  1. Holy cow, both your sisters passed away from heart attacks that young? Damn, sorry to hear that. I wish you luck with your approval.
  2. Why do you even care what other people think? Post what you like and let the haters hate.
  3. As long as you reach your protein goals set by your doc it really don't matter in what form you get it.
  4. Just follow your docs instructions, he or she is better prepared to advise you than anyone on this forum is.
  5. My surgeon gave us a "goodie" bag which included a pedometer and a water bottle that has a straw built in and a flip up straw that you drink through. If straws were really bad for us I don't think he would have done that.
  6. Mine was yesterday on the 31st, went without a hitch, feeling fine and having no pain. In fact it feels like nothing has changed besides some soreness at the incisions, which makes me a little worried because even if I drink 16oz of water at a time, or a whole 8oz of protein shake I don't feel full at all, I'm not hungry either though, so that's good!
  7. You guys sure are uptight. You post how you like and I shall post how I like.
  8. Why would you say that? I read his post and his post has all the relevant information to his situation, nothing anyone else posted mattered.
  9. I didn't read the rest of the thread and just read the initial post but it sounds like you may need direct counseling rather than a support group. You may be addicted to food and alcohol.
  10. My family long since gave up the idea of having our mom slave away in the kitchen for days and we all just go out to eat on thanksgiving and have other people prepare the food!
  11. I'll be 4 weeks out on thanksgiving, I hope I am able to eat some turkey at least.
  12. Yeah, add some unflavored protein powder into chicken broth and that gives me my savory fix when I'm sick of all the sweets. Unjury chicken soup protein powder is pretty good too!
  13. Wow you are in great shape. I hope to be like you in a year!
  14. If you are losing inches then you are doing well I think. Don't be a slave to the scale because it's going to drive you nuts. I plan to only weigh myself once a month or when I visit my PCP or surgeon.
  15. If you are following your surgeon and nutritionists directions to the letter, then no you aren't doing something wrong, your body may just need time to adapt still. Have you been exercising more? You could be putting on a little bit more muscle.
  16. Also I've found Syntrax brand Fuzzy Navel to be a super thin protein mix even with the regular amount of water. It don't taste too bad either once I put a drop or two of ezsweetz in. It's liquid splenda without any of the carbs that the powdered packets have from the filler they use.
  17. Try making your protein drinks super watery, like if the instructions say add 8oz of water to one scoop, try 16 or 24 oz with it. It'll dilute it and possible make it easier to take down over a longer period of time.
  18. Incredible, keep it up!
  19. Thanks, I hope yours does too! I just started to try eating some sugar free jello, stomach is a little less happy about it than the chicken broth and unflavored protein powder, but it isn't too bad. Little bit of gurgling and burping and slight stomach pain. I did take two percocets first though:P I drank 16oz of water no problem before I started eating the jello.
  20. No trouble at all getting fluids in so far. I have not tried anything mushy yet. Got sleeved yesterday.
  21. Just woke up, I could sleep on my side my back or however I wanted. Still feel a little sore but a little less than yesterday. I hope this trend continues!
  22. Did it. I was so nervous but it all went by in a blink of an eye. I am having very little pain, what amounts to a dull ache around the incision sites. I Walked from one side of the hospital to the other a couple of times upon waking up and was sent on my way home after a few hour nap. So far so good!
