  1. hi madam7 weeks ago the night before my sister and i were sleeved in Mexico i went online and you posted about severe reflux and how you took apple cider vinegar and you were on the floor in the bathroom dying.....that put such terror in my heart....i was totally freaking.....my sister went to sleep and i was literally shaking....i was contemplating not doing the surgery......i took several theanines (natural calmers) and some melatonin and finally fell asleep....i went through with the surgery and both my sister and i had pretty easy recoveries....the day we flew out of San Diego we spent 5 hours walking around and sitting watching shows at sea world.....what i am getting at is...how are you? and how are you managing your reflux?now if we can only figure out how to lose our weight without stalling every other week it would be great....we lost 10 pounds the first week then stalled for two weeks....lost another three pounds and stalled for about 10-12 days....we lose about 1/2pound a week now..,,doesnt seem right........any suggestions from anyone.....i dont get in all of the Protein...ive never had so much protein...,same with the Water....i get in about 30 ounces on a good day......thats more than i have ever drunk especially in the winter....,do you think that would be the problem?any feedback from any of you would be highly appreciated....

That's just the way the weight goes. Veeery sloooowly some weeks. I have been exactly the same weight for 9 days straight now. But this has happened to me before, so I now just trust that the weight loss will happen...

    thanks hidden

as long as it is on the downward trend i am happy....even by half a pound....

how do people lose 100 pounds in 6-8 months if it moves so slowly?

i will keep trying to up my Protein Water and exercise....

the only consolation about losing slowly is that my skin wont be loose...hopefully....

  2. I was sleeved about 3 years ago. My starting weight was 255 and quickly dropped to 170. Unfortunately, I apparently developed a false sense of security and thought since I didn't really have to work too hard to get there that it was ok to start eating things I knew I shouldn't. "I can only eat half that cheeseburger so it can't be too bad for me." Or "I am only eating a quarter of that bbq chicken stuffed potato with bacon, cheese and sour cream so it is ok." I knew I was lying to myself but stayed in denial and refused to get on the scale. One day, I realized that things were out of control and decided to get my life back on track. I am here to confess that I have gained back 30 pounds in the last two years and I am truly ashamed, embarrassed and utterly disgusted with myself. I swore my weight would never again start with a 2 and here I am.

I am confessing my sins and making a vow to get my head back in the game. If someone is reading this who is thinking it will be easy to get thin after the surgery, please know that is not the case. This is an amazing tool but you must always use the tool wisely. I will never again let my guard down and think I can't possibly gain weight because I only had a chicken biscuit, a cheese Krystal and some nachos all day. NEVER AGAIN!

I am going to hold myself accountable, be aware of everything that enters my body and never waste what calories I can eat on those that are empty! I am still and will continue to be a success story!

your story is a wake up call for all of us regardless at what stage we are at.....

who doesnt give a shiver of fear thinking that it could happen to us if we become lackadaisical in our attitudes and efforts....thank you for the reminder....

  3. As of this morning, I am officially OVERWEIGHT!!

I started this journey almost 7 months ago (May 16 '13) at 263.8. I was a tight size 20 bottom, XXL top, 42DDD boobs and a BMI that labeled me morbidly obese. As of today, I am 168.8, only 8.8 pounds away from my original goal (which I've since lowered but...). I am in a loose size 12 but could move into 10s if I liked the pants tight look. I wear a size L top but everyone says a Medium looks better. My boobs are now a 36D and my BMI has finally hit OVERWEIGHT!!!

I am so freaking happy. I haven't been this size since college. I've lost exactly 95 pounds and my new mini goal is 100 pounds by Christmas!!

you look fabulous....you should be very proud of yourself.....

would you please tell us what a typical days food drink and exercise entails for you.....thank you.....

  4. Follow your surgeon/nutritionalist instructions.

My personal view is that protien BARS are much more "dangerous" as they tend to be high carb and sorta have a candy like feeling....tend to trigger me to overeat which Protein drinks DON'T.

