Good point!! How come you didn't get the whole gastric bypass? That's what I'm going for. And yeah I'm not trying to gain that's for sure! 20 pounds is good for one week!

I am going to SVCMC in Cleveland. My surgeon is Dr. Chandra Hassan. My surgery date is December 27th. Who is your surgeon? GOOD LUCK!

I had surgery on Oct. 9th, 2013 by Dr. Chandra Hassan. RNY Bypass. I also worried something would go wrong on testing day, it didn't! Don't worry about something that hasn't happened yet! My surgery stay was of normal, the staff of Dr. Hassan's is excellent. You will be happy with everyting, I promise you, they are simply the best!. You have a great support system there. I myself could not handle the pain, so I had called and three days later was back in for pain management. Don't let that scare you though, everyone is different. I am not sorry I did this and am well on my way to being in better health. Any other questions,, ask please....You will be great!

I finally feel like I can do a before and "after"!! I am 9 months post op and love my sleeve!! I finally love my life! No more staying in for me! No more putting off laundry because it's "all the way downstairs". I'm living life, smiling all the time, enjoying the heck out of it all!!! Side by side- the best I could do for now. ****** try to avoid my horrible "bra is 4 sizes too big" deal I have going on. It's gonna be remedied soon. Hehe When I was a newbie (feels like yesterday) I adored before and afters. I want I be an inspiration. It's seems so hopeless, I'm down to 3-4 cigs and I want to not want even 1!!!!! How did I allow myself to get controlled by this! I cannot let this stand in my way of my process and I am trying like really hard, I'm on zyban and the patch and try to keep busy but after every meal it's like clock work like a feen is all I think about until I just go do it... Guess I wasn't as ready as I thought I would be!!! I ordered a Newport ECG online I am still waiting for it. I'm going to see how that goes, wish me luck ladies... Oh and congrats to those who have kicked the habits you truly are strong individuals!!!!

Day 4 of no smokes.. I actually feel ok!

I'm having surgery dec 2 and trying so hard to quit smoking. I'm down to 3-4 a day.

I friggin quit today!!!!!! I bought a nicotine free eCIg and have not had a smoke since last night...... I've been smoking for 15 years!

Thanks so much ladies for your support, I'm down to about 3-4 cigs a day... Hoping to progress from there... I'm already hating the smell but still have the hand/mouth need so I'm am making progress slowly but surely! I'm looking forward to being smoke free and not have to worry about another pack again! I had to quit smoking. I am 26 days smoke free. I quit cold turkey on October 26. Doctor will not operate on a smoker. He says smoking afterward will cause really bad ulcers. It's tough, even still now, bc my husband smokes. First two weeks were tough! I had these raging fits. I was psycho. My family, kids, and husband was really understanding and knew that my anger fits were not in my control and would shrug it off. There was nothing to help soothe the cravings and I felt like a crack head, but it does get less severe. Now surgery is on Dec 20. Get the quit smoking app called quit now. It helps me with showing my stats, like money saved! I will never want to start back, it hurt too much! Good luck!

I intially met with Dr. Ben-Meir, and was excited about him doing my surgery. After he left, I began meeting with Dr. Hassan...He's great. He did my VSG. No complications, no issues. Great guy, personable, smart, articulate and great with the tools. I only have one scar remaining and I'm only 4 weeks post op. Feel confidant that Dr. Hassan is the MAN! His staff also...they are great. No complaints...

I just got approved for my surgery this week. I am really nervous because the Dr. who was supposed to do the surgery has resigned and I was told the new Doctor, Dr. Chandra Hassan will be doing it. I know nothing about this doctor. Has anyone had their surgery done with him at Parma Hospital, Southwest Hospital or St. Vincent Charity in Cleveland? If so please give me your opinion about him.

I also was scheduled to have Dr. Ben Meir do my surgery but he left so suddenly. Dr. Hassan did my surgery June 5th and I was very pleased with him. I also have a friend scheduled later this summer and knew Dr. Hassan from Southwest hospital and had a very good referral for him. Good luck with your decision.
