Thanks so much for responding to me! I either want the sleeve or bypass but I'm not sure which one. Is it true that there are foods that you can never eat again with bipass like popcorn and rice? That is what I heard! Movie theater popcorn is one of my weaknesses. Thank gosh I don't go to the movies often! -

Thank you both for responding to this! I really appreciate it! I am just hoping that seeing the guy who read my results is enough since it was in 2011! I don't want to go through another sleep study! At least not now! -

Oh thank you so much! My name is Stacie by the way! So, how is your weigh loss coming? I am so glad you are doing great!! I have all of my appts scheduled with all drs to get the ok for surgery the first half of Jan! My consultation with the bariatric dr is the 15th. I had to go to a seminar first. And then insurance was approved and now this is my 3rd step I guess you could say.

I live in Aurora Illinois. I am having my surgery in New Lenox which is close to Joliet! Are you in IL?

All the first half of Jan! I can't wait! I sure hope I get approved and get a surgery date soon after my consultation.

Hi everyone! I don't have a surgery date yet. I am in the very beginning of this journey. I'm very concerned because I'm always so hungry now! How am I gonna get through the liquid phase? I know this probably seems like a small thing to worry about, but I am worried.

Wow!!! 123 lbs in a little over 7 months? Good for you! . That is just great! Did you work out at all? I work out but hate it so much! I wish I enjoyed it. My husband loves it! I know the dr will want me to work out after the surgery and I am cleared for it! I say ick haha!

M excited but nervous! I go for an informational meeting on wed! The person I talked to said that is the first step. Did anyone else have to do this as well before seeing the dr? I was relieved to find a place that took my insurances. I have Medicare and Medicaid.

Hi everyone! Is there any foods you can't have after to are cleared for a regular diet again? My best friend had gastric bipass a few years ago and she can not have popcorn or rice ever again she was told! I love popcorn!! Especially when going to the movies. I can't imagine having to give that up all together! Thanks everyone! I'm just starting the process but trying to get as much info as I can!

Well that is really good to know! My friend tried rice and it hurt her stomach so bad she was doubled over in pain. She said the reason is that it expands. And she just had a little bit too. She did say no popcorn!

Just got off the phone with the dr office! My insurance has been approved! Woohoo! And I already filled out health history so I now have my first appointment which is Jan 15th at 2:15. I have a bmi of 56 and some conditions so the lady I talked to said that's all I need for approval! I'm so excited! I'm nervous too! I wish I didn't have to wait till the 15th though! It seems so far away!
