FSU GIRL reacted to Blondiee in Skin? Dry, dry, dry, cracking, painful.
I second RJ's recommendation of coconut oil. Good for your skin, hair and cooking. I keep one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen.

FSU GIRL got a reaction from VSG AJH in Protein bars
I found a Protein Bar @ fresh market call Taste Thin. 0 grams sugar 20 grams Protein. Grabbed one to see what it taste like since they are B1G1 right now. Tasted pretty good. I was surprised.

FSU GIRL reacted to Mama Spike in Eyesight any differnt?
I was blurry for a week but the anesthesiologist warned me that the Scopolamine patch would do that.

FSU GIRL reacted to Marykatherine in Eyesight any differnt?
I noticed a vision change after surgery. I didn't think to ask my surgeon about it (wouldn't that be silly. Actually using follow up appointments for asking questions. ...) at any rate, I got my eyes checked. I didn't wait a full year for the next chekup. My eyesight had changed a good deal. Was it the surgery or being 51. My eyesight has always been good, though.
Something to think about.

Yes! I'm 3 weeks out and still not completely right yet. My surgeon said that every body system is affected and it is normal. I'm ready for this to go away.

FSU GIRL reacted to GotItDoneInHarlem in Thoroughly unscientific poll
When you discuss your goal weight do you give the number that your doctor said, or do you give your PERSONAL goal number.
I find that I have higher expectations that my doctor. Like my weight in 2005 when I was most comfortable, healthy, and happy.
You?

FSU GIRL reacted to donaboss in I lost 11lbs in 6 days after surgery OMG

FSU GIRL reacted to endless80 in Back to shakes?
Optifast? Like prepackaged meals and shakes?
You should honestly save yourself the money, buy a good Protein shake and Google or Pintrest low carb recipes or Paleo recipes and go from there. Optifast reminds me too much of my pre sleeved lifestyle... just another program that looks good on the box but is a waste of money and a hassle to maintain.

FSU GIRL reacted to lilbootch in Just curious...
I'm waiting on buying clothes until I'm closer to where I think I will end off on the weight loss. I did however buy a smaller vehicle already. A brand newish Mini Cooper.

I had surgery Monday and everything went smooth as silk!! Thank god for morphine for the first half day. I'm currently not taking any pain meds. No hunger and Protein Shakes going down well. Nut wants me to consume 80 grams of Protein every day with 64 or more of Water.

FSU GIRL got a reaction from Texasmeg in Tomorrow is the day
Well looks like everyone surgery went well. Was nervous well waiting for surgery because all the other women that were in triage with me were having lapband and of course I'm serving guessing my decision they get to go home after surgery. After surgery I was in a lot of pain. Yes the morphin helped but I think it made me more sick then anything. The nausea finally stopped after I told them I was good no more pain meds. Past the leak test they said everything went well waited for the dr to come in so they could start me on a liquid diet well he didn't arrive until 330. Then they started me on Water, Gatorade, watered down Apple juice & broth. I only drank the Gatorade as it was time to go home. So thankful I'm able to lay on my stomach. I want so much to take a shower but my hubby is playing nurse and thinks tomorrow would b a better day for that lol. In 15 yrs he has never missed work and he did for me . I like to be left alone when not feeling well but I will let him help me!! If anyone has pain. Where is it hurting? My incisions do not hurt at all ( I have 7). Mostly hurts turning over or drinking. This thread has been a blessing if it wasn't for all you I know I would've chickened out!!

FSU GIRL reacted to notmeanymore in 3 more days :)
Another thing that made my life easier when I got home from the hospital was a heating pad for your sore tummy and a pill crusher because you probably wont be allowed to swallow large pills. They had me crush mine for a week or two.
Good luck DONABOSS and FSU GIRL. Just remember what everyone has been saying, sip sip sip, walk walk walk. The gas pains were helped tremendously by walking but I couldnt get the energy to do all the walking without sip sip sip.
Check and let us know how everything goes. Yay for you both!

FSU GIRL reacted to linda welker in I shouldn't have watched the video
I had a different reaction altogether. In fact, I was so fascinated I watched several and a couple more than once. People are different, I realize. But for me, knowing what to expect demystified it for me. Hearing the doctors narrate what they were doing was educational and actually assuring. Their voices were steady and confident. They have done it so many times. am still nervous about being sleeved in a couple weeks, so I'm not breezing through this.
You know know psychologists help people deal with their fears via exposure therapy. It feels kind of like that to be. But good luck to you. I wish you peace.

FSU GIRL reacted to Hidden from view in I shouldn't have watched the video
Yup, I can relate. Even as i was lying on the operating table, I was thinking "nooo!". But the next minute i was asleep, and the minute after that I woke up sleeved, and 2 months later I am in onederland!
Do it! You will not regret it. It is truly like starting a new life :-)

FSU GIRL reacted to Fluffnomore in I shouldn't have watched the video
Ha! I felt like I was in some sort of weird Neverland the entire time in pre-op. Like, "This can't be happening. Oh my god, this can't be happening."
It happened.
