    Eating at Disney

I'm really curious about people's responses as I'm heading to Disney in July.
  4. I had my gallbladder removed on Monday and had IVs until I was ready for discharge on Tuesday. During that time I gained 11 pounds of which I assume was mostly Water weight. But I've been home 2 days and I haven't lost any of the weight. I'm not drinking as much as I should because I'm nauseous and eating mostly consists of Soup or oatmeal. I'm just so frustrated because prior to surgery I was 239 and now the scale doesn't budge from 249. Depression is setting in. It also doesn't help that I'm in pain on top of it.
  5. It's been four months today since I had band to sleeve revision. After a complicated surgery and a rough recovery I was feeling really good. I've lost 72 pounds, have lots of energy and best of all, I haven't been in any pain. Fibro was a huge part of my life prior to surgery and honestly, after surgery I haven't had any fibro pain. However, the past 10 days have been very reminiscent of the pain I had experienced before. I know I'm walking much more and am more active than I have been in years. Maybe the increased activity is causing a fibro flare up, I don't know. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
  6. I was admitted to the hospital yesterday and had my gallbladder removed. I was discharged today and while I'm in pain, I'm recovering nicely. BUT I'm pissed at the scale because it shows an 8 pound gain. I haven't eaten any food since Sunday afternoon. I know it's from the IV fluids but it still really upsets me.

    gallbladder

I have NEVER had gallbladder issues. However, this past Friday I started feeling ill. By Saturday I was vomiting and had diarrhea and a fever. I was having severe abdominal pain and back pain. I assumed it was a stomach bug or trapped gas. Saturday morning I called the Dr. on call who suggested I take Gas-X. So I did, and nothing made it feel any better. In fact, I felt like I was in labor~ I still felt horrible on Sunday and thought if I didn't feel better by Monday, I would go into the Dr. However about 3am, was in such pain, I had my partner take me to the ER (something I would usually never do because of the cost of it). My white blood count was through the roof and an ultra sound showed my gallbladder full of gallstones. So, I had emergency surgery yesterday. I was discharged this am and while I am in pain, it doesn't compare to the pain I felt prior to surgery.
  8. What I thought was the stomach flu, which I had since Friday, landed me in the ER this morning. After testing and much pain, the verdict is my gallbladder has to come out. So ironic because my doc had me on medication to prevent this. Apparently, it wasn't doing it's job. So, I had surgery this afternoon and am in quite a lot of pain right now, but hopefully will get to go home tomorrow.

    food phases

Everyone's plan is so different. I was eating pureed food before I left the hospital (I was there for 4 days) and progressed rather quickly from pureed to soft and then normal~ all within 6 weeks. I tolerated everything really well. Follow what they tell you regardless. Honestly, I wasn't hungry at all until 8 weeks out and nothing, NOTHING, tasted right. I lived on refried Beans and Amy's lentil soup!
  10. First off, I know I had a bad day yesterday and ate a lot of things I shouldn't have..... I guess it was my eating disorder rearing her head....And I will deal with that. That said, I am in horrible pain that started last night. I had popcorn in the morning, some frozen pizza for lunch and frozen yogurt later..... I have been having pretty severe abdominal pain and back pain . It's almost like bad diarrhea pains but I don't have diarrhea and the pain is also in my back. I'm worried it could be my gallbladder although I don't know because I have never had issues with it before. Does anyone know how that feels?

    Activity trackers

I absolutely LOVE my fit bit flex.... Worth the 100.00. Keeps me accountable for my food intake and activity. I like being able to see the steps and active minutes increase throughout the day.
  13. I eat oatmeal daily.... If I didn't, I would never poop~
  14. That is super exciting. We are going to Disney in July and not fitting into the rides is one of my biggest fears...... I can't decide if I will try or just forgo because I don't want to be the fat chick who gets kicked out of the ride because the bar wont close. That would be so embarrassing to me.

    Advice about calories

I'm four months out as well and I eat between 800-1000 per day.
  17. I had band to sleeve conversion in November. I wouldn't say I felt no restriction, but I didn't notice the "full" feeling until I was eating real food~ chicken with cooked veg, ground turkey with cheese and sauce, etc. Looking at your statistics, you started at a lower weight so I wouldn't expect you to drop a ton right away....disappointing as that is. hang in there.

    Near Tears

I've been struggling getting the "scale" to move below 245 and this morning I got on the scale and it was 247. I stupidly got on it again this evening and it was 250. I have been following the program to the letter all week, 80 gm of Protein, drinking all my Water 80-100 oz, and exercising. I can't figure this out and am beyond upset. My partner is sooo sick of me talking about weight loss so talking to her about my frustrations really isn't an option right now.

    Uuugggghhhhh!

wow can I empathize with you. The only thing I can say is at least you found out BEFORE you had surgery!. I was approved and had surgery (revision from lapband to sleeve) in November 13. I was hospitalized 4 days due to complications. A few weeks later I get a bill for ..... wait for it.... $132,000. So I have a major anxiety attack and call my insurance who tells me they indeed did approve the surgery but my policy only covers up to $25,000 per life time. They never told me that nor did they tell the program coordinator at the hospital I went to. Now, I have to tell you, the hospital did "reduce" my bill to $47,000. That was nice of them. When I called to make payment arrangements, the lowest they would accept per month was $800.00. That just isn't going to happen, I'm a social worker who works for a non profit agency. Scary stuff.

  21. Don't get me wrong, I realize I have lost weight but this month has kind of sucked in terms of weight loss. The first two months(November to December) I lost a total of 45 pounds, then the third( December to January) month I lost 12 pounds, then 7(January to February) pounds and this month(February to March) has only been 6 pounds. I'm scared that my weight loss is going to stop..... I still have a long way to go and this is starting to feel like not going to happen at all. Most days (probably 98%) I am on plan, get my Protein, Water, etc. There have been a few times where I have had a bite of birthday cake or an onion ring. But these are very few and far between.
  22. Thanks you guys.... Sometimes I just need to vent and I appreciate this board so much, for so many reasons.
  23. I'm totally self conscious and find flaws with whatever I put on. Two weeks ago my partner and I had "budior" pictures taken and I have to say, I looked really good in them (so did she). But I don't see it when I look in the mirror. I have bought new clothes and I like them but I don't know that they are super flattering. I'm still in a 1X - 2X and some of the clothes that are available are really not my style.... Who knew I actually had one? What are some good styles for dressing plus size women who are still losing? I don't want to break the bank every weekend or spend every weekend in a thrift store trying to find something.... Any ideas?
