  1. Well the day has come, today, where i am being tested with the band ..For some reason, I can''t seem to stop eating today, including Cookies..chips. I thought my sleeve, would not allow me to have a small "binge". . I know it is emotional eating. I was retired for 3 years and now have a part time ,job , working from home. I was. reluctant to accept the job since my life was pretty stress free. I will be helping a family member with accounting issues and I need to basically redo their accounting processes for a dr practice. I am afraid that I won't have a balance in my life that I had before. The past 11 weeks I only had concentrated on my journey to health. I was also busy with 2 weeks of travel.. Some for work, some for visiting family. I think what also sparked my overeating today is my weight loss stall. For almost two weeks I have been at 175.. And stuck their. Ugh. I know what to do to get back on track..logging in my food in myfitnesspal.. Eating my Protein first , and going back to exercising that I had been doing. My question is how do I overcome my disappointment with myself of eating more than I should have and eating some junk today. I am afraid that I cannot get back on track. Suggestions are appreciated.

    New Direction shakes

I like the new direction pudding and shakes . For the hot chocolate ..if it gets too hot it coagulates . So you can't have it too hot. Do u have a blender to blend the shake to smooth it out Try the chocolate pudding., it is my fave.
  3. Ps. Correction to my precious post . I have the sleeve not the band.

  7. I like the idea of a timer that was posted above. . I too eat fast. With the timer we can learn what eating 20 minutes really is like.

  11. Amazing. Congrats on your weight loss and non weight loss victories. I also did the marathon when I turned 50. Of course after I finished the run is when I started putting on lots of weight because I stopped exercising cold turkey. So a word of advice.. Don't stop running like I did Anyhow.. U look fantastic. Keep up the great journey of health.

    sleeve revision.

I never heard of an RNY to sleeve.. But a lapband to sleeve. More and more dr are suggesting sleeve vs the lapband.

    Having problems adjusting

By week 4 it was difficult for me to take in soft foods and water. However, I would go see my doc to make sure that it is just the swelling in your tummy causing this.
  15. Monitor your blood pressure several times a day. U may be experiencing low blood pressure ..I do get dizzy sometimes when I abruptly stand up from a sitting position. I am Bp meds that I may have to weaned off.

Why is my doctor pushing for bypass?

I have had friends who had the bypass and regained lots of weight, and now they have malabsorption for the rest of their lives. I personally would never have the bypass..too drastic ..but to each his on. Whether we have the bypass or the sleeve..we can lose and put back the weight on ..however we need to remember these surgery are tools. .if we don't change our lifestyle with eating ..exercising and know why we go to food for comfort ..we will have a greater potential to regain the weight back. What we put in this process is wht we reap. It is a journey ..
  17. 6'weeks out I started to exercise ....helps me with stalls. I do 30 minutte medium stenuous exercise and swim laps. 3-4 times per weeks ..I also do strength exercise for lower body with weight machines.

    Regrets

Ask your dr for anti nausea meds. I ask for anti meds prior to surgery and was never nauseated. The 'first four week after surgery is challenging, .however', just be patient and this too shall pass
  19. My nut told me that if I am exercising like u are now. 900 calories is a good number when I am 3 months out.. They do not want me to stay below 800 calories and I am 10 weeks out. When I started to exercise ...I got weak and had to increase my calories?carbs as well as protein. See what works for you.
  20. I have been seeing a physchologist two months prior to surgery and continue to do so. She told me I am way too hard on myself. If this is your case..be kind to yourself..understand why you went to food for comfort, and share with your husband how u feel ...your confidence and self esteem will improve as u lose wight ..however it would be good to get deep into yourself to understand the why and making peace with yourself ( or others) so that you will not use food as your comfort.

    cereal?

It does help with constipation. And for me as long as I stay away from sweets and eat healthy carbs. I don't get carb cravings. However, every one is different . Try it and if it does give u cravings ..then u know what u have to do,

    My Journey

Thanks for posting your encouraging success surgery.. U and I ad the same stats as pre surgery . Hopefully I will post my victory as well. I am also encouraged that u are maintaining your weight. That was the biggest reason I had the surgery. It is a tool to help u lose as well as maintain your weight,
  25. None since surgery 10 weeks ago. I was advised by my nut to stay away from carbonated drinks. It may lots of bloating , post surgery. I don't miss it.. We're u told one way or the other. I read on this website that some do drink carbonated drinks and it does not bother them.
