  1. Oh and let me know if you have questions about tummy tucks. I had the circumferential lower body lift which is more cutting but I can help you understand recovery etc. I am thrilled with my results! I am wearing a bikini this summer for the first time in 23 years. It's a mom bikini (I have big books and like that business covered really well) but it's a bikini! I got it from bare necessities because they have swim stuff made for girls double d and higher. I got a top in a 32 DD and size small bikini bottoms and it is adorable. I wasn't even shy about wearing it at all.

  2. So I went for my 2 year check up this past week. Was a little nervous because I couldn't remember what I weighed in at last year, and I've put on a little this year after switching up my thyroid meds. Anyways, I'm down 4 lbs and that has me at the 80% loss of excess weight! yay! My dr was very happy with my progress. I think I may start looking into Tummy Tuck :)

That is awesome! ! Having thyroid issues I know how wacky that is with metabolism. Yay for you!!

    How were your Vitamin levels??

  3. Went swim suit shopping. Grabbed a 20 for kicks and it fit. It didn't fit like I wanted it to, but it fit comfortably and that is all that matters. I started my journey squeezing into a 24. I haven't fit into a 20 in almost 18 years.

Just think, a year from now and 20s will be far far far in your rear view window!! :)

I just had my 2 year surgaversary in June. I kept one piece of clothing from my largest size, a pair of size 24 petite (oxymoron anyone?) Jeans that I could barely zip up. I am now a zero or two petite depending on cut and actually bought double zero jeans (boyfriend style) from Lucky a couple weeks back. I still pull out my old jeans and plan to use them when I slip. I've done well maintaining but in my mind this is a journey that never ends.

Congratulations on your new suit, enjoy swimming and have a fabulous summer!!!

  4. I bought my first bikini in 20 years! Size small on bottom, 32 DD on top. My husband said it looks great but I am still only wearing it in our home pool. I haven't gotten the courage to wear it to the beach yet. I had a circumferential body lift last November and for the first time since puberty my tummy isn't my trouble area!! :)

  5. Check in day for me!

I was 111.5 this morning, so right in my range. I started logging my food again but still not exercising like I should. I see my doctor and dietician early next week for my 2 year follow up and can't wait for them to see me! I had labs done today and while all the Vitamins aren't back yet, everything else looked perfect so far! I am just thrilled with this new me but don't want to take maintenance for granted. I still have my five lb window of 110 to 115 and as long as I am in that range I am in my zone. Maintaining is harder on me psychologically than losing was. Anyone else struggling with fears and doubts? I worry any slip could spiral me back to 267 lbs....

  6. Check in day for me! I was 112.5 on the scale this a.m. same as last week, maintenance is good! Still haven't worked out much this week but am back in the pool doing laps. food choices have been much better this week! Now, if I could just get my exercise back on track and journal my food and Water....

My 2 year check up is end of next week. Kind of excited for my doctor to see me. Oh and I had someone today who never knew me when I wasn't bigger than 115 tell me I am so tiny and how much they admire the way I dress. It made me feel cute for the first time in 25 years. Seriously. :)

  7. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I know how stressful it is. I went through it last year so I can relate. Try and take time for yourself, it can be impossible in that situation but your health is important too. Losing my mom last year was by far the hardest thing I've ever gone through, but sitting with her and holding her hand, singing songs she sang to me those last six weeks are memories that will never leave me. My thoughts are with you! (((Hugs))))

  8. I am in for the weekly check in as well!! While I am maintaining my weight of 112 to 115, I need the support. Especially after going through with the lower body lift I am not taking any chances of ruining those results. Work has been brutal and my exercise routine sporadic in the last two months.

  9. This is funny, but one I listen to over and over and on and on is Sail On by Lionel Ritchie. There is something in that song that speaks to me when I work out. The song Brandy does the same thing. Maybe it's the letting things go and moving on?

If I want to run, I am embarrassed to say I listen to Abba their music keeps me moving especially the disco crap. Lol

Strength training is all Adele or Norah Jones.

