I've looked at it too but I'm nervous as well... It's sooo hard to find clothes without trying them on first.

Just wanted to add that my lapband caused esophageal dilation and dismotility and I had an infection on my stomach where the lap band was placed.....
-
I had this happen and then insurance said they would pay for the revision~ part of it~
I agreed to pay for the lap band removal and they paid for the sleeve. However, what they neglected to tell me and to coordinator of the clinic I went to was that there is a 25,000 cap on this benefit. I had some complications and had a 4 day hospital stay to the tune of 130,000. It has been an insurance nightmare ever since.

at two weeks out I could only do 15-20 minutes on the treadmill and increased the rate and incline each time I went. I still get lightheaded and have been told it's due to my blood pressure dropping. if you are on any blood pressure meds, make sure your doc knows how you are feeling..... you might need to come off of them. Amazing what a little weight loss can do!

Thanks everyone.... I can't eliminate the stress, a lot of it is work related (I'm a social worker/therapist in child welfare) the other stress is money~ my insurance is only covering 25,000 of my 130,000 dollar surgery and hospital stay. It makes me ill to think of this amount of debt! Definitely going to eat a balanced dinner and go to bed early!

I'm 12 weeks out tomorrow. My life has been super stressful and I have been eating ALL day long.... A Protein Bar here, a yogurt there, some berries here, oatmeal all to the tune of over 900 calories and I haven't had dinner. I know saying I'm stressed is an excuse and I am accountable but I don't know how to just jump back on the wagon. I haven't had this type of "binge" since surgery and I'm scared.

I had my band removed and conversion to sleeve on 11/27 and am down 62 pounds.

Everyone is soooo different. I was off a full 6 weeks from work and it was the best thing for me. I had a very rough surgery (mine was a conversion from lap band to sleeve) full of recovery complications, a 4 day stay in the hospital and a lot of pain. I felt much better by week 4 but was still very fatigued. I did start walking on a treadmill at the gym but could only manage 15-20 minutes. Be patient and all the best to you.

Yes I had the band removed and was sleeved on 11/27/13.

Last Friday I was supposed to have a follow up apt. with the nurse practitioner, only to have the program manager call me to cancel it. Obviously prior to my surgery the surgery was submitted for approval and after an appeal it was approved (well, one of them were approved, I have to self pay to have the band removed). However, Humana is stating they have a 25,000 cap per life time for Bariatric care. and they paid the hospital their 25,000. Unfortunately, this 25,000 cap was never communicated to me nor to the program manager who submitted the claim for approval. Needless to say this leaves me with a $130,000 bill. My surgery had complications and I was in the hospital for 4 days. I'm so frustrated. I am going to appeal but I don't think it's going to make a difference. I cannot afford this....Had I known this was the case, I would have opted for different treatment and possibly somewhere else. Anyone else ever experience this?

I know somewhere in this massive thread is your spread sheet, can you post it again because I can't find it. I don't remember what my weight was at the start of the challenge.

I will definitely talk with the hospital..... Unbelievable. I haven't received a bill yet from the hospital and this is just of the EOB sent from Humana.
-
I received my EOB today from Humana for my surgery in November. Mind you I was in the hospital 4 days and had some serious complications. My part of the bill is 124,950. That's right kids over a hundred thousand dollars. I had a preauthorization, I did everything by the book and now I am stuck with a bill that will bankrupt me. Advice?

I have humana. I just had revision from lap band to sleeve on 11/27. Humana paid for the lap band in 2005 and then denied revision and then reversed part of their decision after an appeal. I had to pay for the removal of the band and Humana paid for the sleeve..... At least that's what the prior authorization said but I haven't received a bill yet.

I am super impressed with you and you are my new (s)hero..... I have been contemplating c25k and honestly it seems daunting. I'm still really overweight. Although, I can walk a couple miles with no problem, I worry my joints will rebel! But you have given me some motivation.

I read your question and kinda wanted to laugh and say "hell, no." BUT I am new into my journey. I'm only 9 weeks out from revision from lapband to sleeve. With the lapband I lost 100 pounds and then gained it back when I started having serious problems with it. The sleeve has been what I hoped it would be. That said, I too, wish my weight loss would hurry up and i'd be at or close to my goal. I think you hit the proverbial nail on the head when you we need to try to live in the present.
I guess my take on it is that I cannot wait 6 months or a year to enjoy myself and my family; I need to do that now while still losing weight. But man, I wish I could blink and the 100 pounds I need to lose would just be gone...If it were that easy, I wouldn't have needed surgery!

I was sleeved 11/27. My calories average about 800/day. Sometimes a little more if I've worked out hard and sometimes a little less. My NUT said to try to stay under 800/day.

I'm 8 weeks out and I felt like that initially~ I was sleeved the day before Thanksgiving......What a cruel joke for this fat girl! It was super hard for me over the holidays but it probably would have been hard regardless of when it was. I was MAD at the world.... I knew it was my choice to opt for the surgery but it just didn't seem fair that my DOG is able to eat more than I do!! The anger passed.... I think a lot of it was surge in hormones and loss of my best friend, food. You are feeling completely normal, although it probably doesn't feel like it.
anyone have Humana insurance?

I have humana and they have been a nightmare to work with. I previously had lap band surgery and had a revision to sleeve this past November. Humana never told me there was a 25,000 cap for bariatrics and my surgery/hospital stay was 130,000.
but to answer you question:
they required 6 months supervised diet
going to a center of excellence
and I think there is BMI requirement
