  1. The last 5 months I've been getting UTI's for 2 days every other month, treated with over the counter meds. This month I got 2 UTI's 1 week apart! I'm pretty sure it's because I'm not eating or drinking enough so my body isn't flushing out the bad bacterias. My problem is, eating solid foods hurts my stomach, just a few bites and it feels like I ate a pound of food, so most days I'd rather not eat at all then get a stomach ache. I can go days without eating so I am worried my little stomach has gotten even smaller due to lack of food. Has this happened to anyone else?
  2. I still have my gall bladder. Is a gallbladder attack similar?
  3. I think I had my first IBS attack last night at 9PM after I drank a kids cup Lil Angel from smoothie King and had 1/2 scoop of greek frozen yogurt. I have had these items before and was fine... I thought my appendix was going to burst or my intestines were inflamed from having diarrhea for the last few days (TMI sorry)...I haven't felt pain like this since the week after my surgery! Thankfully 1 hour ago, almost 20 hours after the pain started, I am feeling well enough to get out of bed. Has this happened to anyone else?
  4. I didn't regain normal energy levels until 3 months post op. I know taking 3 months off from work is not realistic. I feel for all the nurses who get sleeved because it will be really hard to be on your feet and help others when all you want to do is sit down and sleep.
  5. I would love to lose 10 lbs in the next month because that's when my restaurant will be opening. I need motivation though. Right now I am working out 2-3 days a week and not eating very healthy.
  6. The last month I have experienced nerve pain in my left collar bone, which I believe is caused from my heavy chest, possibly a pinched nerve from my bra strap. Even though I have lost many inches from every area of my body, my chest seems to be the last to shrink. Has anyone else experienced nerve pain in their collar bone area from bras or even when they don't wear bras? I am 5 months post op.
  7. I am 5 months post op and miss the euphoric high I would get from eating when upset. I don't think I will get that feeling ever again, unless I start doing drugs I guess lol.
  8. Everything. Taco Bell was my go to binge food before, and now it makes me throw up within 5-10 minutes of having a few bites.
  9. 4 months post op and coffee gives me really bad stomach acid. I still drink it a few times a week, but I always need an antacid afterwards.
  10. Anyone here had lipo after the sleeve? I'm only 4 months out but am considering lipo at 1 year post op if I haven't lost enough.
  11. After being sleeved on Dec 3, 2013, my body doesn't process alcohol the same. Please save the "you shouldn't be drinking anyway lectures." If I drink mixed sugary drinks, or even wine a little too fast, my face gets very flushed. Another symptom I now get is a severe pain behind my left ear. Has this happened to anyone else? I have googled the ear pain from alcohol and it points to Hodgkin's Disease so I'm a little worried now. I also have had a small lump the size of a pea about 4 inches below my armpit for about 8 months. Thanks.
  12. I was sleeved in Dec 2013. I just noticed what looks like keratosis pilaris on my forearms (underneath) and underside of my upper arms. Has this happened to anyone else? It's on both arms, doesn't itch, and is just lots of tiny skin colored bumps. I had a lot of skin issues before surgery so this doesn't surprise me
  13. Since being sleeved in Dec 2013, I have recently noticed much more hair torn out on my hair ties since I wear my hair in a pony tail every day. I have not yet noticed excessive hair loss after a shower, etc. I have very thick hair so I'm not really worried about the hair loss. The extensions are mostly for me to feel more attractive since I had extremely long hair before I became depressed and cut it to my chin a year ago...
  14. After losing 50 lbs since the first visit to my doctor's office, I feel like I should reward myself with hair extensions. Has anyone had them done within the first 3-6 months of being sleeved? I am in south Florida so the prices for extensions are high (I think?). What are the prices near you? I am getting 16 inches, 6 bundles, Great Lengths, 2 colors, with a 'complimentary' cut and style and shipping for $1,450. I am opening a restaurant in 1 month so I want to feel the best about myself as I can.
  15. this topic is funny and never crossed my mind....
  16. Hey Loobylou. I'm actually 2/4 Irish, 1/4 Scottish and the remaining 1/4 - I'm a English mutt. But yes, I have the pale (prone to stretch marks) skin and fine, can't do anything with it hair! I may well give consideration to a wig if the sides of my head disappear any more quickly than they already are. I fancy a bright red bob... Hmm.. that's an idea actually! Roo - you're right, your wig is absolutely fantastic! I wouldn't know it was a wig at all! Is it real hair? LOL It is really interesting you said that, PdxMan. Although being dark and having a bit of a tache - its my legs which are starting to look like they belong to a baby gorilla! Weird. I didn't think it could have been the Biotin that caused me to go this way. Did the excess hair stop for you once Biotin had left your system? I'm thinking it might be worth continuing on with the Biotin and suffering the ape-legs so that it promotes the growth on my head... I think blondes do have more fun. Just need to look at my sister to confirm that. She's flaxen blonde and I am dark! Genetics are weird! Be afraid - be very afraid! lol Not really.. Everyone suffers it in different ways and at different levels. You may be one of the lucky few. I hope you are I have very thick hair, so in a way I am kinda looking forward to losing 50% of my hair - that's how much hair I have. My sleeve was Dec 3 2013 and still no hair loss.
  17. Broward county, Dr. Shillingford.
  18. I do.. every day. lol. I'm 3 months post op. I drink about 3 oz and it's enough. Much better than the 100 oz I drank before surgery.
  19. I'm never hungry. I only eat when I am 'supposed to' eat. If there were no one else around me all day to witness my lack of eating, I would probably just drink my meals, or have juice or milk. Eating is not enjoyable anymore for me. Everyone I eat around now notices how little I eat. I just say I'm on a diet, but everyone still gives me a hard time. It's embarrassing and I try to eat more so they don't make comments but I can never eat enough. I stop eating when I know that uncomfortable feeling is about to come with the next bite. It's about 5 bites in for me at 3 months post op.
  20. I've lost 36 lbs and have a BMI of 29 now. Anyone with similar stats out there?? I need a buddy!
  21. I was sleeved Dec 3 2013! Weight loss has slowed but at least I'm still losing a pound a week and not in a stall.
  22. You are doing great! Keep doing what you're doing and the weight will fall off eventually. I wish I was as strict as you...
  23. wow great job. I'm 2 months post op as well but only lost 31 lbs. What's your diet and exercise like?