I still consume, 2 years out and 160# lost, a Premier Protein every day - sometimes 2.. 30 Grams of Protein, very low carb and just 160 calories - a real protein "Bargain"

Protein Bars contain really crappy protein....very processed and not bioavailable as a good whey protein.....but why not eat real food....a cup of yogurt....a couple of eggs....some chicken....shrimp....crab....nuts....beans...etc....

most protein shakes still have sugar and other yucky ingredients in them.....

  5. Cider over ice is a must... <slurp>

And, thankfully, the hangover has gone. Bit of a walk in the fresh air, a nice lunch and an afternoon of crap tv with my man.

Soon to be followed up with some homemade chicken quesadilla in the next hour.

    Loverly jubbly :D

    hi madam

7 weeks ago the night before my sister and i were sleeved in Mexico i went online and you posted about severe reflux and how you took apple cider vinegar and you were on the floor in the bathroom dying.....that put such terror in my heart....i was totally freaking.....my sister went to sleep and i was literally shaking....i was contemplating not doing the surgery......i took several theanines (natural calmers) and some melatonin and finally fell asleep....i went through with the surgery and both my sister and i had pretty easy recoveries....the day we flew out of San Diego we spent 5 hours walking around and sitting watching shows at sea world.....

what i am getting at is...how are you? and how are you managing your reflux?

now if we can only figure out how to lose our weight without stalling every other week it would be great....we lost 10 pounds the first week then stalled for two weeks....lost another three pounds and stalled for about 10-12 days....we lose about 1/2pound a week now..,,doesnt seem right........any suggestions from anyone.....

  6. Today, I am One Month, Two Days out from my Mommy Makeover (Tummy tuck, butt lift, fat transfer, Lipo, breast reconstruction, and lift, as well as augmentation) with Dr Niebles ( Neibles) in TJ Mexico. This man is a miracle worker, and I feel like I am finally in the body that I was meant to be in my whole life!I had my gastric sleeve May 15, 2012.Lost my weight (110lbs) right away, and then stayed at my goal and held for 6 more months until May of this year, and booked my body reconstruction with not so high expectations of the outcome. Every day I look at my body and I can't believe that it's mine! I am finally in the body that I belong in! I am about 10 more lbs down. I could NOT be happier with my new body and my new LIFE!

    hi pink

my biggest question is how you lost your weight so quickly....

my sister and i sleeved in mx 7 weeks ago....we are losing very slowly and have stalled three times already....any advice?

  7. my sister and i both sleeved with cabrera an hour apart

surgery went well..sleeved on thursday checked out of hospital on sunday morn....

spent the day at sea world and then flew out San Diego at about 7 in the evening....we were a bit tired after a day at sea world and drinking only gatorade but we did it and slept on the trip home....arrived nyc monday early morning....my sister went to work at 9 that day...i went to sleep for a bit....the only problem for us is that we did not get a lot of after info....we kind of knew liquid puree and soft foods....we experimented and still do with what feels good to eat....to drink 64 oz of Water is impossible for us....

  8. my sister and i went to tj to do the surgery with dr Cabrera at mi doctor...my sister needs to lose 60 lbs and i 40-50....

it went well....some gas pain and also pain at some of the surgery sites....

we both lost 10 pounds in the first 10 days then stalled for a week....today is 4 weeks after surgery and we both lost approx 15-16 pounds....i have not been drinking Protein drinks as they make me gag....my sister did for a few days only....instead i drank chicken broth buttermilk, kefir coconut Water and ate some eggsalad....cannot get more than 3-4 cups of Water down a day....its difficult especially now that its cold....i should drink tea with a bit of agave nectar to sweeten....but havent done that either....i started with puree within a week after surgery and tried some soft foods thereafter....i go by what feels ok....i have had some heartburn....but i find if i dont eat late and dont lie down soon after eating i dont get the heartburn.....

my biggest issue is the weight loss....i know 15 pounds a month is not bad but i truly thought i would lose more...maybe about 20 the first month.....my sister is also disappointed....we both lose .5 of a pound every other or third day....we stall often for a few days or a week.....so in three weeks we lost 5 and 6 pounds.....thats way too little....hopefully it will pick up....i will try to drink more and exercise more.....
