    Looking for July Sleevers!

I booked my day of 7/24 in early June and just got a call that they are not sure now if the doctor will be available that day to do my surgery. I'm freaking out. Scheduled that far out to work around vacations at work and other things, will be ticked off if he can't do it now. I don't want another doctor to do it because my doctor is the top surgeon in the area for this surgery. AUGH!! Why can't things ever work out like they are supposed to. Now I'm playing the wait game for a call back to advise if I need to move my date.
  2. My doctor does not require any weight loss and no pre-op diet. Was told to just eat light for 2 days before surgery. However I want to do a pre-op diet on my own to ease the adjustment of eating such a smaller amount. My insurance didn't have any required supervised diet requirement, but my surgeon requested that I saw the NUT twice. It's crazy how much the rules vary from each doctor and insurance company.

    Labor day Challenge

I will be doing a pre-op diet and getting sleeved during this challenge, so not sure what I should make my goal. Sleeve date is 7/24. Starting and current weight. 295 Goal weight. 260. Thanks! Tracy
  4. Hello. For years I have noticed several lumps on my arms. When I asked my doctor she states they are harmless and just hard fatty deposits. Recently these lumps appear larger and I'm now founding them all over my body. Has anyone else experienced this? Do they shrink when you lose weight? My surgery is July 24 and they are noticeably easy to see now with all my fat. I'm worried when I start losing I'm going to look like I have internal mumps or something!

    Fatty deposit lumps under skin

How do they remove them? Can it be done in a doctor office or is it a surgery? Thanks

    July 28 Sleevers

My DR office won't tell me if I'm the 1st or last surgery for the day. Due to things going on at work, I scheduled this far enough out that I should be the 1st! I have to wait for the call the night before to tell me what time to be there. I'm impatient so not knowing is driving me nuts . I finished my last pre-op requirement yesterday. It's feeling real now!!

    July 28 Sleevers

I'm being sleeved on 7/24 in P.A., can't wait to have it done. Feels like it,s never getting here!
  8. Kd5wrz, love your avatar! Heisenburg, LOL. I too agree with what everyone else is saying. The odds of dying under anesthesia is very low, I would rather take the chance to improve my overall health.
  9. I've seen a lot of post regarding people not being able to meet their daily fluid levels for the first couple weeks post-op. Just wondering if anyone COULD get all of the recommended ounces in shortly after surgery?

    Meeting daily fluid requirements

Good to know its not impossible, Thanks for the feedback.
  11. Can't wait to come home and not be glued to the couch all night due to lack of energy. Never been a runner, but for some reason I want to be able to run for exercise. Stop wearing sleep apnea mask! Cross my legs, don't ever recall being able to do so. Not worrying about fitting in booths or how sturdy outdoor furniture is. Shopping in normal size clothing stores and not paying $60 for a pair of pants. Being able to ride at amusement parks. I live 30 minutes from hershey park, plan on getting a season pass next year! Not feeling like everyone is looking at you when you're in public. Having my husband and son benefit from the new healthily eating and getting them more active with me. Actually being in photos instead of always taking them. Many more that I can't think of right now. I see July 24 as the start of many good changes to come

    Soup question?

Same with mine. Was told unless it's thick like a stew to try to avoid.

Question for all the "post op's"

PA here too, about 20 minutes south of Harrisburg where I'm having my surgery.

    Hair Loss

I'm still pre-op and had a dream last night that I ended up being bald after surgery. I'm not talking a little spot, bald above the ears and with a shiny top like a guy. It sounds petty, but losing my hair is my top concern about having surgery. I used to have super thick hair and for the last 5 years it has been getting noticeably thinner on the top. Would be a cruel irony since I have too much hair in other places. I guess if I end up needing a wig, it's still better than being fat.

Has anyone seen this? Soooo cool!

That was neat, but needed an option for "fat all over", LOL. The hour glass had too much of a waist for my build.
  18. Hello. I'm in the same situation as you and also being sleeved on 7/24! I was thinking about doing protein shakes for breakfast and lunch starting tomorrow. However my friend that had surgery in January keeps telling me to eat while I can. I'm afraid if I keep eating what I want it's going to be too much of a drastic change post op. Bought a second Ninja blender to take to work, so I really should start doing shakes!

    Any july surgery dates?

Don't mean to be paranoid, but is the page really private? Won't show up on my friends pages that I joined or commented?

    Approved!

Congrats! My surgery is July 24 too. I didn't realize it's only 4 weeks, yikes!
  24. I struggled with this too. Originally I thought I wasn't going to tell anyone, but decided to tell my boss and the person that is my back-up. Both of them have their own weight issues, so that helps with deciding to tell them.. I work in a small office and have known them both for 10 years, it's a pretty close group . They were very supportive of my decision and promised to not tell anyone else. Which I believe they haven't because you can tell when other people know stuff by the way they act. Plus some of them still wouldn't be able to keep themselves from saying something to me. I explained I didn't want to tell other people until I return because I don't want to hear the questions and opinions before getting it done. I think it's going to be impossible to keep the secret after I return, which I'm ok with. I'm at piece with my decision to get this done and won't care what they think afterwards. There is not much of a turnover at my job, so most people know I've been struggling with weight since they've known me. I'm honestly going to be surprised if people will have negative comments after I tell them. Then again you never know!
