What has happened to Christianity?
:clap2: He's right-absolutely. There are certain circles in which I am truly embarrassed to say I am a Christian. Not because of shame about Jesus but because of how certain people (those who scream at the top of their lungs what great Christians they are) tend to act. My church really caters to people who left the church or who were hurt by Christians or other churches and I'll tell you, it is huge and growing. Most of us wouldn't even go to church if we hadn't found a place like this where we feel accepted, not judged. I hope this article gets around more. Thanks for posting.

Weight based discrimination
I could have written this. People are so very different now that I'm not much overweight. Men, but especially women, are much nicer. It's like I'm one of them now. Huh? I definitely feel angry about this, too. I hope I don't do this to people. I tend to try to befriend those who need it most. My husband married me at my biggest weight and his treatment of me hasn't really changed either. If it had, we would have some serious issues to deal with.

Weight-loss surgery proves fatal for driver

7 pounds since October but I also haven't been able to exercise.- Learning the Secret 2
No food can fix a problem such as being lonely, anxious, etc. There's not enough food in the world to fill up that kind of emptiness.- Lap-Band on the Today Show
Wish I had bought stock in Inamed/Allergan (?) way back when. I enjoyed the story and will be emailing the Today show about the veracity of the story.- Metal Detectors
I have been through several metal detectors several times at both courthouses and airports. Nothing.- Pills
I take several pills everyday and have had no problem whatsoever.- Do you measure your food with a cup or a scale?
I just buy by my hunger. When I full I (usually) stop eating. I think at the beginning it's great to measure and we do need to reprogram ourselves about portion size by perhaps measuring. But there comes a point where we have to trust our bodies and our bands.- Tips for a new runner?
I have this book and it is GREAT!!! I totally recommend it. He writes a column in Runner's World. http://www.runnersworld.com/topic/0,7122,s6-243-332-0-0,00.html- What is your motivation
I had to walk around a college campus at a week long conference and it just about killed me! This was the final straw. I called my husband crying on the second day and that was it for me. No regrets.- Sabotage!
I'm feeling generous today so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she probably thinks she is comforting you with these foods. Just consider this practice for turning down treats. If she is someone you can really talk to, sit down and have a serious talk. I don't know...tell her you are already feeling down and you need to eat healthy to feel better or that your doc says you need healthy food to heal the elbow. Tell her it's too stressful for you to be around all these sweets. These are all probably true anyway. I hope there is actually some decent food in the house in addition to the treats. Good luck with the elbow. Hope that heals fast. The time will pass and you will get better.- What is the success rate? Scared...
Four and a half years and very happy with my band. Had a healthy pregnancy and wonderful healthy baby during that time. Still losing weight. There are lots of success stories but the farther people get from surgery the less they tend to hang around the boards due to living their lives and doing all kinds of new and exciting things.- Question for the ladies...
46DD to a 38C. I always had a big chest, even when I wasn't overweight. This is a great size for me. No backaches and running isn't too hard with this size.- Making 100
In a couple of years it won't matter how fast we lost it, just if we kept it off or not. The band has a way of teaching us patience.- Making 100
This is such an excellent program. I recently did my first 5k with a similar training program. It is exhilarating! http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml- **sigh** self sabatoge
Congrats on your loss so far! Excellent move, getting rid of the cake. We have to do that too. Forgive yourself and move on. Honestly, it took me like at least a year to consistently (fairly consistently) not be so easily seduced by food. Heck, I'm a very slow learner (and stubborn and tend to doubt that the laws of physics apply to me) so maybe you'll change your head faster. You're still a young bandster. As long as you are making good choices most of the time, you will lose weight. Think about it that way. And, I agree that you may need a fill.- Eating Frosty's Standing Up!
Yep. When I was too tight.- Huge NSV
Beautiful, beautiful! That is awesome!- Acceptable??
What about those of us who are/were happliy married/in a relationship as obese people? My husband married me at over 300 and I know he loved me then as much as he does now. Your body size, saggy skin, whatever cannot be used as an excuse to keep love away.- Lost Away From Band Land
Every day you wake up you have another chance to get it right. I've had my band a while and certainly did my share of don'ts with the band. All it takes is an act of will to start following the band rules. Think about what you need to do that you aren't and make a plan. I'm a jump-into-it kind of person but if you want gradual change, plan to do one additional thing right every week. Like no drinking with food this week, no grazing next week, whatever. The beauty of the band is it's quite forgiving (or I wouldn't still be losing after 4 years). You can stop and start (by your own free will or because of issues) and still be productive with the band. Keep seeing your therapist. Mine has been a life saver. Start journalling about: Why you feel the need to break these rules, why you might be sabotaging yourself. What are you afraid of? How did your bulimia serve you? Why you are ready to let your bulimia go now. What feelings to do you have about being fat and thin that might surprise you? I can tell you do value yourself enough to give the band a chance. That's more than half the battle. Good luck. Remember the mistakes you made with the band were yesterday. Today is your chance to do it right. Keep in touch and message me if you want. I know the ups and downs with the band more than almost anyone. I'm not bulimic but I sure do have food issues.- What exactly IS a little bite?
Seriously I think 1/2 teaspoon is doable. Any smaller pieces and people around you start thinking "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder." For those of us in the closet.- What would the boy/girl you were at 18... think of the MAN/WOMAN you are today?
She would be absolutely shocked that I got my shit together. And shocked at how happy I am. And that I have a family. Amazed that I am in a healthy relationship and know how to have healthy relationships. And that I'm not suicidal anymore.- Can't exercise! How to not gain weight?
I had an accident and can't exercise until at least February. I am so close to my goal and so afraid of gaining 20 pounds before then. Anyone have any tips or help? - Holiday Nightmare
