Hi all. Surgery went great! No issues. A lot of gas but I'm hanging in there..walking definitely helping.
  2. Hi all!!!! It happened. Thrilled with my decision to do this. No unbearable pain. A lot of gas. Wish I could sleep better. Morphine not really doing the trick. How is everyone else?

    December 2013 Sleevers

Tomorrow is the day!!! I'm super excited. Can't wait to start this new journey. @life2celebrate I was wondering about getting that book on my Kindle as well. I have heard some great things about it. I think I'll get it too!

Just started packing today. I have a few more things to pick up though!
  8. Thanks dreamscometrue!! Following your advice. Been cleaning all day and about to get the laundry done. I have a few 2 oz cups but need to get more. I'm liquid for 3 weeks after anyway though so I won't need them right away. Also started with packing today!

5 more days ! Hang in there. :)

  11. Love reading your journal @dreamscometrue. It's really inspiring and I think I will journal too once I hit post op. My surgery is Tuesday, the 31st and I am soooo excited. I feel like it's taking forever to get here!
  12. Loved this post!! And definitely need to hear it. Like most of us here, I too was dealing with how others would feel about my decision to have surgery. IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS! I made the decision to do this for me and not for anyone else. I'm doing it myself. This process has not been easy. I started in August and my surgery is in a few days. I had to get through Christmas and will have to get through New Years while trying to maintain a liquid diet and showing extreme self control! I'm proud of me and screw whoever doesn't like it... ****vent complete*** LOL

    December 2013 Sleevers

My doctor actually advised me at my last pre-op consultation that if I am not feeling well or think I may be sick at any time prior to my surgery date to make sure I call the office because it may have to be rescheduled. So with that in mind, I have been trying to steer clear of anyone with so much as a cough. Lol. Try to avoid them if at all possible!!

    Fort Worth Buddies?

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Went to Trophy Club for my pre-op testing today! I'm almost there! One week away. I'm so excited.
  19. Last consult with the surgeon today and it went well! Got all my questions answered. He helped relieve the apprehension I was feeling about getting a drain and about the CPAP. I'm excited all over again. I love my doctor. Also I'm down 10 pounds from 10 days ago, which is absolutely awesome!
  20. I met with my surgeon today and told him about my issues with it. He didn't seem to strict about it. Told me to be sure I bring it with me on the surgery date. I'm still going to attempt to use it but I'm not going to let it stress me. Thanks for the tip though. I may try that as well!
  21. Does anyone in here have to use a CPAP? I just got mine last week and was told I need to be "compliant" with my machine for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I am really trying but I hate that damn thing. I find sleeping far MORE difficult with it because I'm a little claustrophobic. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips and if your surgeons are strict about this or not?
