  1. Hey I am hoping for a February date, I started in beginning of November... I wanted to know roughly about how long were your process before getting a date? I know everyone is different but I just wanted to round it off....
  2. Chantix is not good my doc says, that's why she prescribed me Zyban instead. Chantix makes you depressed and suicidal and just isn't as effective as Zyban. You should speak to your doc about getting Zyban. I can't believe your doc prescribed you that with such bad reviews it's been getting, anyway good luck!
  3. I have to admit, ever since I quit smoking I have been eating up the wooohaaaa, Then I feel so guilty... I guess that's just another thing I need to control!
  4. I just read on web MD that Zyban does not contain nicotine and I can say phew! I was a lil scared there but I am glad I can still take it to control my cravings without that question of is their nicotine in here, are the docs gonna stop my surgery? Now I'm so relieved!
  5. It's great to hear you're home and doing well!
  6. That's one thing I worry about like will I like the way I look once I'm smaller, I know my hubby will be use he is a trainer so he wants this for me more than I do! But theirs that question still in the back of my head!
  7. I started my process last month November and have my nutritionist appointment on the 23rd I am hoping and praying for a February date! Or maybe beginning of March the latest...
  8. That's true not all surgeons check, I've read a few people still smoked throughout their surgery before and after, if my doc says anything I will bring my prescription for Zyban that I am taking which helped me quit! I still have time anyway I'm hoping for surgery at least by feb/mar hopefully sooner...
  9. My surgeon hasn't said anything but I stopped anyway it took me about a month to fully quit! Even at times when I felt like it was hopeless (when I made this thread) but I stayed focused and finally quit! I am 1 week smoke free now!!!
  10. It was my doctor... they did a blood test. And even repeated it.. he was very strict on the amount of nicotine that could not be in my system. Having nicotine in your body increases risk of infection and slows healing process Ok I see, I'm glad I quit wayyy before they told me to...
  11. Oh and welcome to the site, hope you like theirs some really supportive people on here!!! Enjoy! What health insurance don't accept if you smoke??? I am on Zyban which has nicotine in it I plan on bringing my bottle to them to show.
  12. Lol that's so true make me stop eating and cigarettes you trying to make me psychotic lol, congrats on your surgery date for Monday good luck with everything... It's been a week I haven't smoked... I have my nutritionist appt on the 23rd I'm hoping for surgery in February... Fingers crossed!
  13. I know a few people who have had Rny and didn't really have support, but in all reality the lifestyles of their family and friends are unhealthy which lead to being over weight, you have to do this for you! Forget what anyone else thinks... You will love the new you! This is about your health! Junk food and soda are not good anyways! But down the line you will be able to eat again in portions that are acceptable... I've been overweight my whole life, I'm now 27 with a bmi of 43 I only wish I did it when I was 21 so I could of enjoyed my 20s more! Do what you feel will make you happy... We're here to support you!
  14. Congrats on your date!
  15. I'm on Zyban and the patch, I still have nicotine in my blood... I'm bringing my bottle and patches prescription with me to show them that's what I'm on and not smoking! I hope they don't test me though!
  16. Yes it affects the healing process that's why many surgeons won't operate if you smoke, and the insurance won't approve you also so better to stop for the best!
  17. Yea I've read a few people didn't have to stop smoking, I guess it really depends on the surgeon and their requirements. Congrats on your surgery glad to hear that everything went well.
  18. Yes It is great to smell like a woman again and not an ash tray lol
  19. Yes I am, it's so hard but I am keeping it going not going back and staying strong on my journey to a new life!!!! Thanks chica
  20. I been a couple days smoke free, I know sounds like nothing but to me it's baby steps to quitting considering I have not been a day without smoking in 10 years so I'm kinda happy I made that first step to living healthier and having more money in my pocket lol
  21. Yes I am trying my best, thanks for your support!
  22. Yes they are evil lil f*ckers lol... Hey I bought this book Alan carr - quit smoking the easy way and watch some of his videos on YouTube, they helped a bit, not yet done with the book though... Hope it works! Praying!!!!! So how is the book working for you? I was amazed how easy it was to kick my nicotine habit. I had a harder time with caffeine. Never thought I could ever stop chewing but going on 5 weeks with no issues. Good luck you can do this. The book is good has some great techniques to think of to stop but when there's someone else in the house that smokes, it is hard! I can smell my fiancé and the smoke from outside and it's just soooooo tempting... It's worse after meals it's all I think about. I've been trying to keep myself busy so I don't fall in... I don't want my nasty habit to create more of a problem for me during or after surgery so I am really trying for my best interest in my health... Everyday it gets better hopefully in a week or so I won't want anything!!!!
  23. My ecig has nicotine in it, I believe if you speak to your surgeon and bring the ecig in to show that's why you have nicotine in your blood they should excuse you, or at least give u orders to stop them before surgery... When I see my doc I'm going to tell her I have been having trouble stopping by I am trying with my ecig, my patches and my Zyban so she will understand the effort I making I still have time before surgery so I am making progress.
  24. So the doctors office calls me and says my nutritionist appointment will be a group appointment due to a high volume of patients and schedule appts are so backed up... Has anyone else had a group appointment and what should I expect? Also for seeing my nutritionist for the first time... How does it go?
