  1. Almost had a full blown panic attack when I got on the scale this morning. I've lost 120 lbs. I am 17 months post op and for the last few months my weight has been stable. I normally fluctuate from 162-164, which I think is mostly water weight. Two weeks ago I started doing crossfit and got on the scale today expecting to be on the lower end of my flux or even slightly lower. Instead I weighed in at 165.4. I know it's not much, but it's got my anxiety through the roof right now. My husband doesn't really get it and thinks I'm nuts about freaking out about a pound. Needed to get this off my chance to someone that can relate to the fear of gain. I'm just so confused by how this happened when I've upped my exercise level.
  2. I have a friend whose daughter rubs down in Preparation H right before working out. So there might be something to this. But my dr. recommends against it because a lot of people end up having adverse reactions to it. Ya'll try it out though and let me know how it goes. If it works, maybe I'll try it, lol.

Almost at the 11 month mark, it's gone by so fast! I'm feeling great, still 20 pounds off goal. I went on a cruise last month and got a bit off track, scale hasn't moved an ounce in almost 3 months. So I'm doing a week of liquids right to kind of purge system and get back on track. How is everyone else doing since we're almost at our year mark?

So things have gone pretty well to this point. My surgery was 10/21/13 I was around 245 at surgery and 287 at my highest weight. There are a LOT of food my new stomach doesn't like, eggs, frozen and some raw veggies, bread, Pasta, potatoes, which makes staying away from the naughty foods easy, lol. I definitely having dumping, only had to do that once to know I don't want to do it again. My hair, oh my poor hair, it's probably not even half as thick as it was before surgery and when I go through cycles of hair loss my head itches like crazy, this seems to happen any time I come out of a stall and loose weight. So there's no winning there. I've been fortunate in my surgical victories but just as lucky in my NSVs. Last weekend I got on the roller coaster that marked my rock bottom with my weight. Two years ago I had to get off the ride because I didn't fit, well I fit this time, with room to spare! I have zero regrets about my decision, except that I wish I'd done it earlier. I still have (probably more) body image issues than I had before, but I feel so great that it's still worth it.
  5. My anxiety levels have been through the roof lately and it's all revolved entirely around work. I've always had stress from work but never so much anxiety. I was shaking like crazy, crying nonstop (so opposite from my usual self), and having horrible panic attacks. My friend said she had anxiety issues after losing over a 100 pounds. I'm just wondering if this is common.

Wow that is really incredible! How much are you working out? Have you followed the diet completely or what? I've been really good and am still only down 55 lbs since surgery (100 total though) and I was super stoked about that. A size 6 seems like a pipe dream at this point.
  7. So I hit my first goal of being under 200 lbs. yesterday. This is the least I've weighed in a very long time. Now just 60lbs to go! I had my surgery Oct. 21st and am so happy with how much better I feel already. This past week I was able to add some jogging into my walk without my joints killings afterward. My goal is to run my first 5K by the end of the year and at this rate I think I might just achieve that goal. I can honest admit that I am dying for a glass of wine or an Oreo, but the little sacrifices are so worth it.

Are you still doing protein shakes too? I notice I have more cravings when I don't do my shakes. I usually hide my protein in a cup of decaf coffee. But 950 isn't bad. I'd talk to your dr. If you have questions about how much you can eat. He will have better advice than any of us here, it is his job anyway, lol.

I'm eating between 600 & 900 calories a day. I have focused most on making sure I'm getting enough protein and I am working out. Mostly just walking at this point.

I totally get your fear of failing and gaining it back. I've lost hundreds over the years and have always gained it back plus. So it's so hard to imagine that it's possible to be successful long term with this. I've had the same fears but That's why I finally decided to do this. Before surgery I told my husband that I hoped I would be a dumper so I wouldn't be tempted to got back to old habits & lucky me I got my wish, lol. This experience has been a tool for some extreme behavior modification. I've been through a couple of stalls now and it's frustrating, but it's teaching me a lot and I'm trying to focus more on how I feel. This week I plan to start the couch 2 5K program to get myself moving more. I want to be able to enjoy the things I did when I was younger, run, take long bike rides and ride ALL the roller coasters at amusement parks. Keep your head up and stick with the plan, you'll hit your goals eventually.

Oh, it's half as thick as it was before, I don't have bald spots or anything but it's definitely thinning. I get in between 60 & 80 g of protein every day so I don't think it's my protein intake alone. I think it's my thyroid too. I'll find out when I get my labs next month.

I had my surgery oct. 21st and have had a pretty easy go of it except for the learning curve of what my pouch will and won't like. I've learned that frozen vegetables are definitely not my friend, and I should avoid all forms of string beans. I haven't tried things on the naughty list like sweets or fried anything, I'm to stinking scared to, lol. I haven't really missed any of it though, so it's been pretty easy. The picture attached is me at my highest, in May at 285 and two weeks ago at 210. Both pics are in the same sweater. I'm currently at 205 and am happy with my loss so far, just not the hair loss.

I did the same thing. I was so excited after seeing the side by side shots, like "omg! Now I know why everyone else keeps telling me I'm melting". I just don't think we really see the full extent of our weightless when we see ourselves in the mirror everyday.
