I always used to love eating out. After the sleeve it took a while to figure out where to go, what to eat, etc. Now I have my go-to places that always work. If it is something new, I can usually find an appetizer or side dish that will work, but like Lipstick said, if there isn't anything I can just sit there and have a Decaf coffee and be fine.
    Some of my favorites:
Olive Garden - order off the small plates menu: chicken meatballs or roasted asparagus (no breadsticks) Chick-fil-A - grilled chicken nuggets (a 4 pack suits me perfectly), diet Lemonade, chicken salad (no bread) Shawarma or Gyros - I skip the bread and just eat the meat/veggies/yogurt sauce Mexican restaurants - shrimp dishes, Beans, pollo asado, carne asada, chile verde (skip tortillas, rice and chips), huevos rancheros w/o tortilla New Mexican - carne adovada is just meat and chile - heaven! TexMex - fajitas (skip the tortillas and rice) Texas style smoked bbq (no sauce) with coleslaw and pickles and onions Chinese - Happy Family (mix of chicken, beef, pork, shrimp) - skip the rice, or stirfried veg & chicken Japanese - sashimi, salad, miso Soup (skip the rice and sushi)

I don't stress it...most restaurants have SOMETHING I can eat.., even if it's a grilled chicken salad... very popular item in most places...
I have rarely found a place that I could not order from the menu...tho some waiters look at me a bit crazy when I order "No bread" for a sandwich etc
Life is to be enjoyed...and going out to eat is part of that... I always have lunch the next day too

I weighed once a month. I always saw losses and wasn't disappointed. So many folks get discouraged when the inevitable stalls occur. I never saw them which helped to keep me motivated.

If you got men's health to run your exact post as it is, men would become over 90% of all new bariatric patients.

    Congrats!
macman is right on, follow your Doc's and NUT's advice. Take it easy until the Doc clears you to exercise, don't want to blow an incision. You will feel stronger in a couple of weeks. Pretty soon you'll be a gym rat like the rest of us.
BTW, I am 3 months out and absolutely no regrets!

JW3 got a reaction from joodster219 in Classes
It took 7 months from the time I went to the first seminar to my surgery date. It could have taken less time but my work schedule did not permit me to go any faster. I only went to one class and one support group meeting, the rest of the hoops were testing and getting various MD clearances. My insurance company approved on the first submital (it took about 3 weeks for them to approve the surgery).
I know some insurance companies want you to be one a medically supervised weight loss preogam for 6 - 12 months before they will approve surgery.
Your surgeon's office should be able to tell you the hoops you'll have go through for your whatever insurance you have.
To be honest I needed the time to get my head around the surgery and to commit to the life style change. I am so glad I did.
    Good Luck

I have the Fitbit Zip and I wear it every day. Like others have already stated it really keeps me on point to keep up my activity levels. It is small and unobtrusive. I was pleasantly surprised at how accurate it is.

You can also hook your Fitbit into MyFitnessPal via their app library. Works pretty well and bidirectionally - so the MFP data feeds back into the Fitbit dashboard. We also added an Aria to the mix which took away the need for manual weight logging on both MFP and Fitbit.

i was reading this in a musclebuilding forum ..
Muscles rely on glycogen (the energy they use for fuel) to perform work. When bodybuilders replace carbohydrate with Protein in their diet, they have lower muscle stores of glycogen. For that reason, a high protein/low carbohydrate diet cannot provide enough glycogen for our muscles, so they may feel weak, tired, and fatigue quickly.
In addition, our bodies need to convert any excess Protein we eat in order to burn it as energy or to store it as fat. Protein conversion helps us get rid of the nitrogen contained in amino acids (the building blocks of protein), which we eliminate through urination; however, it can also contribute to dehydration, muscle cramping, and excess stress on liver and kidneys.
As a result, it's important for a bodybuilder to take in enough carbohydrates. Carbs are used to fuel the muscles you'll use to help build lean body mass. Lots of extra protein by itself will not add muscular bulk carbohydrates actually spare protein so that it can be used to repair muscle tissue, which is how we build muscular strength and size.
How much protein do bodybuilders need? First figure out how many calories you need. If you're not taking in enough calories, you can't build muscle tissue efficiently. That's because your body will be burning most of your calories, not using them to repair muscle tissue. For example, take a 180 pound guy if he's moderately active, he probably needs about 2700 calories a day (plus or minus a few) to maintain his weight. Besides his moderate daily activity level, he could burn about 500 calories during an hour of heavy weightlifting. If he wants to add one pound of muscle weight per week, he needs approximately 500 extra calories per day plus about 500 more to make up for the energy deficit from intense weightlifting. This makes his grand total to be around 3700 calories a day.
So how can we translate this number to his protein needs? The RDA for protein has been established at 0.8 grams/kg of body weight for adults. This is not enough to build muscle mass for intense athletes. Although it's difficult to pinpoint a specific number because you have to take into account many variables, research has determined an acceptable range: even at the very high end, the top protein intake needs to be 1.5 - 2.0 g/kg of body weight. For our 180 lb. (divided by 2.2 = 82 kg) lifter, this would be 122 - 164 grams of protein per day. Since protein has 4 calories per gram, then this amount of protein would comprise 13 - 18 percent of his daily caloric intake of 3700 calories; the usual recommendation is about 12 - 15 percent. As you can see, a huge excess of protein is not needed.
Interesting read,,.. hope this can help in anyway.. MT

You can expect to see about 1" more penis per 35lbs of weight loss. Of course this is limited to the the amount of fat surrounding yours.
I have lost just shy of 100lbs & can say it is verry noticeable. And with less fat around it, holding it up, it does hang lower (appear even larger) flacid.
