  1. I have a digital weight watcher scale that I LOVE...
  2. Ok Ladies....... I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow and just started my first period since surgery and the scale shows I gained 3 pounds. While my brain tells me the gain is likely due to my period, I can't help but feel maybe it isn't. Anyone else experience this?
  3. Hallen651, We both had our revision from Band to sleeve on the same day! I, too, ended up with a horrible UTI and yeast infection. It was from all the antibiotics post op. Would love to connect with you.
  4. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what you must be feeling. Taking care of yourself needs to be a priority and I suspect you do not have the emotional energy to even do that. Do you have friends and family who are with you to encourage and support you? Are you getting any sleep? Obviously drinking and eating what you can is important, but I think resting your mind may be the best thing you can do. Touch base with your doctor about how you are feeling and if you need any medication for sleep and/or anxiety. The other thing that comes to mind is to make sure you have someone to talk to, whether that be a professional or friends or family. Again, I am so sorry for your enormous loss. Take care and peace to you.
  5. I can't answer your question directly, but I can tell you this was one of the reasons I opted for the surgery. My partner and I were TTC since October 2012. Did 6 rounds of IUI with clomid, HCG injectable and progesterone suppositories...... We did get pregnant December 2012 but I miscarried in February of 2013. After THOUSANDS of dollars, millions of tears and a whole lot of heartache, we decided it was better for me to get the weight off first and then try to conceive (I just turned 40 so waiting is kinda scary).
  6. I'm 5 and a half weeks out and have worked my tukas off and I have lost a substantial amount of weight. I hope it continues, but I feel I have to be the one putting in the work, the sleeve only does part of it.
  7. I have to say that every Dr. is different. I was on pureed food from post op day 2.
  8. I had this too. My dr. said it is from blood pressure dropping. I was on BP meds and had to have them decreased and will be discontinuing them this week,
  9. I have had "dumping" and I have the sleeve... Now It only happened once after eating something with 9 gm of sugar ( I had to servings of the item at one time). I learned my lesson with that!
  10. I thought this was a great thread because I had the same question. Almost 6 weeks out and average between 600-800 calories and hit 60 gm of Protein. Water intake is well over 64 ounces. BUT, I am still hungry a lot of the time. However, once I eat, I feel better.
  11. I can so relate. I had revision to sleeve on 11/27 and have been stalled for a week. Actually I lost two pounds but then they came back. I wonder if I'm eating too much because I DO get hungry. I see people say they are never hungry and I wish that was the case for me. For example, tonight I had 1/2 cup egg salad and a dannon greek light and fit yogurt. I probably could have eaten more but didn't.
  12. I will be returning to work next Wednesday and I'm kinda freaking out about it. I have been fortunate to have a full 6 weeks to recover and that has allowed me to really focus on eating Protein, drinking enough fluids and go to the gym. I'm scared about losing momentum once I return to work. I work as a social worker in child welfare so my days are anything but predictable. I can't set a schedule to eat, drink and go to the gym. (I can drink plenty without a schedule). I'm nervous about what food to take with to work to ensure I'm prepared but It has to be something that doesn't have to be refrigerated all the time. As far as the Gym, I have no idea how to ensure I will go. Any advice?
  13. OMG I had the same thing. Monistat 1 is EVIL.....I had such a bad reaction to that. I ended up calling and getting a script for Diflucan and Flagyl. In a couple of days it was gone. But man, in the meantime, I thought I was going to loose my mind.
  14. I'm 5 weeks out from band to sleeve revision and have lost 43 pounds.
  15. I'm 5 weeks out from revision from band to sleeve and I have been taking Prilosec daily for acid reflux/heartburn. But the past couple of days I am have pretty bad heart burn. Any one else experience this while taking an acid reducer?
  16. I will be out a full 6 weeks. I had a really rough surgery (revision) and my recovery was difficult. My Dr. wanted me to have minimal stress and really master the rules for sleeve living.
  17. Wednesday I will be five weeks out from my revision from lap band to sleeve and I have lost 42 pounds. I am beyond thrilled. My problem is I will be returning to work next week Wednesday and most of my work clothing is too big. While I am excited about this problem, I have conflicting feelings about having to fork out money for new clothes knowing I am so new into my journey and I will be changing sizes a lot. What do other people do to work a professional wardrobe while trying not to spend a small fortune?
  18. I will be 5 weeks out on Wednesday and have had a fast weight loss, but I started at a really high weight. I still get discouraged because I have so far to go. The holidays were tough, especially when everything seems to revolve around food!
  19. call the dr. but my guess is it's more acid reflux. Are you taking Prilosec or something to help with that?
  20. Thank you for your replies..... I have been down this road when I had the lapband and did well, until the band made it impossible to eat anything. I am trying to build the new "good habits". It's just hard. Most of the time I am good at passing up things I want. I guess I was just giving myself permission to have a few things that weren't the best choices because it's the holidays. I KNOW there is always going to be something or another to rationalize bad behavior...... OMG, my therapist voice is coming out. I guess I need to use the same strategies I ask clients to do to avoid temptation over their addictions....
  21. I am four weeks out from having a revision. I had my lapband placed in 2005 and it was slipped and I had an infection around where the band was. Since the revision, I've lost 38 pounds.....
  22. I'm four weeks out today and the past two days have been difficult. We hosted Christmas eve last night and while I could have done way worse than I did, I still feel guilty. I had a small amount of mashed potatoes with Italian beef, a couple of crackers with cheese, a bite of a cookie and a bite of apple pie. And today, I have had the same thing plus 2 skinny cow wafer bars...... I'm scared this little indulgence is going to set me off on a binge of sorts. I'm with my family now and they are ordering Chinese for dinner (my partner's Jewish so I guess it's tradition for her and our daughter). I'm angry I can't participate with them.... and I don't even really like Chinese food... I don't know, I think I'm feeling sorry for myself and a little disappointed I wasn't able to resist everything.
  23. I had a drain and to be honest it was more a nuisance than painful. You have to be careful not to pull on it. I pinned mine to the inside of my gown. It didn't hurt at all when it was removed. They did the removal right in my hospital room. It felt weird but didn't hurt.
