9storme6 got a reaction from Dooter in Two Years out: LISTEN UP NOOBS AND SEEKERS! *warning-harsh*
Best Topic ever!! I know that the sleeve or any bariatric surgery is just a tool, not a cure all. I had my sleeve October 30, 2013. I was worried at first that it wouldn't work at all, silly me. Guess I still have it in my head that diets don't work for me. I have been doing very well, I've lost 52 lbs and lots of inches. I go to the gym regularly and eat what I am supposed to. But when I go visit family or friends out of town, it all goes out the door. I feel like I'm going to just go back to all my bad behaviors. I need to get my butt back to the basics and get back on track. I haven't been on the site for a long time, then I read your post today. Its the encouragement and butt kicking I needed. I know there will be set backs, I just don't want to fall back into bad behaviors and not lose the weight I need and want to. I am glad that there are honest sleevers out there. The truth may hurt, but it will set you free. Thanks for the post.

9storme6 reacted to piercedqt78 in What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
At upscale places, I usually order an "add on" like grilled shrimp, or scallops. Or I get an extra plate and steal a few bites from my hubby, and daughter. If we are at a Mexican place I will get some pintos, or a single steak taco, I leave the shell behind and eat the filling. At the local Chinese place I get a small cashew chicken, and what I don't eat makes for lunch the next day. I tell them very very little rice. I will have a bite or 2 with each meal. My favorite place to eat out is chipotle, I get a soft chicken taco, with a little of each kind of Beans, very light rice, chicken, fresh tomatoes, some sour cream, and light cheese. Again I just leave the taco shell behind. I get chili at Wendy's, or a grilled chicken sandwich with no bun. Also burger king does a "low carb" option on every sandwich they offer. It's all the veggies and meat with no bun, in a side salad container. I had a whopper jr made low carb for lunch today, it was the perfect lunch for $1.50. There are options anywhere you go, you just have to look for the right choice. I also always ask if they bread their chicken or fish on site. If so I can ask for things to be super lightly breaded. You would be amazed at the places that can do just that.

9storme6 got a reaction from bbe71 in October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!
Sleeved on 10/30/13 with a weight of 272. I think I am doing ok, having a problem getting Vitamins down, just doing my best. Im sick of the fluids already, but its all part of the journey. According to my scale I have lost 12 pounds. I was tired all the time, but yesterday I had trouble sleeping, thought that was odd. I think food commercials should be outlawed, or at least the pizza ones, lol. So good luck to everyone, keep in touch.

This happened to me and after the review it was all good. Some insurance companies are picky. If you have co morbidities and your wt and BMI are not healthy you should not have a problem. Good luck. Keep us updated.
