I wasn't in pain from it either. It did freak me out when I went to take a shower at the hospital.

I had a shot on my stomach before surgery and I was bruised pretty bad not like you are. The blood thinners they kept injecting my arms with made me bruise just like you are my arms were black and blue it looked horrible. I'm 7 weeks out tomorrow and I still have pale blue bruises. The nurses told me it was the blood thinners. I got them for 3 days. Plus I bruise very easily.

Oh I loved crab legs pre op. I'm going to give them a try now that I'm at 6 weeks since I did fine with shrimp hopefully with crab legs as well.

I don't know what stage exactly I'm on yet but my favorite food right now is salmon sashimi. I LOVE IT! I did not like sashimi before surgery but now, dipped in some soy sauce, I'm in heaven. Second favorite, though not asked, is chicken Soup (made with mixed vegetables, lots of great seasonings, and a little gravy).
How far out did you have sashimi? I love sashimi as well but have not had it I'm 6 weeks out

Sleeved on 12/21/13
Total lost 41 pounds.
I feel I should be loosing a little more weight. Any tips? Don't get me wrong I'm really happy with my weight lost so far heck I could've gained that but no it was lost. I know everyone is different. I stopped taking my Protein for like 5 days I just couldn't stomach another chocolate Premier Protein. I started the vanilla flavored one today and it's not bad so I'll be back on track with my daily protein intake. Congrats everyone on your progress!!!

I was told whenever I felt I could sleep on my stomach. I took two weeks. I felt a little discomfort but after a few seconds it went away at 6 weeks I still feel that discomfort for a few seconds. It felt great when I first slept on my stomach since I've never been a back sleeper. Good luck.

So I had shrimp and chewed it very well (just like my other foods) and my stomach took it in just fine woohoo something else to add to my list lol thank you guys.

I'm on soft foods too - both tilapia and shrimp are good in my sleeve.
Awesome!!! Good to hear.

Thank you all. I'm on soft solids for two more weeks and I'm still scared to try different things. This recipe is baked shrimp and tilapia in a sauce the calories are great and I've always been a shrimp lover. I'm going to give it a try!!!

How soon did everyone start to have shrimp? I'm 6 weeks out and I have been having flaky fish and tuna with over steamed or over baked veggies. It settles fine with me. I was wondering what about shrimp though if it might be too heavy……I have a recipe that includes shrimp but I don't want to damage my sleeve or feel sick.

I'm (sort of) just beginning this process of looking into the sleeve. I'm in Houston and two years ago, I looked into having the sleeve done but my doc, dr. Hollis, pushed the band. After having an EGD, I got chemical pneumonia(painful) because I had coughed up some stomach acid while I was under. So I took time off and tried other things but nothing seems to be working. Fast forward to now, I went to True Results and they are still pushing the band. I am self pay and was told they won't even do self pay sleeves. So, I called NeWeigh on the referral of a friend. They said not to do band, sleeve is a much better option. I had already decided that's what I wanted so now I'm filling out all their papers and have a phone consult next week. They really seem nice. I just hope I have as much good luck as my friend. However, I'm having anxiety and worrying about problems. I have a thirteen year old who is disabled and I need to recover as soon as possible. What is an average expectation for recovery?
I'm in Houston also dr Terry Scarbourough did my surgery. He was FANTASTIC. I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and 3 days. I had horrible nausea on day two then it went away came back week 2 dr said it was ketosis then. Pain wasn't bad I made sure to take my pain meds on time for a week. I had more gas discomfort then anything. I know how hard it is to have a disabled child my older sister is a special needs child. So I suggest get someone to help out with for the first week at least. At the end everyone's recovery is different. You just have to take your time. The best of luck to you!!!

I desperately need suggestions with Protein Drinks. Any recommendations?? I'm going to GNC after work and see what else they have. I have tried 3 different ones and I'm sick and tired of them they make me gag. I'm 5wks out so I know it's very important but for the past 3 days I've only been consuming 30grams when I normally take 60grams a day I don't want my weight loss to stop but I just can't take the Protein I have any longer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh and also how manny calories were you all taking in at 5 weeks? I consume between 260-480. Thanks everyone!!

yes same here! Even I thinking of calling them on Monday!
I feel it more like when I'm laying down and I pick my head up a little to fix my hair up or get up from sitting a good while on the couch. I hope it's nothing major. Let me know what they tell you if you call. Good luck =)
Anyone else addicted to food network?

I love the food network. It might sound weird but it kind of excites me to see all this food not to the point where I crave or want it I've been good on that. It just interest me. So I watch it just about every other day. Also I like to know what other people (family friends) are eating for dinner. It's very weird of me feeling this.
