crazzeescrapper reacted to snowkitten in Having a hard day today and feeling like a failure
@@crazzeescrapper I had a very similar issue! I had a stomach flu for 2 weeks. The throwing up really messed with my stomach so I had horrible esophageal spasms and gastritis. I ended up only able to eat carbs too. But boy those are called sliders for a reason! Goes down easy and the calories add up!

Thank you all for the encouragment, reality check... and kick in the butt ( @@LipstickLady ) lol. I really do hate to fall into the pity party mode. I'm generally a very positive person but this week things just hit HARD. I'm very happy I have a place to go where people know how I feel and give me reminders.
Your all right, the time line my dr gave me isn't fair. He doesn't have the best of bedside manner. For example, when I asked him what size my Bougie was, he scoffed at me and acted like I was an idiot. He was also upset at me when I'd only lost 50 lbs when I saw him at 5 mths post op. I think that last one is why I'm so upset with my current loss. I see him next week and i really dread seeing his disapointment.
I AM very proud of my loss so far. If I don't lose another pound (which I'm too stubborn to let happen) then it would have been worth it. I really believe this saved my life.

If you want chocolate have chocolate! For me I do so many positive things to stay healthy (eating right and exercise everyday). My one snack size piece of chocolate is not going to push me off track. I don't eat it every day. I make sure I work for it. I just make my treat something to reward myself. I've given up rice, Pasta and breads. I'm not going to go through life without ANY chocolate ever .

Wow, So sad to see someone waste the chance to get their life back. Even sadder is the effect all the family dysfunction is having on the son. My heart breaks for the boy.

crazzeescrapper got a reaction from jess9395 in What Are Some Things You Can't Wait for POST OP?
Can't wait to come home and not be glued to the couch all night due to lack of energy.
Never been a runner, but for some reason I want to be able to run for exercise.
Stop wearing sleep apnea mask!
Cross my legs, don't ever recall being able to do so.
Not worrying about fitting in booths or how sturdy outdoor furniture is.
Shopping in normal size clothing stores and not paying $60 for a pair of pants.
Being able to ride at amusement parks. I live 30 minutes from hershey park, plan on getting a season pass next year!
Not feeling like everyone is looking at you when you're in public.
Having my husband and son benefit from the new healthily eating and getting them more active with me.
Actually being in photos instead of always taking them.
Many more that I can't think of right now. I see July 24 as the start of many good changes to come

crazzeescrapper got a reaction from lessofmevsg in 41 years old and torn between sleeve and RNY... any advice?
Hi. I had all the same issues as you and concerns as you with a slow thyroid. My ac1 before surgery was 9.5 and my family doctor wanted me to start insulin. After talking with my sleeve surgeon I decided to have the sleeve. Had my post op blood work done almost exactly 3 months post surgery. Ac1 was down to 6.3, which falls into pre diabetic category. I still crave sugar but can be satisfied now with a very small amount (at least compared to what I ate before). I can satisfy my craving with one fun size candy bar or a couple hershey kisses. I don't eat candy everyday, but still have it. I use sugar fee Jello a lot to help with the sugar cravings. Cake used to be my absolute favorite, but now it just doesn't taste as good as it used to. A couple bites and I'm usually done with cake. You're taste buds will change after surgery. Just wanted to let you know you the sleeve can be an option if you would want to still be able to have the occasional treat. I have never experienced the dumping syndrome from sugar or anything else. Was sleeved 7/24 @ 295, today I'm at 247, 46 years old. Consider myself a slower loser but my hypothyroid probably contributes to that.
Good luck with whatever surgery you decide to go with.
