Anyone start sround 300 at 5,7"?

I was 303lbs my first visit with the surgeon, it's been about 7.5 months since my surgery, I'm 5'4" and now weigh 203.5 lbs. Some days and days are so slow and others there's weight loss. Just remember this is for life. I'm so glad I had my sleeve done. Good luck on your journey. I don't come onto this site often because I think it's hard for me. It can get me down if I compare myself to others. I am doing great and keep reminding myself. Robyn

    clothes

I'm down 64 lbs pre surgery weight, I had so many clothes in about 3 different sizes. It was neat to start trying on all the clothes that didn't fit anymore. My closet has never been so bare in my life, but boy those clothes are looking good on me. I'm about 1/2 way there and so I'm buying a few new things at a time - that's the treat for doing so well. I bagged up my clothes and took them to my bariatric Dr's office. They have a box that people can go through. If they are around for awhile, they donate them. I know that I never want to go back to where I was. It is a scary thought, though isn't it? Good luck to all of my fellow sleevers. God, isn't it great to paint your toenails without being out of breath. Yeah.

Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

I had my surgery on 11/11/13, have lost 19.7 lbs so far, it is sometimes frustrating when nothing happens for 4 - 5 days and then I will start to lose small amounts. With reading all of these posts, I have found that there's no normal to the amount of weight loss. We are all losing something, some of us are taking longer than others but we are all making progress. The stalls are going to happen and we have to remember that we aren't eating what we used to. We CAN'T let the scale take over our feelings of progress. Way to go my fellow sleevers. One question, has anyone had issues where they eat something they've eating before without a problem and the same amount as previously and they feel the fullness in their throat until they get sick. I've done this about 4 different times and it's usually not food, just phlegm. Some days food just doesn't go down as well. Let me know if you've experienced this.

2lb gain at 10 days post op?

ChangingMichelle, I hear you girl. It's been such a life long issue with watching the scale, our mood changes depending on what the scale said. They pumped a lot of fluids in me in the hospital, I too gained but it came off quickly once it did. It took about 4 days after the surgery for me but I know we're all different. I will have 4-5 days without any weight loss and then the next few days losing a few ounces to a few pounds. I am exercising and eating as I was told. It's been 5 weeks and my starting weight was 282lbs the day of surgery, now I'm 262.3 lbs, not exceptional like some of the people that post on here but I can say it is coming off - slowly but surely. Hang in there, I know you will be successful. We didn't gain it overnight and I guess, it's not coming off overnight. My biggest problem is trying to get all the fluids in. We can only keep at it and success has to follow. Good luck to all of you fellow sleevers......
  6. I had my surgery 11/11/13, I too have had periods of depression due to #'s on the scale. My surgeon told me he expected me to lose about 1 lb a day at first. At 4 weeks post op I was down about 16 lbs, I am now about 19.5lbs in a 5 weeks. I gained weight from the day I went into surgery until about 3-4 days post op due to all the IV fluids they gave me, then 7 lbs went off quickly. After the 1st week, I would lose a pound or two, have 3-4 days without any weight loss and then lose 1/2 lb to 1 lb. It would do that off and on. I have been exercising and eating as prescribed. It is frustrating especially when I weighed 282 lbs the day of surgery. I have to remember that we are all different, I'm not gaining, it's coming off slowly but it's coming off. I have more energy than I've had in a long time. Good luck to all of you. I wish you all success. I too know what a mental issue the weight has been in our lives. Robyn

    New And Hoping For January

I just had my sleeve operation on 11/11/13. The prep diet for 2 weeks was tough but doable because I new it was something I had to do to have the surgery. Surgery day was tough, not so much the pain - they took care of that whenever I asked, just sore, tired and weak. Every day has been better and today I almost feel normal. Good luck to you in the next month or so. It goes by fast. Just keep in mind how much we wanted this. Robyn

    November 11Th Sleevers

I am an 11/11/13 vertical sleeve pt also. I had my surgery done in Wyandotte, MI. The first day was rough, my pulse was in the 39-50 range and the monitor kept beeping. Anytime I would move it would go in the normal limits. I couldn't get much sleep with the monitor beeping and so I found that if I walked I could keep the pulse up (the monitor from beeping), keep the SCD stockings off and get on my way home faster. Went home the next evening and no more pain meds. The gas pain in my shoulders and chest pain from gas was bad but it mostly gone now. It took about 3 days to get lower than me pre surgery weight due to all the Water weight. The small amounts of food I can have tastes wonderful and I'm waiting to upgrade the diet weekly. The walking is going well and I feel almost normal. I am wishing everyone health and success on our wonderful journey together. I am 5'4", was 303lbs at my heaviest, now at 274lbs and can't wait to be able to move this body easier and be healthier. Good luck to all.

    Robyn's Journey

    My weight loss journey
  10. Hi, my name is Robyn and I had my vertical sleeve surgery on 11/11/13. I have lived through the first week, the gas pain and am feeling almost normal. It was wonderful to eat some grits and oatmeal and not feeling hungry all the time. The 2 week diet prior to surgery was something I did because that was what was required. It was tough, I felt hungry most of the time, was discouraged that the weight seemed to slowly change but was nothing compared to what I thought it would be with so little intake. The gas pain after the surgery was the worst of the surgery but that changed and became better every day. I am looking forward to slowly increasing the food options and continuing to eat to live. I am a food lover but am very dedicated to my rebirth of a better me. Congratulations to all of you in your weight loss.

44 and sending fat out the door!

I had my vertical sleeve surgery on 11/11/13. I had to do the pre-op diet and that was tough but worth all the efforts to have the surgery. I am 8 days post-op and feel so much better. The surgery day is tough but remember every day got so much better. Think of the goal. I am 45 years old and it's time I take my life back. Your surgery was today and I wish you the best of luck. Move as much as you can. My biggest pain and problem after surgery was the gas pain, it felt like chest pain and severe back/shoulder pain. It got much better, especially after 1 week after surgery. I will look forward to your progress. From Bonogirl.
