    I Traded Fat For Old!

Get a new makeover,, new chic hairstyle and clothing.. Even shoes. Build some muscle. Just a few suggestions., sometimes your body has to adjust to weight loss so your skin elasticity will get better over time. If not, Try juvadurm for any sagging or shallow areas.

    Officially A Sleever!

Good for u that u r feeling well and the surgery was successful.
  7. My doc said no pre op..i did meet with a nut to go over the eating protocol after the surgery and the various phases of eating till I eat reg food. I did ask why no preop..was told only those that had to be a lower weight for surgery due to greater risks. My nut / doc does not want me to depend on shakes after I start eating regular foods either. (After 5 weeks of surgery) .

    Depression Setting In.

Don't give up.. Please do yourself a big favor and persevere . U have come a long way ..be grateful for your 3 pound loss. The worst thing we can so to our selves is negative thinking. And weight loss on the scale that is less than expected can trigger many self defeating thoughts. I am having the surgery on dec 9 and decided to seek psychological therapy in conjunction with the surgery. Cause I know it is my thinking that gets me in the way . I am too, too critical and hard on myself. So love yourself as best as u can, , treat yourself to things that will make u feel comforted , like a bubble bath, reading a good novel, window shopping, going to a good movie. Keep yourself busy when we get that feeling of failure. You r not failing.. Write down your non weight victories and replace those self defeating thoughts with good thoughts. My psych told me write a gratitude list often to remind myself of the good things in llife that is happening. It is those tough times that we have to go through to take us to a place called victory. This is the time to persevere. Reach out for help , good 4 u that u put your thoughts on this website. ..you have acknowledged your disappointment.. But keep on plugging.. Go back to the basics of eating, exercise harder, and most of all get to a place of gratitude for what u have accomplished thus far. " I WILL reach my weight loss goal. " A good mantra for all of us.

Progress So Far - With Pic

Congrats on your success so far. That is great that u feel confident to post a pic of your body. Go girl !
  14. Thanks for your truthful self reflection. I will be sleeved dec 9 and am having doubts about whether this is still for me or not. I nearly changed my mind a few weeks ago. Giving up my food as my comfort, entertainer and anxiety reliever is scared...but, like you, I am just sick and tired of losing the weight just to put it back on.. My overweight body effects my family, they see me struggling, feeling depressed, and not being healthy as I can be. .. . Not too long ago I lost 65 pounds and gained it right back..I still have not recovered from the self defeat , lower self esteem etc that putting on extra weight does to you. Having this surgery does provide hope that I can , with the "help" of the sleeve, regain the "joie De vivre" in my life. I am 59 and I pray that I will be victorious . Your message reaffirms my decision to go ahead with the surgery. Thanks.

What Do I Stock Up With?

Clear broth, sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicle, crystal light if u cannot tolerate water.--week one Check with the eating protocol that your dr gave u for the 4-5 phases you will going through the few months. Clear, liquid, puréed , soft, then lifetime eating. I got so , so much of good info from the support group ( I am pre op) on how much to eat, drink, etc during each phase.
