Miscarriage close to 2 years after sleeve
Texasmeg replied to Adahlia's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I had a friend that went through this (without the sleeve). She blamed herself for being too active. I am so sorry for your loss. -
I totally agree with the others - this will pass and you will feel better soon. As you begin to feel better, you may want to try some different varieties of Protein shakes (there are lots of recommendations here). Personally, I can't stand anything except Muscle Milk lite or Premier Protein chocolate, but everyone is different. Hang in there!

I made cauliflower crust pizza this weekend and it was really good! It had a lot of parm and moz cheese in the crust that gave it a lot of flavor.

Does Cancer count as Comorbid condition for.insurance approval ?
Texasmeg replied to sunnydove's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
True regarding the future - but it hasn't happened yet, so can't be a comorbidity. -
Clothing Exchange in the DMV Area?
Texasmeg replied to yoyo81's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Have you tried Clothes Mentor? I think they are pretty good and (I checked) they are in the DC area. -

Miss Mac, I would think if your related condition is premature death, WLS would not be an option! -
I agree - Pilates reformer has really helped me!

Orange is NOT my new black! How my fashions have changed!
Texasmeg replied to ziggypbang's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree that it is a little overwhelming - there are so many choices in regular sized clothes. It is a little like getting out of prison - I hear people are overwhelmed by the freedom to choose what to have for dinner when they get out. Also, since I am still loosing, should I buy clothes that are a little (or a lot) too tight? I want to be able to wear them before they are too big for me! -
Day 6 Struggling Today
Texasmeg replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know you probably get tired of hearing this, but it is going to get better VERY quickly. Just breathe and try not to stress out about it. -
You look like a different person! Great job!!!

I have no idea what to say to you except I am so sorry for what you are going through. Please try to take care of yourself as best you can and get through this time. It sounds like your priority is precious time with your Mom and that is understandable. You know that you don't want to end up in the hospital yourself, though, so still important to take care of your basic needs. Take care and best wishes for managing during this difficult time.

I had his partner, Dr. Cribbins (at Presby Plano), and also had a very good experience! -
First support group meeting
Texasmeg replied to slocin12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I didn't get this list - though they had previously given me a list of three. Thanks for sharing! I went to the mtg at Plano Presby (where I had the surgery). -
Congrats to a fellow Texan! I was sleeved by Dr. Cribbins at Plano Presby and couldn't be happier with the experience.

First support group meeting
Texasmeg replied to slocin12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to my first one last night, too. They had a physical therapist discussing exercise. She was surprised that the group was so knowledgeable about the subject. I think that, like a lot of people who have always been thin, she assumed that weight issues are caused by a lack of education. Anyway, the topic sparked some good discussion and I learned about new opportunities in my area, so it was good. Oh, and I also won the door prize! Vitamins and Protein shakes, along with some bath salts. -
I have that, too (new since loosing weight), but I also have a herniated disk and sciatica - so assumed it was related.
-
Mine was under 40, but I had co-morbidities. They approved it quickly - first letter.
-
I used Maderma, but at 3 mos. the scars are still pretty visible (especially the big one).

I wouldn't have said this one week post-op, but I would definitely do it again! My blood pressure is down, I like the way I look, I feel great, and I can still enjoy food without being controlled by it.
