  1. I had my band out and a revision to sleeve. I have only lost 8 pounds in 6 months. NOW the doctor is telling me because I had the band previously that I wouldn't lose much weight . It has been very discouraging. I wish the doctor had told me this 6 months ago and $12,200 later.

Are you happy with your decision?

I had a band and revised to the sleeve. I am having second thoughts. Since I have had the sleeve I am tired and weak a lot . I have no energy. When I had the band out I gained ten pounds. I have lost that ten and five more since January. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't because the price was to high on my health. I would of stayed with the band.

    Feel hungry all the time!

I was feeling hungry all the time too. I have started taking 5HTP. 50 mg about 20 minutes before I eat. It takes away the hunger and cravings. I heard about this on Dr. oz and tried it and it has helped.

    Feel like im losing slow

I am three months out and I have lost 15 pounds. I am a slow loser too. Hang in there it could be worse.

    Why Band to Sleeve?

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they pay for a revision even if you are at normal weight as long as your doctor says you need it.

Protein 2 oz or 4 oz

My doc says to keep total consumption of all food to four ounces. That said I would go with two ounces of protein at a time and add a little vegetables. I had a band for 7 years before the sleeve and only did two ounces at a time all the time

Two Surgeons but one choice = Dilemma

I had the band out and 4 months later had a sleeve. Everyone gains weight while the band is out. I think surgeon number 2 is the way to go. It is harder to lose weight after a revision so why gain it and have to lose it again.

    Is it true?

I had a band and had a revision almost three months ago. I lost 8 pounds while in the hospital and 7 pounds in the last three months. I have a friend who had the same revision surgery as I did and she has lost the same amount of weight in the same amount of time.

    NY Sleevers

I had my surgery done in Mexico with Dr. Alvarez . I am doing good. It took about two months to start feeling normal. It is a major surgery. Who is doing your surgery? I am going to Bassett in Cooperstown for my follow up care. I was having some issues for a while and had care there.

    Nauseous Anyone?

They do an endoscopy and when they put the camera down your throat they use the bougie to make the opening that has narrowed wider. I am also back to throwing up again so it didn't really work.

Am I really the only one ?

Hi Pancake. I sound a lot like you. I was 181 when I had my surgery. I lost 8 pounds the first week and nothing at all for 6 more weeks. I am now 3 months out and I am down to 163. It has been slow. Just hang in there and follow your eating plan. Make sure you get lots of water and lots of protein. Stay away from the carbs or the scale doesn't move. I know you can do this you are just in a stall. I was sure I wasn't going to lose anymore but I did and it will continue to come off. Probably slowly but it will come off. You can do this

    Throwing up

I went in and had the stricture diolated and it was good for a few days and now I am back to throwing up again

    Throwing up

A narrowing of the stomach. They go in and try to stretch it with a bougie during an Endoscopy. If that doesn't work they revise it to a RNY
