    Surgery today

Make sure u continue to walk it helps relieve the gas which will take like 2 days minimum to stop feeling it. Also walking will prevent blood clots make sure they put those air compressing wraps below the knee on your leg it mimicks muscle movement when u are in bed.
  2. Also wait 15 minutes after you drink to eat which should take a minimum of 30 minutes to eat 4 oz food then wait 1/2 hour before u drink again.
  3. Stay under 1000 calories, 60 grams carbs, 80 grams protein, minimum fat intake. Drink sugar free fluids preferably water. If you drink caffeine make sure u get over 64 oz fluids. Walk every day. This is all based on day by day, daily.

    is 165lbs reasonable

Well I'd like to share that when I was talking with my surgeon he did say after 3 more months I can increase my meal size to 5 oz from 4 oz. So that means 3oz of meat like usual but I get to increase my veggies to 2 oz. Very happy about that. I like my veggies. He also mentioned that I should exercise more.
  5. I'm under 4 months myself and your right about the stairs analogy. Yes same as you now I'm off the bp meds and the diabetic meds too. My health has exponentialy gotten better as well. This is a bio physical social behavioral as well as spiritual voyage.

    Help me?

Stick to the prescribed diet by the nutritionist make sure you drink plenty of fluids. Water weighs a lot. Your body is adjusting. The loss is not a straight line its more of a staircase shape if your were to graph it. Lose then level off lose again then level off. I think you get the picture.
  8. When I weigh myself in the morning no clothes no fluids it differs by almost 3 lbs mid day because of fluids and food. So which weight do I go by. Morning or during the day?

    Pressure cooker

And I believe that you can put any cut of meat like big chicken cutlets or whatever and the nutrients stay locked into the meat same with the veggies. This is unchartered territory for me so I'm excited and happy.

    Pressure cooker

Yeah I ordered one they are relatively inexpensive and it will last years. Ill cook meat and veggies and freeze portions.
  12. Well I am having like 4 mugs of coffee a day. I drink a lot of water to stop the dehydration. I mean like other than fluid intake what's the big deal.
  13. Your body is adjusting Water retention fluctuates the body loses weight daily and sometimes in spurts. It takes at least 6 weeks on average for your body to catch up basicaly the healing process. Everything you described is normal.

    Feb-6 is the day

Also when you go for surgery that day they take personal property and lock it up till after the surgery you might have to go to an office with the receipt and request any valuables. They store valuables seperate from your clothes. To avoid this if possible have someone bring your property the next day when you get a room.

    Feb-6 is the day

Bring a pair of slippers so when you walk around the hallways your feet don't get sore. Hospital socks don't provide enough cushioning.

  19. Jayson

    Smoking

On average 6 weeks to heal
  20. Jayson

    Smoking

Smoking connstricts blood vessels which means parts of the sleeve will never heal appropriately
  21. Your doing great its water weight your body is going through major changes I went through the same thing and still do and I'm 3 months post op. The body loses in spurts.

    Surgery is on February 17th!

Hi no the high blood pressure reading should not affect surgery otherwise they would have wrote a script for that. Put it this way I'm a diabetic and my blood sugar was high the morning of my surgery but they stll did the sleeve that day.
  23. Yes your weight will fluctuate I am 3 months post op

    Freaking Out

I totally understand your fears because I had a bad experience with anaesthesia when I had surgery on my nose years ago. However I talked to the doctors and they gave me some anaesthesia that knocked me out in under 60 seconds.
