  1. I usually have a Protein Shake in the morning before I go to work then another one later in the day each is 30grams so in the shakes alone I'm getting 60grams in Protein. I'm getting tired of them I force myself to drink them. Up to know everything I have had to eat so far has settled right with my stomach. I'll be five weeks out on Sat I've noticed a good amount of weight lost. I could see my collar bone =). Thank you all for your responses and suggestions. I just felt overwhelm today I think because I've been really focus then I get this email from my nutritionist so I just felt a little confused with soft solids because of what my nutritionist told me and what my doctors list says there totally different and what to eat. I just don't want to "ruin" this or fail. Thanks for listening guys and all the comments.

  2. I'm a month out and so far everything I eat I have been able to tolerate. I've got to the point where I'm sick and tired of Protein Drinks. Yesterday and today Ive been having a pain that comes and goes next to my belly button I think it's from gagging because of the Protein drinks. I've tried different ones and they all make me gag. So yes I've been eating Greek yogurt with fruit (that comes with it) cheese, tilapia, mashed potatoes, Protein Bars, and sliced turkey. I emailed my nutritionist asking when I can eat edamame's and drink milk she told me to worry about protein and veggies will come in when I'm on solids. On my doctors plan I'm on soft solids and it says to slowly add things I've had over steamed broccoli that was fine. I'm just confused over soft solids and solids. Sorry I think I'm just having one of those days. I had not felt like this all I just feel a little down. Don't get me wrong I'm glad I had the surgery I've been losing weight. I'm scared to eat different things. I'm feeling lost today lol. Sorry for the rant.

  3. I love Quinoa. I usually substitute it for my rice. It's delicious. There are tons of recipes for using it. In my experience, it needs to be cooked thoroughly or it'll exit your body via your stool. I know that's TMI, but hey...It happens. lol :) Quinoa is awesome!

Awesome!!! I will be making some for dinner tomorrow. Don't worry about the tmi good to know lol.

  4. I ordered some Seapoint Farms freeze dried edamame from Amazon to keep in my desk drawer. 1/4 cup has 140 calories, 10 grams carbs and 14 grams of Protein. I can't have them for quite sometime as I am only 2 weeks out. Health food stores carry it as well, I've seen it in a few places.

I LOVE edamame I have some in my freezer. I'm 4 weeks out but not sure if there ok to have yet. I don't really see people talk about them.

  5. I'm on solid food. I had a tiny bit of salsa with my scrambled eggs and cheese this morning and I shouldn't have had the salsa. I've eaten the eggs and bacon before so I don't believe it was them. I've got a bit of acid reflux going on. Living in South Texas I've eaten salsa like ketchup. Oh well. I STILL won't trade salsa for how much better I feel.

I'm from Houston Tx still live here so I know how salsa is a "must" for most foods. I haven't had any yet though.

  6. This is so funny something similar happened to me!! When I was pre op I had to meet with a shrink (due to insurance requirements) while I'm waiting a couple walks in I get called in. I'm the shrink no more then 10min I come out the couples wife gets called in. I'm waiting for the receptionist the husband waiting for his wife tells me "your making another appointment" I said "no I just want to give him the questioner " he has the guts to tell me "oh wow one visit and your fixed already" so I told him why I was there and crazy man tells me "god your so pretty already I could only imagine how your going to look after I wish I could see you after when your skinny man I see you already looking skinny and more beautiful" right then the receptionist walks I I gave my papers I smiled and left.

  7. Sounds very close to the zucchini lasagna recipe I have. YUMMY. I make this at least every other week. Zucchini Lasagna 2 cups (360 grams) zucchini 2 cup fresh spinach 2 cup Spaghetti Saurce 16 oz Ground Turkey (96% lean) 1 Egg 12 oz Cottage cheese (1%) 8 oz Mozzarella (low fat) With a potato peeler, slice zucchini into thin ribbons for "noodles." Brown ground turkey and add sauce. Combine spinach, cottage cheese, and egg in bowl. Layer with turkey and sauce, cottage cheese mixture, and zucchini "noodles" repeat layers. Cook at 400 degrees for 30 minutes- enjoy your healthy "lasagna" with the whole family!

I start soft foods Sat I wonder if this would be ok. It sounds delicious.

  8. Good luck. Rest and rest the first day I slept just about the whole day the nurse woke me up to talk walk a little and drink some Water I so had a few taste of a sf free popsicle and fell back asleep. Once they allow you to drink sip every 15min that you are awake specially since your at home and won't have any IV to keep you hydrated you need to drink so you won't get dehydrated and try to walk for 5min every hour that you are awake. That's what they had me do at the hospital. Your post op sounds about right I was on liquids for two after. Good luck!!!

  9. Ok so my NUT is on vacation and the one that is available is extremely strict she believes that we should not drink anything but herbal tea and Water not even crystal light nothing. I've got to the point where I'm getting nauseas with plain water specially in the morning. I don't want to get dehydrated. So my question has anyone had regular Gatorade? And been ok? On my doctors list which is different then the stricter nuts list says I could have G2 but I can't find it anywhere only the regular one. I just need something other then plain water.
