I think most of us have our moments of weakness. Just try your best to keep your mind on the right track. You will be okay.

What's the story behind your profile name?
Years ago when my kids were little we watched the movie Kangaroo Jack. There was a guy named Jackie Leggs. My name is Jackie just spelled Jaci so Jacileggs was born. I also use it for most things.

Question...?
There is a lot of judgement going on here. No one knows what a person is going through in their life. Who are we to judge them? I agree it is frustrating to see people seriously fall off the wagon on their food plan. But we are not them. They fight their battles and we fight ours.

Bariatric surgery and depression
I have suffered from depression for 14 years since my divorce. On and off medication through the years. I am three months post op for gastric bypass. Down total of 75 lbs. I am currently off my cymbalta and feeling better than I ever have in my life. Hope it continues.

Hair loss, evidence with picture and me bitching...
Yes I also lose hair by the handful. It's crazy. Luckily I had super thick hair to start. No one probably notices but me. But it's still aggravating.

Went to the first seminar last night and did a complete 180!
I chose bypass also. I had gerd and it resolved with surgery. I only have had two dumping episodes. One from eating too much fat and one from eating too much. Sweets don't bother me at all.

Give your opinion to tell or not
At first I wasn't going to tell. But then I decided not to be ashamed of my choice and spilled the beans. There will be those who don't agree but it's really none of their business.

Stall
Me too. I find I don't eat enough. When I am able to eat more my weight drops. Its the metabolism that gets too low.

Finally gonna get a lapband or sleeve
I had gastric bypass and they repaired my hiatal hernia at the same time. Easy peasy. Mine was all covered by my provincial health care plan. It did require jumping through all the required hoops first though.

Any Canadians Out There?
That's great. It's worth the wait. And jumping through the hoops.

How did you go about telling your family/employer/co-workers...
I decided to just go ahead and tell people. I am not ashamed of having wls. It was my decision and I decided to be proud of myself for being proactive with my health. I personally don't care if people don't agree with it. It's not their health at stake it's ours.

Where are all the Canadians ?

Awesome! Congrats.

Other Canadians?
I'm guessing you live in central or northern alberta. The wait in the south region isn't nearly as long. I waited 8 months from referral to the clinic to surgery. I had booked to have it done in great falls but decided to save the $15000 and wait. Glad I did. Good luck to you.
-
Uuugggghhhhh!
It is covered in Alberta. I didn't have to pay a cent.
