  1. Definitely give your doc a call. Wont hurt and will ease your mind....please keep us posted....
  2. I know what you mean, there is just so much to learn and right when you think you may be understanding, you realize that you don't...lol But at least I'm not alone thanks to this site...
  3. I worry that I've stretched my band because obviously 1/2 cup of food 3 times a day isn't going to satisfy me. But then again is it possible to stretch a band/pouch when there was nothing in the band to start with? And now that there is something in my band am I gonna stretch it because 1/2 a cup still isn't getting it? Oh so many questions. I'm thinking about calling my doctors office on Monday and saying "hey I'm not really noticing anything with the fill I just got". But I'm afraid they will think imjust not trying. Any words of advice out there ????
  4. You are so right. I've let myself get discouraged so quickly. I didn't realize that I wouldn't have fill in my band immediately after surgery or that I may take months to get to where my band is working. No ones fault but my own, because I failed to research enough. Or had I found this site a year ago I Would of been a lot more prepared. But you are right with God all things are possible and without him I never would have gotten this insurance with the insurance I have. It was definitely a God thing.
  5. sorry not sure why your "quote" appeared three times in my post..
  6. I am so glad you asked this question. I got my first fill on wednesday, got 4.5 cc...and to be honest I really can't tell anything happened...I'm still hungry and still able to eat more than I THINK I should...and to be even more honest Im starting to be afraid that maybe it's not going to work for me??? I know it's way way to early to even be thinking that, but the thought is running through my head Im just curious how many fills people have gotten to get to their green zone. Ive had 4 now and I still feel like I need another one but I also feel like im having a lot of fills. Im doing good on my weight loss (lost 45 lbs since September) but I still feel hungry in between meals. Ill eat and get full and then an hour later be hungry again. So it would help if I knew of other peoples experiences. Thanks
  7. I know EVERYONE is different and I know surgeons do things differently. But I would like to start a survey to see how many CC's you got in your band on the FIRST fill.....and how many you currently have. Thanks
  8. i am almost 7 months out from surgery. I have had 2 fills of half cc each. I have the total of 1cc in my band. I can eat anything, and I am not losing. I go next Wednesday for another fill........hope it helps... hmmmm my very first fill was a total of 4.5 cc and so far all I notice is that sometimes things seem to get stuck when I don't chew them well enough. I'm trying to pay more attention to make sure I'm not eating past "satisfied" but I've only been cleared of liquids since last night so it's actually too early for me to tell...
  9. No I haven't...thank you so very very much....
  10. I had my first fill yesterday. Got 4.5cc. I'm on liquids for 24 hours then back to regular foods I guess. I'm wondering, I don't notice all that much difference, though I must say the bite of hamburger I pushed in my mouth and swallowed yesterday (yes I know it wasn't liquid I just wasn't thinking) without chewing well sure put up a fight for about 30 minutes...I'll not be doing that again anytime soon you can bet your money on that. I'm hungry, and though I can't eat as much as I could before the fill...I still feel I'm eating more than I should...yes it was tomato Soup....but I was expecting to only be able to eat like 1/4 of the can instead of 2/3. Will it/can it get better after a fill. I know I've read how the band is sometimes too tight right after a fill and everyone says be patient give the swelling time to go down....but can it also go the other way - can it get tighter/better??? or is it because I'm eating/drinking liquids only that I feel I'm eating too much? Sorry for all the rambling...
  11. Libb, I'm confused on your reply to chasingadream....what "graphic" did she/he include? If you are talking about the ruler that appears below each of our posts I'm sure they meant nothing by it as it's a "signature" that is attached automatically (once we add them) and not something that she/he added to upset you.
  12. I'm right there with you. First week was a breeze, then the hunger came back in full force. Thankfully (keeping fingers crossed) my first fill we be on 2/26 IF I have healed and IF this hematoma has been absorbed into my body......
