Tips from success stories
shmily replied to chefkelly's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
PS. I had a "Bariatric Team" and got all my guidelines from them, in a nice book from the team. I call it my Bariatric Bible. Then when I see my doc he tweeks it as I progress -
Tips from success stories

Did you have surgery in the US? If so call your doctors office and tell the medical assistant that you need some guidelines. You should be taking more vitamins than just a multi and you REALLY need a plan. If they did not give you one, that would be scarey as to the competence of your team -
It varies depending on what YOUR doctor wants you to have

I never did mind SF syrup. I could not tell the difference

I have noticed I have about lost interest in all food. I am happy with my shakes, ice cream, greek yogurt and cottage cheese
-
For me, I would have skipped the butter and sugar and used sliced fresh fruit instead.

do a search for 3 week stall, you will find it there

I use one half cup of Premier Vanilla protein shake, 1/2 c light soy milk, 1 scoop of the Unjury Strawberry Sorbet Protein powder, and vanilla Torani SF, about 1 Tb. (I have been unable to find the strawberry Torani. ) I put it in my magic bullet and blend well, then put it into the frozen turning Cuisinart , and let it spin about 5 minutes, then I had about 3 nice sized finely chopped strawberries and let it turn until the ice cream climbs up the dasher and won't go down. I either eat it then or dish it up and put in the freezer for about 30 min. Yes, you get the whole thing....
-
I used it in water, didn't really care for it, so I use it to make my strawberry protein ice cream
-
I just had a bowl of chocolate hazelnut for supper.....

I took 1/2 c Premier Choc Protein Drink,(15 gr protein) 1/2 c lite almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (12 gr protein), 1/2 Tb caramel SF Torani syrup, 11 drops Capella almond joy flavoring and mixed it in my magic bullet. Then I poured it into my Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. I ran it 5-8 min until the ice cream walked onto the top of the "dasher" then I scraped it out into a bowl and that was my lunch... It was sooo good. I am going to play with different mixtures using the RTD Premier.

I haven't had any tea yet, used to get a big McD unsweetened when we were out. I haven't had any caffeine yet and I am not sure I want to add it back. I may someday do decaf here at home

These Cuisinart ice cream makers are awesome little things. I added some SF Torani's but you can also just do your shake. If you go to theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has lots of Protein ice cream flavor recipes

My US Doctor said no swimming or water immersion for 2 weeks, and that is IF there were no complications

Went to the first seminar last night and did a complete 180!
shmily replied to kkenney85's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I initially wanted a sleeve but insurance wouldn't pay for it , then after hearing the whole story about this vs that, I was glad for the bypass because it will hold me more accountable. If I eat anything I am not supposed to, it can make me sick and I don't want that, and I do not want to try it and see.... -
Someone I met in class had surgery the day before me. She has had the same issue and her doctor ordered a gallbladder ultra sound. I haven't heard from her recently. I am so sorry for you who are suffering

I think that everyone is entitled to their moment of "remorse" here and should not have to worry about being chastised for it!! Gee whiz ranters. Go rant on your own facebook page or something. Aren't we supposed to offer support and encouragement??? I HOPE this was the post that someone was trying to report!!! -
You are welcome. I have just tried to keep it simple, especially until I see my doc and hopefully meet his first goal of 50 lbs for me. It is satisfying for me....

PS. My doctor wants me to stay at this calorie level until I see him May 6
