Nurse here. We often use wrist because it's a large reliable vein, but if swollen or painful or hot to touch it's infiltrated and needs to be removed!

For me the point was I'd spent way too many years failing at diets. This has given me a great gift. A tool to help me. At the end of the day, it's no magic pill or quick fix. I still watch what I eat. I have regained control of my life and what I put in my mouth. It's been a true miracle for me. Almost 100lbs gone. 6 months out. And I know it's up to me to continue to be successful. Good luck to you! It's a huge lifestyle change for sure but worth every second!

Prunes have been my answer. Just in case anyone that subscribed to this still has trouble. Now go every day to every other day. Only thing I had to do different was eat them. Lol. Don't particularly like them but after 3 a day for about 3 days, went for first time in 9 days and have been goin ever since. Good luck guys

I've been struggling a bit in that I've reached that point where the sleeve has really done it's part and now it's time for me to need to WORK for the losses. I've been a whole month with no appreciable changes, just fluctuations of 3 lbs up and down the scale. Then I pulled out two photos taken a year apart and realize that I've come a long way already. I have nothing to be discouraged about and realize that this last 25 lbs. is just going to take some patience, planning, and persistence. Here's the photos:
You look absolutely beautiful! This is my first challenge I've done. Been afraid of not making goal but this time I felt I needed some motivation to break this stall. Thanks for all the time you take to do these challenges. Goal met or not, I'm in!

173.6 today, been bouncing between 173-174 for a month. Stalls suck! Lol

I work L&D, took 6 weeks. Surgeon said was the minimum he would allow because he knows how us nurses are and I'd be doing things I shouldn't. Lol. But I too needed a minimum of 3 to get good energy back. Take your time off and be good to you for a change

I got out of the 80's to be stuck in the 70's! It gets harder the closer you are to goal I guess. I'm trying to do everything right. Exercising everyday, all the Water I can drink, increased Protein, etc etc. But even stuck at a number, it's better than where I started. Discouraging yes, but we got this!

Me too! Never really feel thirst but force drink anyway it's tough but weight loss slows if Water consumption falls, so we do it anyway.

My doc doesn't want his pts to ever go there again. My nut said it just leads to other bad habits. I'm 6 months out and if I want so etching different I have dt snapple. I'm afraid it'd be a bad idea for me to start. It's already hard enough to get Water in and it's all I drink....

I have fibromyalgia and I have been better post WLS. I do have flare ups, but I don't typically need a daily medication anymore. I usually just take the meds as needed. Now if I'm really stressed, it flares up, but other then that I'm much, much better!
Thank you! My cousin has had multiple back surgeries and has gained almost 100 lbs. Is very curious about surgery and it's helped my back pain tremendously losing all this weight. It's good to hear yours is better.

Thank you! Yes his dr was also talking abt bypass but had no info on sleeve. But his dr also told hi. He needed to weigh 300 lbs to even qualify so think maybe this dr is not very fond of wls

Did fibromyalgia get worse after surgery? My cousins dr is discouraging surgery because he said it makes fibro worse.

I'm definitely bringing this up at my 6 month follow up in a couple of weeks. I find this very interesting and sensible. Thanks for posting

Mine have changed also.

Interesting indeed but I was told by my surgeon in the very beginning, this requires a lifestyle change. Not a temporary one but forever to be successful. And I whole heatedly believe this to be true.

This is the post I look at when I ask myself if I'm crazy to be having this surgery. Thank you all for sharing your photos and stories with us!
I did the same thing. Every time I got scared or someone asked if I was crazy, I'd come here and see everyone's success stories! This site is full of great information before and after surgery.

Six months after 10-14-13, I am at GOAL! I really didn't believe it would happen, and I would've been happy to be within 10 lbs of my original goal... but I made it! I debated even getting the sleeve at my age (60) and weight (60 lbs to lose), admonishing myself that I *should* be able to do it on my own! Now I am Sooooo Glad I made that trip to Mexico! I feel GREAT, and I look forward to healthy years ahead, which is why I did this. It's an extra Plus to look better, too!!! I post this pic just as an encouragement for anyone considering the sleeve, whatever your age. If you're 50 lbs or more overweight, it's worth it, even if insurance won't cover the cost. p.s. The other day, my 9-year-old grandson described someone to his mom as "tall & thin like Grammy" ~ which made me realize my grandkids will never remember me any other way!!! That made me smile all week long! :-)
You look great! Congrats on making goal.

Ran out of time before work yesterday. Goal was 165, weight yesterday was 167. Didn't meet that goal but did buy size 10 which was my original surgery goal. Even when scale don't move the inches do! Thanks for these challenges! Can't wait for next one
