  1. I did the same thing.. Vacillate between having the surgery or not. I even posted on this website that I chafed my moping and decided not to have the surgery. Then I finally stuck to the decision to have it.. U will know when it is right for u. Time will tell.

    Lovenox....YIKES!

Yes it is.. I never gave myself a shot...but the needle is so tiny thin that u won't feel much. You just pinch some skin/fat around the belly and inject. You will alternate sides from one day to another, left and right, . I think I had 14 shots to give myself. No prob what so ever. foe per day.

    Help Please! So Many Questions?

Had lap band and I never felt full. Even after several fills Of course I am only two weeks out of from sleeve surgery. There is certainly a difference already. There are so many lapband revisions to sleeve these days. What does your dr suggest. I was scared to have the sleeve.. But it all went well. Take your time in making a decision that is best for u. Research ..ask questions...and pray.over it. You will know what route u should take when the time comes.
  4. Omg .,i am having a tough time right now with food. I am craving salty foods..like a good tamale. At night I have dreams of food..and I think of the food during the day I cannot have. I know it is most head. I was a sugarholic before my surgery. Now all I want is a good salty meal. Also, the reality that I can eat only 2-3 ounces of food at a time is blowing my mind. Now, I knew this before going into surgery how life would be...but the reality is different than just hearing about it. Will these feelings go away.. Is this what u call the grieving process, HELP.. What is going on with me. I was not expecting this so soon after surgery (11 days post op) .

    My mom is scaring me!

Talk to her honestly about how u feel. You see her destructive behavior ...you love her and want to help. You know I felt like your mom.. That unless I had the sleeve I would be doomed to have a BMI of over 40 the rest of my life. Your mom, bless her heart, (even though she is not morbidly obese , over 40 BMI..).struggles just like someone who is larger than her. I am sure she feels stuck..why don't u and your mom talk to your doc that performed the surgery any see whAt he says. He may influence her in understanding that she is not the best candidate for this type of surgery....I understand how she feels and what u are going through. My daughters went through the same experience as u did with your mom.

    Post-op Diet Solids

I tablespoon equals to one ounce, At this point my doc and nut says I should get 4 oz of high protein/ low carb/low fat meals. That is what I read in the instructions written in my binder of what I will expect when I complete the soft diet.

    Off my meds!

So happy for u..,I can imagine what that feels. I did not have diabetes going into surgery. However, the thought that I may get diabetes if I don't control my weight is why I'm on this site ...and hence did the surgery. U just bought years on your life. I had a brother in law who had the big D and saw what it did to him. Kidney transfer, amputation, eye laser surgery.. And finally heart failure. What a weight loss in such a quick time. Keep up the good work.

Three weeks out and not losing weight!

The weight we lose in week one and two is water weight and some fat. As u put back foods into your diet, especially at week 3.. We add salty foods back to our diet and more dense foods. Our bowel movements are also pronounced than week 1 or 2. Stick to your food protocol ..U are losing fat and nches..your body is adjusting. And you will get stalls.. That is just natural. Week 3 stalls are always a subject for new sleevers.

    100 pound loss yay!

    Congrats. U look amazing.
  14. Good for u..and congrats on your tremendous weight loss and your engagement.
  15. I can image that this news is very disappointing. However, try to look at the bright side of it. You know u will go into surgery w/o a risk of a gall bladder attack. You will lose more weight on your preop diet. And when that big day comes, You will be really, really ready. Can u ask your nutrtionist to sub one meal with a lean meat and low carb veggies to break the monotony of liquid protein only till u get close to the surgery. I know you find this lame.. But sometimes things happen for a good reason, and we may never get find out why. Accept this delay with gratitude that u will have the sleeve early next year ..and that time will fly by. ...prays are with u.
  16. I would to see more open communication about the real stuff we r dealing in our lives with pre and post op ..this post hit the naili. A naked truth of our fears and the victories we overcome by taken care of ourselves.. Loved, loved, loved the post indigo.

    11 month update

Please Post pics.. I am almost the same height and weight when I had surgery last Monday. Congrats.
  19. Why can't you get someone to take care of your mom for at least two weeks, at your home. My suggestion is to take care of your health now..so that u can continue to take of your mom before her condition deteriorates further. Ask friends, family, or even hire an RN to help out. Best of luck to you on your new journey.

    Nausea

I am 7 days post op. I was trucking alone on my mostly clear liquid diet. Well this am if took about a tablespoon of apple sauce to mix my beds in. That was a big mistake. My body i is not ready for puréed foods . I tried to get protein broth down, jello, etc even water. Well I regurgitate it all .. I am afraid of dehydration. So I am still trying to sip water.,even if it will come up again. I felt I regressed two day. Oh well tomorrow will probably better.
  23. Keep pressing along. Concentrate on non weight victories. U r probably losing inches. And if u have more energy walk longer exercise a little harder. , of course with your docs permission. -a 3 week stall seems the norm by reading the responses from this website. Keep yourself busy and try not to dwell on the scale. The scale can be my friend or my enemy.

    Pain?

Not much pain at all. I stopped taking the pain meds I was prescribed 2 days after I got home. I might have had little bit of discomfort but those pain slow my healing after previous surgeries. Walk several times during the day.. It will help with a quicker recovery.
  25. So good that you went to the hospital on time . we ere thinking of you. I am sure this too shall pass and in no time u will be back to your normal routine. God bless.
