I have to share this. I finished 5 day pouch test today and weighed in at a 6.4 pound loss. This proves to me that diet is everything in weight loss. I regained 33 pounds while vigorously exercising 5 days per week. This does not mean I will stop my exercise routing for health, toning and help with loss but diet is the real key. I am going to seriously consider the 5:2 diet to help with get the rest of the weight off and help maintain. Another plus has been a feeling of power over constant carb craving and the power of Portion Control. Happy to be back on this site.

I agree it is a lifetime project, but I would also like to point out that for many normal weight people it is also a life time project....people who have NEVER had weight problems also gain weight, they notice it, they cut back, they get to the gym, they pay attention to how their clothes fit, they take care of that 2 or 3 or 5 lb weight gain that happens when you live your life! They may not have had to lose 50-100 or more lbs like we all did, but the fact is, WE DID and we are right there with them now because this surgery gave us that opportunity. So now, with the support of everyone here, we can say, OK then....I'm up a few lbs and I have lots of choices of how to get rid of those (5:2, th3 5 Day Pouch Test, more exercise, cutting out eating at night for a week or so, fill in the blank for the right choice for YOU. And remind yourself that what ever you decide to do, it isn't for a full month, or a full year, that finally this is NOT overwhelming and at least for me, before this surgery, whatever the diet choice of the month was, I just knew I would fail....now I know I won't!!!! I also have old habits creep in, so you know what? I indulge them, but in small amounts and I also do the 5:2. And when I'm not perfect on the 5:2, I at least always have two days a week that are NO WINE/NO COOKIE days...(because those are my two downfalls). And at 3.5 years post of and 61 years old, I am at goal and I feel great. Just say NO to pity parties because we have all come way too far and we are closer to our healthier selves than we are to our old selves....

It's always good to hear from you veterans that continue to fight the good fight, even years after surgery. Your stories are one of the most important benefits of BP membership. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us!!!!

    I need a reset too!!!
I was sleeved 04/03/2012...not one complication and loved it! It's the best thing I've ever did for myself. I do tell my friends that it's the easiest but also the hardest thing...Easy because the weight just fell off but hard because it's always a mental game. Ahhh but I digress...
My lowest recorded weight was 159lbs...although I think my lowest was at 148lbs (after gall bladder surgery). I am now at 182lbs. GRR...I'm so disappointed in myself BUT I know that I can do it. I want this 20lbs off and I will get it off. I've been planning my meals and starting trying to get in my Water (emphasis on trying) and I start bikram yoga this weekend.
    160..you're calling my name!
    Wish Me Luck !
PS. If anyone needs an accountability partner...let me know

I need this. Finding head hunger is at times out of control and I really want the last 10 lbs to come off.
I admit to rarely hitting my Fluid goals but then my program always just says minimum of 48 oz per day. I hit that usually but can not seem to get more than around 50 or 55 oz. Sleeve still doesn't tolerate fluids too well.
So it's just shake, Water til 1st Fluid goal, yogurt, more Water til 2nd fluid goal, Protein and then Protein?
    I'm down.

Ok- I have mentioned in some posts about bad behaviors that crept back in which prevented me from reaching goal, and added a little more to my struggles. A few people indicated they were in a similar spot, and would love to have an accountability partner. So here goes:
After the surgery, it was too easy to lose weight. i was never hungry, and so I ate what I could whenever. I started eating later. I began to tolerate carbs, and they slowly drifted back into my diet. I started sipping at meals, with a straw. I renewed my love affair with Dr. Pepper. The weight fell off easily. Until it stopped. Now it's time for a serious changes as I noticed, I put on a few pounds this past winter.
I officially state that I AM TAKING BACK MY SLEEVE!
I am starting fresh as it were. I am doing Protein Shakes. I am taking Vitamins. I am counting calories. I am eating as "clean" as possible. I am drinking Water. I am getting in more physical activity. Basically, I am now doing everything I should have been doing all along, but sadly admit I never did.
Three weeks into it and I am down 9 pounds and lost over 15 inches. I feel great and hope to keep doing better as I embrace the lifestyle changes I should have made two years ago.
    Who's with me???
