So my wife who is a RN just pointed out that I probably have thrush. Which is a yeast imbalance in my mouth. Likely from antibiotics. My tongue has this white film on it and my teeth feel fuzzy regardless how much I brush and use mouth wash.
Anyone else experience this?
I had a similar issue - a killer skin rash that was yeast. It was caused by taking the antibiotics.

I got a rash and my Surgeon said it was yeast. He had me use athletes foot powder (not cream), and it cleared it right up.
-
I have it too.

I was sleeved on Dec. 31, 2013 and it was the best thing I ever did. I dropped 82 lbs. and went from size 20 - 22 to size 8 -10. I exercise 2 - 3 times per week and am very active - enjoying life.
I have gained about 5 lbs. in the last few months, but believe I can get that back off by going back to basics. Next goal is to stay within a 3 lb. bounce range all the time.

I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope you continue to take care of yourself.
-
I love it!

I'm with you - am 2 lbs above my bounce weight and don't want to go that direction!

Deez Jeanz, it's really tough to manage knowing you have no control over your grown children. Try not to take it as a reflection on you and hang in there!

Kindle, I'm so sorry for your loss. How awful you must feel! I'm doing ok - am 2 lbs. above my bounce range. Am trying hard to avoid being disgusted with myself and, instead, to make rational decisions about food and exercise. I went to pilates today and then rode my bike for seven miles. I'm finding it hard to make good decisions about sweets. I'll keep working at it.

Kindle, I'm sorry about your dog. I'm one that has drifted away with (thankfully) little to report. I'm at goal, content (though I could lose more - I'm within the normal range), and fluctuating up and down by a pound typically. I'm also well aware it may get tougher as time goes by, but enjoying this time.

Took my dog in for an MRI last week and found out he has a metastatic tumor in his cervical spine, not the herniated disk we were thinking it was. Spent the last 6 days stress eating my way back to the top of my bounce range.
I'm so sorry about what you and your dog are going through - I know how important they are.

I finally made goal this week! On to maintenance...

I had my one year Dr. Appt today (a little over a month late). I'm maintaining at about 151 lbs. and my blood tests were all perfect - great news. I'm struggling a bit with sweets lately, but will (hopefully) win the battle.
-
Minor change in my weight - I'll wait for more to post - getting off Christmas sweets and back to eating healthy is rough!
I did get my 1 year blood tests drawn - I see the Doc in 1.5 wks

GNC's B-12 tastes good!

There was a time when people went on all-liquid diets for months (Oprah, for example) as a weight loss method. According to my doctor, if I took my Vitamins and drank my Protein Drinks, I would be perfectly healthy. It's only about short term discomfort.
-
I have not posted in quite awhile. Life is busy! Sleeved 12.3.13 with no complications. I can eat Proteins easily, but meats go down easier if they have some juice or gravy to help them. I lost 80 pounds, and my weight hovers between 163 and 166. I set a goal of 150, but since I typically do not exercise at all, I know I will not get there for now. I am 3 years from retiring and have convinced my husband that we need to retire internationally. I want to move to a place that is very walkable. When we were on our last vacation (Dominican Republic), I lost 4 pounds in one week at an all-inclusive resort due to the amount of walking! We are starting to plan for our dream retirement. You would be surprised how inexpensive it can be to live in another country! Next week we go to Belize, February to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and March to Panama. We are interested in these three countries and may also consider Chile or Ecuador. We have never visited any of them, so we decided it was time to get started. If you have visited any of them, please share your thoughts.
I have been to Mexico, but not the other countries. I'm excited to hear about your journeys and final decision!

Congratulations to all of you who have worked so hard and done so well during our first year.
I'm up about a pound, but seem to be fluctuating by a 1 - 1.5 pounds right around this weight. I got to my surgiversary (yeah!), just shy of my final goal of 150.
I'm pleased that I didn't gain a bunch over the holidays (I wasn't very careful and didn't find a place to workout on my travels despite efforts). I'm hopeful that I will finally make goal in early 2015.

Everything tastes awful the first couple of weeks (including water). That was a surprise to me.

My surgiversary is on Wednesday, which is very exciting. I've been away from home for a week and tried weighing myself on my daughter's scale - it looked like no change (which is good). I'll post a more accurate info next week.
-
I wish I had known that the two days in the hospital would go by without me being very aware (in a drugged state) and I really didn't need a book or i-pod.
-
No change this week - I fluctuate 1-2 lbs., but don't really lose or gain ( which is ok with me, especially in this season).

Hi everyone - I want to tell you all good luck. I was sleeved last year on Dec. 31 - so glad I did it! I've lost over 80% of my excess weight and gained strength, confidence and energy. I look forward to hearing your great stories!

I had mine 12/29/2013. I lost 82 lbs. (100% of my excess weight). I kept it off for 3 yrs. and have gained back 30 lbs. I’ve re-joined WW and am using my post-surgery techniques as well to try to get it off.