    Weird huh?

  10. i would deff do a consult or two or three....now. How long has it been since you have lost any lbs? if it's been a while, your body may be telling you.... Hey, this is where i belong..... Removing 15-20lbs of skin is a lot.... and if your already a 6 ... i would think that you would end up in 2-4 jeans....

Some ps also do skin donation and will give you a discount.... Never hurts to ask

I was a 6 petite before my lower body lift, and am now a zero. I am petite at 5'2" and small framed. I was 121 on the day of my lower body lift and he took 7 lbs of skin off and I range between 110 and 112 now 4 months later.

  11. Oh..and I shall never give up cheese. As I move further into maintenance I migrate toward small quantities of STRONG cheese. I notice I do that more and more..bring on flavor, fat - but in modest quantity.

I went out tonight and amazingly only "tasted" the most delicious nachos ever made. It makes me feel like a normal human that I didn't need to wolf them.

Agreed! Love strong cheeese, and small quantities give me what I need. I say I've never met a cheese I don't like! Except that processed crap they call "cheese" that starts with a vel and ends with a veeta! ewww!!

  12. Did anyone say why they were quitting cheese?

Agreed! Cheese is good in my mind and I can't understand wanting to give it up? cheese nuts and avocados are high in fat, but they are healthy and I personally think smart choices as long as you measure.

I am about whole foods and to me that means real milk, cream in my coffee, eggs, cheese and even bacon. It is about measuring, acknowledging and eating healthy for me. I am a huge advocate for food Journaling and while there are days I am not as 'clean' as others, I can track using that tool.

I say yay to all cheese! :)

  13. Came home last night! Truthfully, day #2 (Saturday) was horrific pain-wise, and I was crying in agony at several points. I had to spend a second night in the hospital as I could not urinate without the catheter.

However, since then I am improving more and more every hour! I am now able to sit up and walk a bit as well as eat/drink normally. I have switched from Percuset to Tylenol/Codeine and am excited to see myself feeling better in the next few days.

    Thanks all for reading!

Day 2 and 3 were hardest for me. Remember to go slow, rest, eat your Protein and enjoy your new body! I am almost 4 months out now and can't get over how happy I am that I did the plastics!

  14. Thanks for sharing! I have 2 weeks until my Tummy Tuck and am hoping for a good recovery. Can you share anything that would enlighten me on procedure , readiness, pain, aftercare?

    Much appreciated????

Make sure you rest and get plenty of Protein. I wasn't prepared for how long it took me to bounce back but it is so worth it! Having mine near the holidays was good and bad because I was tempted to do more than I should. I am thrilled with the results and proudly maintaining my weight. I am back in the gym several days a week but still have days (today) where my body says rest. Wear your compression garmets, drink tons of Water, don't get the drains pulled too early and did I mention rest? :)

You'll do great and will be thrilled with your results. My tiny body shocks me every day. Luckily my legs, arms and face didn't have skin issues so my circumferential body lift wad all the Plastic surgery I'll need. I could get a breast lift but am honestly ok with the girls. Good luck and get your rest!!

  15. Pearl S. Buck rocks!

Agreed! I read just about everything by her. I love The Good Earth the best though. I think there is a quote in that book about money only lasting two generations and how true that is especially in our society where a work ethic can be a rarity.

  16. I liked Gone Girl but you can't beat the classics. I haven't read East of Eden in 30 years. I need to download it on my Kindle because it is definitely a wonderful book. Have you read The Good Earth by Pearl Buck? I remember loving that book as well.

  17. I live in Florida and am sick of the cold too! I am ready for Spring! I got a fitbit at Christmas and it has helped me stay accountable because I am so OCD about hitting my goals. I changed my strength training routine this week too because I found I was never sore and not even breaking a sweat at the gym. There was a day this week I could barely sit down my thighs were so sore! I am going to change my routine up more regularly.