  13. Question. What is your favorite Protein shake mix? I used one from my surgeons office and it was awesome. Just take packet and mix with 8 oz of Water and it tasted like Nestle Quik. It was great. Only it's $75 for 30 servings. Does anyone got one that's as good and easy as this? Thanks
  14. I'm kind of curious, where did you decide to go?
  15. yes there were restrictions, I'm now in the "mush/mush" stage of eating..lol But I pretty much just stick to eating soup (cream of chicken, or chicken broth with crackers that have gotten real soft).....I'm not eating real food, except for the dinner I tried with my husband. Just kicking myself and wondering what if I messed everything up with trying the food too soon....just worrying...lol Thank you all for the comments it's great knowing people that have been there, are at the end of my finger tips ready to help.
  16. I have a question. I was banded on January 17, 2014. NO FILL in my band to date. For the first 5 days after surgery I was not hungry and actually unable to eat because I felt like I had just eaten Thanksgiving dinner. About all I could consume was coffee and sip on a Protein shake..Day six the hubby fixed taco salad for dinner....and nothing doing but I fixed a small portion of lettuce/tomato and a couple spoons of the "hamburger" fixture....I was able to eat this and swallow it without choking or chewing till it liquefied. WITH NO PROBLEMS. the only thing I noticed was the small amount filled me completely. Now I'm terrified that because I can eat, that something is wrong with my band/stomach/pouch...have I totally messed things up by eating non-liquid foods? HELPPPPPPPP
  17. I was banded on January 17, 2014. I did NOT receive any fill in my band during surgery, and will not receive any until the end of February. The first 5 days after surgery, I felt like I had eaten Thanksgiving dinner, ALL DAY...I could only drink coffee and a little of my Protein shake. The 6th day my husband fixed taco salad for dinner. I tried some lettuce, tomato and a little shredded cheese and about two spoons of the hamburger mixture. I ate it without having to chew chew chew ...the only thing I noticed was the small amount actually made me feel full, maybe a little too full. Most days I eat Soup, coffee and some Water (I am NOT getting in my needed amount of water or protein and need to work on this) but some days I will also have dinner that is NOT liquid or blended. I'm getting concerned that because I CAN eat, that I have done something to my band/pouch/tummy. Any advice out there?
  18. Idid your doctor put fill in ur band during surgery or did u have to wait a while to get the full?
  19. Hello e everyone. I was banded on January 17th. Doing great so far. I have a question. When do you normally get fill in it band? I don't have any in mine yet.
  20. Gas pain about to kill me. Hurts to take a deep breath. Is this normal or is something more wrong. I do not have any fill in my band yet.
  21. First let me say "I'm not a cook"..lol...second I'm doing my preop liquid diet....on this diet I purchased the "food" from my doctors office, Protein shakes, some kind of protein soup and the only food of substance I have is a Protein Bar. My question to this group is, does anyone have or know how to make chicken flavored soup without chicken or anything else....? I also have a cream of broccoli and cream of tomato that aren't very good at all, wondering if I could make a cream of broccoli that taste better?
  22. I just noticed that yesterday I seem to be having the same problem....hmmmm is this a side affect of so much Protein or lack of "real" food...lol I'm on day 3 and was realizing that mine haven't either! I was thinking of taking a pill tonight too!
  23. I'm on day 2 of my preop diet. I get for Breakfast an 8oz Protein shake; for snack a fat free Jello or pudding; lunch is another Protein shake (these shakes are made with Water, no milk allowed on this preop diet) and some kind of powdered Soup (1cup) that is nothing but water and a chicken bullion then another snack of jello or pudding OR I can have a Protein Bar...dinner is again soup and a protein shake...add 64 oz of water a day and that's my life till this Friday at 8am. My concern is that I was supposed to do this preop diet for 10 days (some people only have to do 7 days depends on BMI) not the 6.5 days it's gonna be. I was called Friday afternoon and told my surgery is this coming Friday...not enough days for 10 days of liquids ... fearful it won't be enough...
