I am 11 days out from surgery on 12/23. I will admit to eating some baby food items.
I was told I could have baby food also lol. Do you recommend any?

I made mashed sweet potatoes with unflavored Protein powder. I would suggest adding protein powder to anything like mashed potatoes, which have no protein naturally. I pureed meat a couple of times with some beef or chicken broth, which worked fine. I also ate Greek yogurt & made pudding with protein powder added to it.
I like sweet potatoes but I've never had them mashed potato style I'm going to try it. Thank you!!

Yogurt and fat free refried Beans were allowed on my puree stage. Here are some other things that were on my approved list: blended bean Soup puree chicken (blend w/ chicken stock) pureed broccoli (cook the broccoli well before you puree and only use the tops) pureed cauliflower (again, well cooked, then puree) Greek yogurt - it cannot have chucks or fruit on the bottom. I used the Chobani blended yogurt. pureed Cottage cheese (I added sugar free Torani raspberry syrup) soft scrambled egg (adding a splash of 1% milk and whipping w/ a fork before cooking will make them soft)
I love cottage cheese alone and with fruit (I know fruit is not allowed yet) but I bet with sf torani Syrup would taste pretty good. Thanks for all these ideas.

Ok so I know mashed potatoes, retried Beans hummus, yogurt, pudding, puréed Soups is considered puréed. I start puréed Saturday and I want to go grocery shopping for a few things but I don't know what to buy. What did everyone eat during there puréed stage? Is this all what we could eat my nuts list didn't specify. Thank in advance =)

I was hoping I didn't have nausea or gas after lol. I did get the patch behind my ear like 10min before surgery and had no nausea into like 6hrs after surgery from a scale of 1-10 it was like a 5 keep a pillow on your belly that helps. I would gag every time the nausea would kick in and the pillow helped with comfort and they gave me some nausea pills while I was there, that helped a lot. By the 3rd day when I came home I had no nausea. I was given prescription/pills for nausea and I have not had to take them (10days post op) which is good because I read they cause headaches. Good luck if you do have nausea I hope it's gone by the time you go home.

I'm 7 days post op and can't stomach anything other than Water tea and broth. I haven't had any energy so my kids have had a lot of easy meals pizza frito pie sandwiches etc and man have I wanted to eat so bad. The house is full of chocolates and candy and cakes from Christmas and I've wanted a bite so bad!! I never realized how much my families day revolved around food until now that I can't have it. Kids are bored let's make Cookies let's go hang out go to eat go to friends house what can we serve you. Man it's incredible how you realize how much food is part if our lives. I know it's necessary to live but it's amazing how you can live without so much as well. It's hard but I just keep reminding myself it will get better and I have the rest of my life to eat what I want eat less and eat healthier as well as my kids and family. It hurts right now without it because it's new but we will make it!!!
I bet it's extremely hard with kids I don't have kids, I agree I've really noticed how much our lives revolves around food. I'm just keeping a mind frame of how I will be healthy and thin =)

I'm 10 days post op and I have not missed food not one bit not even on Christmas when I saw my moms delicious tamales I was fine. Today we have BBQ (brisket, chicken & beef fajitas, ribs, steaks) all the sides that go to that and different Desserts my favorites which is potato salad and charro Beans. My mom is very sweet she made some sf pudding so I could have something with chocolate. I'm just having a little moment but I'm not telling my family or friends and I'm just shaking it off. 3 more days and hello puréed life for another 2 more weeks I'm so looking forward to it. Sorry guys I just had to vent!!!

Mine are on my arms they look horrible but it was the blood thinners that bruised me.
-
I only have two one on my side and belly button. My doctor does the star procedure but I don't see sterile strips it looked like glue ha.
-
Mine looks great. I'm also feeling soreness around it as it heals. I was told not to worry if it doesn't look infected red or hot or with puss.
-
I know it is kind of weird I'm on liquids for two weeks (which I'm still on) but could have yogurt and sf pudding. Every doctor and nut are different.

.I'm glad I found this. I had surgery on the 16th. I'm on a full liquid diet. I never feel full. I am also having issues with drinking Protein Drinks. I drank so many the two weeks before surgery that now the thought makes me want to vomit.

I've read that ppl do that. So you just pour vodka over ice and mix in a little crystal light powder? Sorry I just want to get it right for when I'm able to drink lol. I love vodka and pomegranate.
