  1. I love Proactiv. I use all their products. I never believed it would work' date=' because I have tried everything. But it does!.What I would recommend to the OP is their Green Tea Moisturizer. It is fabulous. It feels great and soaks in wonderfully.[/quote']

I second the Proactiv endorsement! I have terribly oily/acne prone skin, though it does appear to be getting less oily since my surgery 12 days ago...hmmm...anyway, Proactiv has kept my skin amazingly clear! I do have a few breakouts around my time of the month, but nothing like it used to be! I've been using the products for several years now and I love the green tea moisturizer!!

  2. I found by mixing unflavored Isopure (mix this with 1-2 oz. Water before adding anthing else so it doesn't clump)' date=' a vanilla sugar free carnation instant breakfast, instant Decaf coffee, a couple teaspoons of splenda... and sometimes some cinnamon with 16 ounces of warm to hot Water. You can not taste the protien powder at all, and I put it in a to go coffee cup with a lid so I do not smell the protien powder either. This gives me 34g of protien. I usually drink this over the first 2 hours I am awake. It is so good especially with the cinnamon... makes me feel like Im having a Starbucks :-)[/quote']

Yum!! That sounds so good! I haven't found vanilla instant breakfast! I need to do some research! Lol!

  3. Hi my surgery was Oct 23. Just startimg pureed food. Can u tell me what u r eating to get in somuch Protein without the shakes? What do u have for Snacks? Congats on your weight loss

I am having one shake in the mornings. I mix it with 8 oz of 1% milk instead of Water. Tastes better and gives me 33 grams of Protein instead of 25. I eat ff refried Beans with a little mild taco sauce and some shredded cheese mixed in. That is around 8 grams of protein. I am able to eat about 4 oz of dense soft protein, so it has been very easy for me to get the protein in. This equals a can of tuna drained with a little mayo, mustard, lemon juice mixed in, or a 4 oz filet of tilapia cut into small bites and chewed well. I also found that pulled BBQ pork with a little BBQ Sauce mixed in has the same texture/density as my tuna salad. All of those options have about 22-27 grams of protein/serving. That is how I am getting the protein in.

Talk to your dr . or NUT about the soft meats. My surgeon recommends them during the purée stage, but all are different!

  4. Sleeved October 24th. I entered the hospital at 327, left at 338 (IV fluids/ swelling), I am now down to 312!! So 15 lbs are gone forever. I lost 14 pounds on my own before my surgery, so that is 29 lbs gone forever!!! I'm at a stall right now, but reading the posts on these boards gives me hope that this is common. I can't wait for the next loss!! Now that I am on soft foods, this journey has gotten much easier! I am drinking one Protein Shake a day and getting the rest of my Protein from food! I've also been able to get all my Water in...though most nights I am sitting up before going to bed, trying to get in those last few oz. lol!

  5. I had my sleeve on the 24th also. I am on soft foods too. My list includes tuna and soft meats. My surgeon suggested trying a broiled white fish first, before trying the denser tuna. I baked a piece of tilapia the next day with lemon juice and dill. It went down just fine! I tried tuna the next day and no problems with that either. My parents made pulled pork BBQ today and I had some of that with some BBQ Sauce mixed in. It had much the same texture as the tuna and went down great! I have yet to throw up or experience reflux! That BBQ was sooo good too! I don't know about you, but being able to chew something has been super-helpful in curbing that head hunger! I think most of us have to battle the head hunger cravings. I just pray it gets easier the further we go into this journey!
