  1. My dinner tonight. Hubby & I went to Gringos Mexican Restaurant and shared this. It's combo fajitas with 4 shrimp brochettes. I put mine on the little bread plate but wasn't even able to eat all of that.

Sigh this is my favorite plate from gringos the Veracruz. I used to go very other Friday. I'm a week out so I'm no where near to eat this. Eventually I know I will taste it again =)

  2. I had a hernia repair too and that sounds like what I experienced. And yes, it lasted at least a week and was worse when I tried to lie down. I've never had a leak though so I don't know what that feels like. Does it feel better when you walk? I found that to be the best thing.

Yes when I walk it goes away it feels way better. That's why I'm assuming it's not a leak because I don't think that comes and goes. I hope it's just gas, I'm scared only because I'm not sure if those are gas symptoms.

  3. I'm a week post op can I still have gas pain? All of sudden maybe 6 times a day mostly when I'm in bed laying down I get a pain (it's not too bad) from my rib cage to almost half of my stomach. It's like a tight pain then it just goes away I would constantly get that at the hospital so I assumed it was gas. I'm not sure if it is though, if I could still have gas. Sorry that was the best way to describe gas, if it is. I'm just scared it's a leak or something. Oh and I also had a hernia repair.

  4. My mother did not agree with me she just did not understand why could " not" do it on my own and she was afraid for me. On my first visit I took her with me she along asked questions with me. She was surprised and proud that I "survived" the two weeks of liquids only ob pre op. She was there with me the day of surgery and once I came out of the OR she told my doctor she did not agree with my decision still to get sleeved and told him the reason why he just looked at her and told her he understood and that she made sense I was surprised he didn't defend the procedure. Even though she does not agree she doesn't tell me anything negative and has been extremely helpful she was there with me at the hospital and here at home helps me and has been trying to make me comfortable she bought me Soups mad me done broths and looks forward to my success because she knows I wanted this even though she doesn't agree she isn't going to leave me alone plus I live with her =). My best suggestion is talk to her more become very knowledgable of the procedure as I did and just talk to her about it take her to a doctor here just so she could know what will happened and how it's going to help you. I understand the main thing is for her to support you.

  5. I'm a big fan of Chobani yogurt. I love the apple cinnamon, pear, coconut, and lime flavors. One thing I do is add in about a tbsp of Jello SF instant pudding mix, usually either the cheesecake or white chocolate flavor. It changes the texture to be more like mousse. Also, Trader Joe's has pumpkin greek yogurt right now & it's delish!

Never tried chobani but I did see it at my super market. Definitely getting it next time and adding some sf pudding. Sounds yummy!! I love mouse. Thank you.

  6. My surgeon recommended thinned Greek yogurt, smooth or blended variety with no chunks of fruit. I thinned the Greek yogurt with a few tablespoons of skim milk as instructed. As an added bonus for bariatric patients, Greek yogurt typically has twice the amount of Protein as regular yogurt.

I have some Greek yogurt and was saving it for stage 3 but thanks for the blending idea and thinning it out with skim milk I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Thank you =)

  7. I had same problem could not stand the Protein drinks. A friend of mine that had her surgery 11 yrs ago showed me wht she takes and i tried it and love love love it. Designer whey makes them and champion whey.. u can go online and buy it at vitashoppe.com. i have strawberry, chocolate and Cookies and cream and the sugar is less then 2 grams. 8. Thank you :) There's not much you can do to avoid it completely but lots of strength training, weights, lots of running and just exercise in general has helped me firm up. Age and elastic skin is also on my side :)

Once I get the ok from my doctor I'm definitely going to start working out. I just turned 30 but I've always been a big girl not as big as this year but yes I'm at 263 right now. Well I hope I'm as lucky as you and don't have much lose skin.

  9. This might sound silly but I'm paranoid that I'm going to bust a staple and cause a leak. I'm scared to sit on chairs w/o a pillow for support on my back. When I go to bed I'm kind of sitting (my butt was kind of numb this morning I know tmi) because I'm scared to lay flat and bust something inside, when I cough or move or when it starts to make grumbling noises I hold my stomach like if I could shield it from internal damage haha. Now that I've wrote this things and see what I've been doing it sound silly but I've just read so manny horror stories from leaks and I'm a little nervous/scared about that. Sorry just had to vent. 5 days post op!!!

  10.
