Hey Candysmooch, Couldn't post for awhile. I had all sorts of trouble logging on. Dr. Jose Rodriguez did my surgery. I thaught dr. malley had flouro. I was kicking around going in to him to make sure it looked ok in there. w/ the flipped port. My restriction i did have is gone now. So i have been worried about this. Love my doc , but she doesn't have flouro. Anyone w/ any ideas on who to go to get this checked out??? Thanks, shagamelic

sthomas, I think if you talk to most doctors you will have a self-pay price. Talk to patients of doctors and research , research ,research. Some people have difficulties and some breeze thru. I had an infection set into my large incision, but was able to take care of it w/ extra round of antibiotics. I was off for the summer so i wasn't working, but i could have worked w/ that. Wannabesmall, I was banded on the first of June. I think my imagination is taking over. I am thinking of all the things that could go wrong, instead of how right it is going. I am worried that w/ the port moving that it could break away from the line , or a needle could have pierced the line when trying to hit the port. I really feel the restriction today. They have concentrated cranberry softgels at Wal-Mart. I have had a little problem w/ this since my surgery. shagamelic

Hey everyone, Just wanted to drop a line. I went to my doc for my first fill this week. What a deal!!!! She couldn't find it. So i had to go get an xray. My port is in the middle of my stomache right in front of the spinal colom(SP) . she said it looked like it was sideways. She finally found it , but had alot of trouble getting into the port. She said she has never had this many probs. Her patient load was so backed up she took care of them and let me go somewhere for awhile and we tried about 1 1/2 hours later. She finally hit it , but all the fill she put in didn't come back out. So we are unsure how much is in there. I think i am feeling much more satisfied with less. We poked around so much i was worried about getting a hole in the tubing. My doc was a real sweetie about the whole thing!!! I was so worried about it not working that ended up crying over it. Why i am not for sure, maybe just such an emotional rollercoaster. Worry about revision surgery?? Who would do that?? How much?? I sure don't want to make another trip to Mexico right now w/ school starting. Maybe this will work. Anyone else have this many probs w/ their port. shagamelic

I had to reply to this post. Loved everyone's input. My fill doc is putting me on hormones. I had a hyterectomy five years ago, i was only 33. All the scare about the synthetic hormones came out, so i just quit taking them. My fill doc told me this summer that testosterone is very important for women too!!! Number one it helps with the way our body holds on to the fat on our bodies. So i started last week on naturally compounded hormones. I am unsure it has made a diff yet!!!! Just thaught everyone might find that informative. shagamelic

My doctor recommended Cascara Sagrada 450mg. I get mine at Wal-Mart, it is from Spring Valley. I take one a day in the evening. I also take a vit. c supplement. shagamelic

I think you are doing wonderful. Try measurment. I was told to take my measurements monthly, because the scale will not give you a true picture. shagamelic

Hey girl, She sounds like a very unhappy person. They always have to make everyone around them as unhappy as they are. You stick in there monday. Your friends will know her for what she is. I am sure she has made many insulting remarks to other people you work with. shagamelic

rsduhe, I pmd wannabetiny to let me know how your visit went. Just in case i need a different doctor. I told the receptionist at Dr. Malley's office i thaught they needed to hold up their agreement to do my aftercare. She said they were not obligated to me. Hey Shortney, Yes, I found a doctor. It all worked out for the best. It is funny how the lemonade taste so good from the lemons tossed your way!!! The doctor I found is a woman and she put me in touch with a support group in my area. She also hooked me up with some really good protien drink mix. She was full of ideas. So I am doing great. I have lost 2" off of my waist, and 23 pounds since my surgery on June 1. Hope everyone else is doing great. shagamelic

I had the same question Marimaru. What is lapband w/ rerouting. Do they rearrange you so you don't absorb everything??? I will have to google that. I too watched the View and was very disappointed. Not what I expected. I found out about the band last November when they had an article in Womens World magazine. I wish now i had saved that article. This is what led me here. I have been lurking around since then. Just starting to feel more comfortable posting. shagamelic

This is so weird. I went walking today and when i came home sat down for a few, and when i got up i did something to my back in a place that never bothers me. So i have been browsing the new posts wondering if i should go get adjusted or not. I am 3 wks post and now i think i will try ice and tylenol and maybe that will work. shagamelic

Are you getting enough protien?? My doc told me i would feel run down if i didn't. I am with everyone else i think you should have your meds evaluated. Keep posting!! shagamelic

Thaught I would let everyone know that I called today to make a fill appt with Dr. Malley. I called in May and really liked the girl I talked to and they told me no problem with being banded in MX he would do my aftercare. When i called today they are now charging $2000.00 for a 12-month period, for patients that didn't have surgery with him. I thaught i had a doctor lined out who would be there if anything would happen. Really disappointed. shagamelic

You can get those butterfly strips at Wal-Mart. That would help it to stay together. shagamelic

Sherry, I was banded on June 1. I try to get in around 60 grams of protiens a day. Starvation mode may be it. Are you drinking plenty of Water?? I buy the bottled water in 20 oz. bottles so i can keep track of it. Also if you up your protiens you won't be as likely to loose muscle. There is a thread on here about protien shakes. Which ones are best ect... These are a good way to get in your protien. Hope this helps. Everyone else will chime in here later. shagamelic

I have been using the slimfast low carb vanilla. It has 20 grams of protien. This is because it is at wal mart. I don't have a GNC in town. Heather thanks for the web site . Lots of stuff on there. shagamelic

You might try some Vit. C cream. I have some I use on my face, and my scar right under my bra was itching so bad, that i used the c cream. It has healed over so well i have been putting it on the other three. shagamelic
