  1. THANK U GUYS ALOT.....someone was telling me about a yogert diet....I think imma try it...you just eat yogert and drink Water but imma add some fish in there.....so you right I didnt mention what I have been eating but pretty much anything....I feel less restricted... so I feel like I been able to take more in...but also food and restriction is crazy around my period...I can eat any and everything....and when my period comes I dnt want to eat food anymore...when its done I go right back with tht habbit...I just have to learn how to fight the urge.... anybody have any tips on what I should do?? Around that time???

I know it's hard I'm 2 months post op and I've lost 72lbs. I recently started eating more my intake is higher then a half a cup and it scares me. Remember your Protein water stay away from sweets minimize carbs. I've learned to cut back and change my foods. I plan I'm starting a workout maybe Zumba I want to do insanity but I doubt my body could handle it. I suggest you see your doctor or email your nutritionist. I email mine all the time lol. Any questions message me. If I were you I wouldn't do that yogurt diet you did this surgery to help you not so you could live on a diet. Good luck.

  2. That's awesome congrats!!! I'm 8 weeks out also and I've lost 72lbs. I feel it on my clothes, I see it but not as much as I'd like. I'm really happy though I'm at 203lbs right now. I'm going to yell when I get to to 199 lol. How much are you eating now? I feel that I'm able to eat more now. I had shrimp cocktail for lunch (I know not the best choice) I was able to eat like 8 shrimps. I'm paranoid about stretching my sleeve. So I'm curious if I'm over eating of course I don't eat no where near where I did pre op. I don't eat past 30min. Keep up the great work =)

  3. Nothing silly about this question at all :) Basically, its because your sleeve is soooo new and delicate.. Its still trying to calibrate - particularly so early out. The sleeve is still raw and wounded. As such, you have to not try to overload it with things which are going to make it work harder. If you're eating rich/fatty/acidic/spicy/sugary food, your stomach is going to have to receive more bile to process it. This could upset things. Don't fear, this eases off in two months or so.. But you still have to be a little careful (well, I did). Its also a scientific fact that bariatric surgery changes an individuals' taste. This can make people feel repulsed by things that they formerly loved (fatty/acidic/rich/spicy/sugary food), I personally think this is because your body instinctively knows post surgery that these things are not good for your little sleeve. When you're in the first 2 months, its a bit of trial and error. But, however, its pretty much a given that the blander the food, the easier you digest it... So if you don't want to upset things, try to keep it plain, light and simple for a while. Its all good :)

Very true the smell of fast food fries nauseates me when pre op I didn't have a problem.

  4. I started trying to eat salad at 6 wks per drs program & didn't have any problems. I love sautéed zucchini & summer yellow squash with fresh mushrooms & my sleeve likes them too! But....always follow your plan. Good luck!

That sounds so good I like yellow zucchini and squash. I've never had it with mushrooms though. I ended up making the mushrooms and my sleeve was ok with them so I'm very happy =)

  5. I was eating salad AND mushrooms, at about 5-6 weeks afterwards. Found the raw onions a bit much for my sensitive sleeve (gave me acid reflux). Everything else was all good in the hood. Just made sure I chewed the heck out of it and didn't shovel it down, as I pre-sleeve had a want to do (primarily salad I'm on about). Mushrooms and salad are two of my favourite things. I'd say try it, see how you feel and if it's cool -yay! If not, try again in a weeks time. As a word of caution.. Be careful with the butter you cook the mushrooms in.. The butter could make the mushrooms too greasy. Early sleeves don't like a lot of fat. Same with salad dressings. Try to go without it. :) Best of luck!

Thank you for the info =). So I made the mushrooms. I only had very little since I get full fast and they were delicious my sleeve loved them. I'm so happy that I found something else I could eat.

  6. Nesa, let me tell you I love salad ....this week was the first time I tried salad .....it was wonderful ....I tried romaine lettuce... I put full fat dressing on it with cheese, bacon and raw red onion ...it was amazing ....Felipe loved it and it was so good.... I am eight weeks out and about two weeks ago after I got over the issue of dehydration and my stomach felt better I think my sleeve started healing and it opened up a little bit so I've had salad, and today I tried pork line just so that I can have a crunchy snack that didn't have carbs in it..... Have no fear of salad.....how far along are you though? Im 8 weeks.... Shel...

Shel, yay I'm going to try a salad this weekend when I'm not at work just to be safe. Pre op I used to make a pretty good darn salad so I hope my sleeve is ok with it. I've yet had something my sleeve doesn't like well chicken feels to heavy unless it's shredded (weird huh). You put bacon on your salad and Felipe was ok with it? love hearing that lol. I wanted a crunchy snack also I bought some veggie chips……I had two they were delicious and my crunchy craving felt satisfied with two wow. I'll be 8 weeks out Saturday so were the same. How are you with you doing Protein Drink intake?

  7. How soon did some of you start eating salads? Also how soon did y'all start eating mushrooms? I've been craving sautéed mushrooms and I want to make some for dinner. I wish I had a list of foods that are ok to eat. I know what to stay away from health wise, I'm scared to eat something that is going to hurt my sleeve. I'm glad I have all of you to answer my questions though =)

  8. When I was a sailor on liberty in Tijuana, free White Russians given by a bartender which a friend of mine knew put me and my buddies on the sidewalk trying to help each other back up to the vertical world. Happily, we managed to remain un-robbed and not arrested. A few months ago I tried to recreate the powerful but easy to go down drink. Alas, it has lost all previous charm. It just burned and did little to my hard head. I shall never be drunk again. I can't drink enough and I don't like it. I'll have to make a fool out of myself without chemical help. :D

Pre op I was a huge White Russian fan. Hopefully one day when I'm further out I'll be able to have one.

  9. At 8 weeks I ate sashimi and miso Soup and edamame. Even had a touch of ginger pickle on the sashimi. No rice, noodles, salad, teriyaki (sugars), tempura or other stuff like that this early out. I do eat salad now. You will be amazed at how little sashimi it takes to fill you up now. Cheap Date.

I'm happy I could eat some sashimi, sashimi and avocado on the side I will be happy.

  10. I'm a huge sushi, sashimi, and hand roll lover that's my favorite food. Since getting the gastric sleeve I have not had it. When I turned 5 weeks I had tuna tataki I made sure it was fully cooked I was able to eat it just fine. This Saturday I will be 8 weeks out and I'm invited to a bday party at a sushi restaurant I know sushi is out the question because of the rice. Did any of you have hand rolls or sashimi at 8 weeks out? I would love a crab hand roll or a oyster hand roll sounds good too but I know it's too soon for that. Hope to hear from some sushi lovers!!!

  11. Pre op I used to like to drink once in a whole mainly when I went out. I'm 7 weeks out and have not had a drink I was told at 6 weeks I could have red wine. I still have not had any I'm waiting for a weekend that I'm at home with no plans I'm scared to how it's going to effect me. I'm not worried about alcoholism because I don't/never had alcohol every day or had a eating disorder. I must say I miss my wine and vodka specially after a stressful day at work a nice glass of wine would be great.

  12. I get 80+ grams of Protein a day so I hope I don't need more. But I've noticed other changes too. My face is clearing up and skin tone is evening out so that is a good thing. My breath is awful. :( I've had a constant TOM for 2 weeks now. Sorry if tmi. But I guess I didn't realize all of the changes my body is going through 7 1/2 weeks out.

My face is also clearing up and skin tone is evening. I'm 7 weeks out also. I have been getting 60 grams except a few days. Where protein nauseates me. I've been trying though.
