Grateful for the "Adjustable" part of the Lapband
I'm hoping so, cause I can't imagine trying to move without it. I can go one day without it, but by day two every joint I have hurts and doesn't want to bend/move like it's supposed to...

Bruising post op

Grateful for the "Adjustable" part of the Lapband
I take Celebrex.....I was banded on January 17th....I being the goofy person I am, didn't realize Celebrex was an anti-inflammatory so you can imagine how I flipped when I read these post. Immediately got on the phone with my doctors office and was told as long as I take my Celebrex with food I will be fine...most of their patients take Celebrex and have not had any trouble....still I worry. :/

Is it just me?
this "valgus" nerve you refer to...where is it located (sorry I could google that couldn't I?) the reason I ask is you say that the band being tighter leads to pressure on the valgus nerve and that is what I would use to describe what I'm feeling. I had a stomach bug a week ago...I feared I had dislocated my band, but went to my doc and he did an ultra sound and all was well....but I'm still feeling this pressure (perfect word) in the front at the top of my stomach.... right under the band of my bra. to be exact....when I went to the doc last week and he did the ultra sound and saw that it was where it was supposed to be, he also added another cc....for a total of 5.5cc.....is it normal that I can "feel" this tightness/pressure, especially of the morning.....and boy has it put an end to my eating bread and rice..lol

Is it just me?
I find that my band is much tighter of the morning...as the day wears on, I too get hungrier and can eat more at the evening meal than I've eaten all day..... I would love to find a couple weeks worth of "menus" for folks that have had lap band surgery....I suck at figuring all this out and find myself eating the same thing over and over and I know I'm gonna burn out soon...

OUCH!
heat and serve pulled pork????? Like BBQ pork? How much should we be eating??? 4 oz, 1/2 cup, or a cup of food each meal? or how should I be measuring my food?

I can eat pretty much anything :(
2muchfun, thanks for the satiety signals...nice to know what to look for....I need to work on the "I'm not hungry, but darn that was good and I'm gonna eat 2 more (ok maybe 3) bites...I know that's a learning/changing habit that I need to work on.....

I can eat pretty much anything :(
Some bread I can eat, like toast, but give me a biscuit and I think I'm gonna die when it gets stuck...cause it always does..lol Rice, yelp gets stuck too....I've never thrown any of it back up, but it has me walking the floor with me rubbing my hurting chest wishing I hadn't eaten that bite... I'm at 5.5cc and I was expecting more...I just got another CC on Wednesday..I can tell a slight difference, but still expected more. Oh well maybe next fill

Surgery Date March 26th
mine doesn't..I never feel a thing.

Surgery Date March 26th
I was banded on 1/17 and I have lost 26 pounds in 8 weeks. I did not have any fill in my band for the first 5 weeks... The weight loss is slower but there is nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned...I will tell you something I wasn't aware of and that is until the band is "adjusted/filled" properly, you are more or less just on another diet. Now with that said, I wouldn't have changed my mind and had the sleeve or gastric bypass for all the quick weight loss in the world...lol Just be prepared so that you aren't disappointed...you will hit the "green zone" and the weight will come off. Welcome and good luck.

Is that tightness I feel?
ok, I had a horrible stomach virus this weekend...thankfully for Pheregren I only tossed my Cookies violently 3 times....and on top of that, it's almost that TOM....with that said, it seems to me that now when I lay flat on my back I can feel the tightness of my band...is that crazy? Is it just muscles that are sore from being sick or has my band tightened because of the TOM or have I done something to my band? When will I quit worrying that I've done something to my band??? LOL

Tightness during that time of the month
Glad I saw this too. My question also is this "tightness" everyone is describing, does it also seem that when you are laying flat of your back, that you can "feel, without touching" (does that make ANY sense?) your band? I swear I can feel the tightness when I'm laying down on my back...at least I hope that's what it is. I had the horrible stomach virus that's been going around and had a few bouts of tossing my Cookies but thank God to phenegren it wasn't but 3 times....so I'm hoping either 1. I'm feeling the tightness or 2. My muscles are just sore and I feel them, and NOT that I messed up my band....do we ever quit worrying that we messed up our bands??? LOL

Depressed, discouraged. No Weight Loss, Hungry, Help!
NOW I'm confused. you had 5cc but couldn't eat so you had 1cc removed and it left you with 1cc? Either I don't know how to count my cc's or there's a typo...lol How are you at a 9.2cc in a 10cc band. I had my surgery in December 2013 and went in for my 2nd fill this past week. and she put in 5cc..I couldnt get anything except liquids down.So I went back in and had her take out 1cc to leave me at a 1cc. WOW..you probably cant eat anything.Impressive. Way to go!

Are the fills painful?
My "bulge" ended up being a hemotoma...has your doctor did an ultra sound to make sure that no Fluid (blood) has formed under your band? that is what mine was and I had to wear an abdominal belt for a week and it went away....call your doctor..

Could use some help
I feel your frustration. I was banded on 1/17 and have lost 25 lbs...and just got some fill in my band last week (didn't have anything up till then) ....and I'm having the same issues as you...but bread is giving me problems (guess I shouldn't be eating it anyway..lol)....I don't care much for the Protein bars either, so I do the GNC Total Lean Protein shake...Strawberries and cream tastes like a milk shake, the chocolate wasn't all that good (only protein could mess up chocolate..didn't think it was possible..lol) My main problem is 4 oz or 1/2 cup isn't filling me up, or keeping me not hungry for 4-5 hours...but I have also been reassured that this is a process and will take time and the Green Zone is soon to be ours...just keep holding in there.... Good luck..

Another great protein find!
I think I will too, I'm gonna have to wipe the drool off my key board...lol
-
Another great protein find!
that sounds awesome. You say you made "lettuce" wrapped? What type of lettuce did you use? Tell me everything you put on it...please, you have my mouth drooling..lol

Are the fills painful?
No, least ways mine wasn't. I've heard that some doctors use a needle to give numbing solution, but my doctor used a topical that was just rubbed on. Didn't feel a thing. Don't look at the needle, it is long but in no way does it all go into your stomach/port...

First fill today
I can totally relate....with my first fill I got 4.5 cc's before the "drinking water" trick made me burp..lol but after a day or so, felt no restriction whatsoever while eating. the funny thing is, I can wear clothes that I haven't been able to wear for 2 years and they are baggy in places, which is awesome, but I sure wish the scales would reflect that ...
