    Perth Sleevers?

I am also from Perth. Sleeved 22 of Nov '13' by Dr Dolan. I've lost about 20kgs so far.. Its definitely a lot of hard work & is a tool that needs 100% commitment if you want the results. No regrets at all, but in the first 6-8 weeks you definitely go through the "what have I done to myself" ... And the head hunger of thinking you could go for a larger portion sized meal when in reality you can only eat very little & if you push it you will vomit (not a pleasant experience).. I've learn my full feeling. At the moment I've been noticing my hair falling out anyone else getting this symptom 12 weeks out? It's frustrating .. Any tips?
  3. And is there a max to how much protein a day to have?
  4. Does it matter if the protein is dense proteins such as meats or in liquid form?
  5. Hi all, Just curious to know roughly how many grams of Protein I should be aiming for daily? My dietician never mentioned an amount? I was just told to eat very little & healthily? Not really the advice I needed for my critical stage of weight-loss.. So I never returned to see the bimbo!
  6. Hello everyone, For those with PCOS who got pregnant shortly after surgery (or within the first year) did you find that your period started to become regular cycles again. I'm 7 weeks post op & had a period 3 days post op, and the following month I have had a period again ????. Does this mean I'm beginning to maybe ovulate again & should be extra careful with using some form of contraception during sex? I've suffered from PCOS for many years & usually I'd go months without a period maybe only having 1-3 a year.. So this is somewhat new to me.. Any advice would be appreciated.. As much as I desperately want a baby I know I need to lose the weight first.. Cheers.
  7. I had similar pain in that area, for me it's was shown in a CT scan that I had a partial collapsed lung & pneumonia was on antibiotics for ages! Please get it checked ASAP!
  8. Hi everyone, I'm 6 weeks post op & have found myself resorting to slider foods that are not good at all.. 99% of it being junk.. I'm very concerned as I've lost 14 kgs post op but have stalled for the last 2-3 weeks. I know it's my own fault but that's why I'm trying to figure out a game plan to get my weight loss going.. My question is; have any of you gone back onto Optifast shakes or something similar to kick start your weight loss again? I'm thinking of doing optifast for 12 weeks to get my strict eating back under control again & then in 12 weeks go onto eating strictly Protein.. Ideas? Suggestions anyone?

    Coffee?

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on why we cannot have coffee after being sleeved?
  10. Hi, I had the same exact pain on the right side, it was so excruciating that I went to ED right away. I was 2 weeks out approx at the time, after an X-Ray & CT scan it was found that I had Fluid around the right lung, with an infection in the lower half + pleural effusion ... Unfortunately for me no analgesia worked to ease the pain, I just dealt with it and finally 3 days later it settled from a stabbing pain to aching .. Call your dr and maybe go to ED if it continues!
  11. Hi, I was one of the unfortunate ones. I was sleeved 2 weeks + 3 days ago.. My hospital stay was extended for 1 week due to pneumonia & a partial lower collapsed lung wasn't in my plans but hey this kind of stuff happens. Got released on the Saturday & was back in ED 3 days later with pleural effusion of my other lung , along with another infection in that lung it's been a hard road but I stay positive & hope all will be ok soon. It's good to plan ahead but you just never know how it's all going to go.. Anything can happen. Best of luck to you

Nausea & Vomiting 2 Weeks Post Op

Thanks guys, I see my surgeon tomorrow for my follow-up, so hopefully I'll gain some answers.. ?
  13. Hi everyone, So I'm 2 weeks & 3 days post op & today for some weird reason I started feeling nauseous & vomited a few times.. Even sipping Water makes me feel ill.. Has this happened to anyone else this far out? I haven't eaten anything different & it's just come on all of a sudden.. I can't even swallow pills .. And I haven't over-eaten at all.. Please help.
  14. Hi everyone, So I had my gastric sleeve done on Friday the 22nd nov. My first 2 -3 days were hell... I was in excruciating pain & constantly feeling nauseous.... I used the analgesia as much as I wanted.. And the anti-emetics. Now at day 5 and still in hospital as I now have pneumonia ... I have absolutely no desire to drink my fluids.. The thoughts of it makes me feel sick.. I'm still taking strong analgesia.. Please if anyone was in a similar situation to me and recovered well please let me know. Any other tips would be great also..
  15. Another nurse here. Unfortunately I also was overweight / obese prior to my nursing years..but since starting nursing I have found the stress and hours only make my problem worse The hectic hours & back to back shifts do not help with trying to lower my weight. Like many other nurses I'll skip lunch and always skip breakfast then when it came to 4 PM id eat absolute crap because I was absolutely tired and starving! Now I'm 2 years into my nursing and I've realised that I need to put me first.. I had a moment where I've realised that I need to take care of myself instead of letting work control my life... Looking forward to the new me
