1. My husband and I both had vsg surgery on 10/16/2013. Together we have lost a total of 128lbs! He's lost 70lbs and I'm down 58lbs. I'm so happy we decided to have the surgery. I had some complications and went through a phase of regret but that's all past me now.
2. I had surgery on 10/16/2013 the first few weeks went great. I recovered quickly and was back to work after two weeks. Around week 5 I started getting severely naseaus eating or drinking anything made it much worse. I was still on a full liquid stage. I was given some anti nausea medication but it didn't help. I became severely dehydrated and had to get IV fluids several times before my surgeon admitted me to the hospital. I had my gallbladder removed and I thought that would help with the naseau but it got worse. It got to where I was vomiting every 30 mins and could not keep anything down. I was hospitalized again and had a picc line placed and received TPN and lipids. I finally was able to come home yesterday. I'm trying really hard not to feel regret about having the surgery. Its just been a rough road and I'm hoping it starts to get a little better.

I know I need to follow my docotrs orders but 9 weeks just seems like forever to start pureed foods.

I had no problem with the protein shakes before surgery but now I have a really hard time with sweets even the multivitamins make me sick due to being so sweet. I have the clear isopure drinks but even those are super sweet. I just purchased an unflavored protein powder so hopefully that helps.

post op diet

Hello, I had my sleeve done on the 16th of October, and I have been on liquid diet since. On Wednesday it will be three weeks out and the next phase is a full liquid diet which adds strained soups, cream of wheat, vegetable juice, and yougurt. The pureed/soft food stage phase doesnt statt until week 9, and then regular food will be introduced at week 13. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar post op diet. I am discouraged right now because I'm not tolerating the protein shakes at all so I'm not able to get in the proper amount of protein and I feel like I'm starving.
