anyone else have gurgling noises that can be heard by others
Carlotta1 replied to kitch101's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As I read your post, I am having gurgling sounds. And yes my family can hear it loud and clear. It even happens when I am lying in bed ..I just are chicken curry with 1/3 cup of brown rice. My stomach had tough time with the brown rice.. That is why my gurgling is occurring now. .it also happens when I gulp water or drink lots of water. I don't get embarrassed when I am on front of others and it happens. It is just part of my new life now ) -

Help ...Not in a regular routine. Throws me off. :( need tips ...
Carlotta1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been out of town on a weekend trip to visit my family and 3 more days away for work. I am finally back home. What I notice is that every time I go away from home for a couple of days. I have a hard time with sticking to my eating schedule and food protocol. I got kind of stressed out with work and had to talk to myself , to convince myself, that Jo job is worth sabotaging my health journey. I could tell I was head hunger eating . I wanted food to calm me down, I was so aware what was going on, Which was good.. However... I could have done better with eating nutritional foods rather than carbs. I am going away for Easter weekend. Can you all please give me tips on how to handle away from home situations. I came back so exhausted from my trip . And when I am exhausted..I do not make good food decisions. I need to get back on board TODAY. -
Starving Myself? And other fears...

You are healing.. And it takes time for that. People experience different things at the beginning. It took me 4 weeks to start eating soft foods.. Be patient with the process. -

My dear catherine 707.. Thanks for taking the time to give me advice. Reading your post made me really understand that the responsibility to maintain a healthy eating habit is on me..not people around me ..and to be prepared ahead with having the right foods when I travel and drink drink drink.. Your post has really helped. Thanks again. -
On the third week..I could eat soft foods. It was difficult for me to keep food down. I had to stay on soft food longer than what was recommended. I was in no rush..I was patient to go from one stage to another. After 6 weeks ..I was healed enough to eat anything that was one my food protocol. Don't rush the process. If u have a little difficulty in one stage.. Stay there before u move on to another stage. I.. Call your dr if you cannot progress at all to another stage.

How long does it take after surgery to start eating normal food?
Carlotta1 replied to rodeomom969's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Took me from 6-8 weeks to slowly eat foods that I had not eaten for a while. -
I agree..not a diet..but a way of life ...to eat the rest of your life.. Granted we have to tweak our calorie amounts as we get closer to goal. I started at 400-500 and now at 850 per day ..in taking 80 grams of protein.
-
Like Wendy posted....stalls are part of the process. At 5 weeks I was probably eating 50-600 calories per day. I also had about two stalls in 3.5 months that last for about two weeks.. IT is with these stalls that we need to be resilient and focus as to why we had wls..to be healthy ..for the rest of your life.
