    Gaining weight

Suggest u keep track of foods u eat (I love myfitnesspal and it is free). I am 8 weeks out and ...my goal is 800 calories per day and 65-70'grams off Protein.per day. I do eat fruit with my Protein shakes..sometimes bran cereals with milk, veggies, very little rice, 1/2 slice of 40 calorie bread, I try to eat my protein first. And many times I cannot anything else on my plate cause I am completely satisfied. Exercise has really helped me with a stall I was having for two weeks. I Do cardio for 30 minutes at a medium strenuous pace..the I do machines for my upper /lower body. Get back to basic and u should start losing again. Also r u eating very salty food. ..part of your weight gain maybe be salt retention.

    sleeve

Congrats ...now the losing begins with the sleeve. Follow the eating stages and if u can't move to the next stage ..be patient and give your tummy a break. I had to stay ion full liquids for 3 weeks rather than 2. It all worked out. keep us posted on your progress.

    frustrated

I am eight weeks out and I had the same exact experience as you. The scale would NOT move for two weeks. I upped my protein. From 60 to 70 grams and went to the gym and pushed myself with cardio and weights for one hour , 5 times a week and I lost 3 pounds that first week I did this. So for me exercise did it for me. P..s. . It is also good for us to exercise to tone our bodies.

    anyone else feel stuck?

Don't let statistics or percentages get in your way. Say to yourself "I will reach my goal .it may take longer than expected..but I will get there no matter wha" . It may help to increase your intensity of exercise or length of exercise routine ..a good work out is when sweat is dripping . Get in your protein. Even up it a bit so that u take in less carbs and fat for your 1000 calories per day. You can do it. Look what u have accomplished so far. You r in command of your destination .. Not percentages , not statistics.
  7. Find out why u r throwing up. Are u eating more than u should, r u eating certain foods still not tolerable at this time. Pasta still gives me prob..so I stay away from that. If u cannot figure out what is causing u to throw up.. Call your dr.
  8. What a success...and thanks for posting your journey to health and energy. Seems as though u have made a lifestyle change which is the key for long term success. Congrats. and just in 10.5 months. Wow.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    very confused

We'll I had the lap and several years àgo. It was not successful for me. I was hungry and never felt full. The band at times was uncomfortable. Last September I had a friend that has the sleeve and was maintaining her weight loss after a year of reaching her goal . Maintaining the weight was a big sell for me. I was a yoyo person..lośing /gaining. I researched the sleeve ..pros/ cons ..étc. I decided this was for me cause I was literally exhausted from losing and gaining weight . I was scared, nervous, and anxious to have the sleeve..but something in me said this is for me. So I am 8 Weeks out and am doing just fine. Happy with my weight loss and looking forward to reaching my goal this year. I don't get hungry much anymore, which before surgery I was always hungry. I eat cause I have to.for nutrition. At the hospital at had the surgery...they are ñot performing lapband surgery as before.'

    Transition from liquids to purees.

I had a hard time transitioning from the liquid to purée stage. I had a hard time keeping things down. But after 3 weeks it was much better. So I stayed on purée for 3 weeks rather than 2.. Just listen to your body. Eat slow and a little when u try new foods.
  11. R u logging what u r eating. I use myfitnesspal. If u r, u can show your nut or doc what u typically est.. Since I have been logging what I eat., I know I am getting enough protein and calories.. I am 8 weeks out and my target protein is 65-70 grams and 800 calories. Don't let the nut get u upset if u r following the food protocol.
  12. We have different experiences with the sleeve surgery as far as recovery from the surgery, different paces of tolerating food the first month, etc. etc. we should respect all different views. But to actually demean, argue or get angry on a support site is totally uncalled for. It is not who knows more, who knows best.. It is our personal journey. I appreciate this website cause I witness compassion, sharing of personal struggles and triumphs, providing guidance to the newbies, etc. Tate 777, I am glad u found this website supportive. We can all be reminded that this website is not just about us..but for the good of the people who suffered most of their lives with a disease called obesity. Tate 777 welcome to bariatric pal". Let's leave all our egos away from this site. .

I need to get back on the horse

U may feel anxious".and if I was anxious post op..I turned to food. Of course I did not have yo a pre op diet ..but I did end up losing 10 pounds pre op. Try to keep yourself busy ..idle time is not good for people like us who uses food emotionally. It may be that u r having your last blow out with food..thinking that u will not enjoy food again. But u will enjoy food post op..just in more healthier way. Forget about the past days and concentrate on what u will be like once u have the sleeve. New found energy leaner body, healthier and probably more happy with yourself.. U can do it..yes u can.
  19. Add a meal to your schedule.. Since u want to keep your stomach small.. Also, see a nutritionist that specializes in bariatric care, I am sure she would have a good plan for u. Check with the hospital that u had surgery.. I am sure they can set up an appt with their nutritionist that takes care of bariatric patients.

    Here's a thought...

    Well said Curveycakes.
  21. I love your energy that is exuded in your post. Newcomers will surely enjoy reading your success and how the sleeve can bring u to a place of healthiness and positiveness ..of course not to mention your appearance . I know what u mean by looking younger. I, too, look 10 years younger since I have lost 36 pounds so far. Congrats.. And thanks for your post.
  22. I was not losing much several weeks ago.. We'll I decided to start pushing myself with exercising.. Now I am losing consistently ..last week 3 pounds. I do 30 minutes of cardio. I alternate between stair stepper, treadmill and ecliptic all machine. I am actually dripping with sweat when I am through .. Then I alternate days between lower body and upper body weights for about 15 minutes. Imwould suggest u go back to exercising and increase your intensity. Congrats on your 90 pound lost.. That is amazing. Keep your eyes on the prize.

    Hey I'm New Here!

Ryan..welcome and happy for u that u r getting the sleeve. I am 8 weeks post op and seeing great results. I am not a fast loser. But very happy with my weight loss thus far. Try to stick to your liquid diet 100 percent. There is a good reason that they put u on a liquid diet prior to surgery. If u get head hungry ..keep yourself busy. Go for a stroll, if u are not weather locked. Go to the mall and look at people passing by ..do whatever it take to keep yourself compliant. Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

    carbs

Protein source.egg whites, chicken, pork, beef, cottage cheese, mozzarella sticks,(weight watchers brand), smoothie king low cal --high protein shakes, lifetime fitness protein shakes I get after a work out , salmon, shrimp, smoked salmon, fish, ..
  25. Carlotta1

    carbs

My target for calorie intake is 800 calories per day and 65-70 grams of Protein . If I consume 70 gr of protein, which equals to 280 calories, then the rest of calories come from carb/fat. I stick to not going over 800 calories per day. However, I do sometimes go over 70 gram of protein, which lessens the carb/ fat that I consume that day. How many calories r u targeting per day.? My goal is to each 1000 calories by the end of the third month, April.. based on what my nut provided. I am not interested in losing too fast. I feel that a healthy variety of foods will set a healthy habit for me in the long run.
