  1. There was a time I would think to myself, women who wear heels all day at work, to the mall (of all places), had serious confidence issues to bare such agony. 7 months ago, I could wear heels for 1 hour max and I would have to change into flats, 70 lbs lighter and I now see the light. This has been one of the ultimate NSV's for me. I can wear my heels all day run up & down stairs & not break a sweat. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!!! Thank you GOD for allowing me this 2nd chance!
  2. Thank you all for the responses. MegaBob, I know I am just being lazy. I will make a better effort this week. I just hope I soon receive that energy burst.
  3. I am 3.5 months in, 46 pounds lost & have not committed to exercise. I know the first year is the most important, but I still haven't got that burst of energy so many talk about. How long before you committed to exercise? SW 258, CW 212, GW 160.

    Time off work?

I have an office job. I took 1 week & 3 days off. Still suffered from soreness in the large incision, but the moving around helped.

    Driving Right After Surgery?

I drove on day 8 & that was the worst thing I could of done. So uncomfortable. I truly wanted to recline my chair all the way back & pray that God took the wheel. I was wearing loose fit yoga pants, but the pressure from the roll in my stomach right above & under the large incision was so painful. I had to pull over after 15 minutes to get out & stretch to relieve the pressure. If you can hold off, please do. Even at 3 weeks there was still discomfort.

    No Serious Health Issues

Shay I didn't have any co- morbities either, but my BMI was 42 that alone qualified me. I have Aetna. Be sure to contact your insurance company an get the facts. I know with Aetna I was able to go online & print their clinical policy for bariatric surgey.

How Far Post Op Until Meat?

It doesn't hurt. Just make sure you chew like 15- 20 times. The meat has to be like mush before you swallow. I did experience discomfort whenever I ate in a hurry and didn't chew properly, but once that happens, you do what you can to avoid that feeling. Everyone is different, but just take your time, your pace, it should be fine. Start with baked salmon or talapia. Cut it in half, take small bites and enjoy. if you like fish.

How Far Post Op Until Meat?

My doctor put me on soft foods on week 2. So week 2 I could have chicken, fish, turkey as long as it was moist. That will also include deli meats.

3 Weeks Out. What Were U Eating?

I am on soft food stage. The 2nd week out my doctor put me on soft foods. Chicken, fish, turkey, any of which can also be deli meats. I can eat grits, eggs, cooked veggies. Special K chips. Fruit in juice/water. Tuna. I have a large variety. I will be on soft foods for 1 more week. On my 5th week, I can incorporate everything back as long as I can tolerate.
