    100 Roses

That is so sweet! Congratulations on your 100 pounds!
  2. My surgeon gave me a list to choose from including protein drinks, protein bars, vitamins, etc. I too would not like it if I had to purchase a product they sell.

    Mothers! Words Say A Mouthful

My father-in-law must be related to your mother. My surgery date is 11/22. I don't expect any nice comments from him. I know it is hurtful to you. You have succeeded! I'm very happy for you. Right now, I don't think I could fit one leg in a size 6! By reading stories like our, I am hopeful! Thanks for posting.
  4. Mr. coffee 12 cup coffee maker.....I'm pre-op...day 7!

  6. Great to hear. I have surgery 11/22. I hear sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk over and over in my head! I wish you a speedy recovery.

    Smoking!?

You are changing your lifestyle with the surgery. If like most of us, we want to become healthy. I may get bashed for saying this, but it looks like you are trying to beat the test regarding smoking. I gave up smoking in March when I had to be hospitalized for COPD. I live with it everyday. I never thought that would happen to me, well it did. Smoking will effect your healing. I hope you are able to put the cigarettes down. It may save your life.

    I Want To Eat...

Good for you. I always feel better after a haircut. Pedicure and manicure too!
  9. Y'all both look terrific! Congratulations! I noticed you are both smiling in the after pics!
  10. I have Cigna and I did have to have 6 months supervised diet. One Cigma may require it, another Cigna plan may not. It's best to call both insurance providers to see what they cover. My Cigna coverage pays 100% of surgery and hospitalization. Some Cigna plans do not. I would do comparisons and pick the one that has more benefit for you. Good luck!

    Size 10!

Wow! Amazing! You look great and look smaller than a 10. Share your secret!
  12. I too am on pre-op diet. Are you getting any protein? Protein is very important, both now and after. Can you drink protein shakes? My favorite is Pure Protein. 30 g protein. Everyone has their preference.

    I Want To Eat...

I have not been sleeved yet, who knows I may get the same way. I have depression and am on meds. As you probably know, the worst thing you can do is nothing although it's hard two when you are depressed. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm sure you know with depression it's hard to get motivated or staying focused. Sometime you just have to get going. I know it's hard and I'm not always able to do it. My husband usually recognizes when I'm there and he will insist we do something to try to get out and do something. Good luck.....

    Need Some Help....thoughts Please

I've never heard of eating this early out. I will be on clear liquids for two weeks, full liquids for two more, then puréed and soft. I dont get real food for 6-8 weeks. Does your surgeon recommend food two weeks out from surgery?

    I Want To Eat...

I understand! I'm going on a week on my 2 week pre-op. My incentive to stick with it are that I feel so much better than I did before...eating junk food! I also keep telling myself nothing taste as good as feeling skinny. The numbers going down on the scale are a bonus! This is not forever, we can eat again, just with good choices and eating a lot less. Don't get me wrong, I do get hungry. I do something till it passes. The other night I was very hungry and went to bed early. We can do this! Good luck to you!
  17. I love this. So true. And if I hear easy way out one mo time, I will strangle that person. Pre-op had, but sticking with it...no cheating here! Oh..for those easy way out people..how about liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 4 weeks soft good for 3 weeks. Then living with a few bites of food at a time. Oh yea, we are taking the easy way out! Please!

At The End Of The Day...

I understand. I have a few supporters, but more that have said, just exercise and watch what you eat. If it were that easy I would have lost weight years ago! This board has helped me a lot! You can do this and deserve it! I just keep thinking, I'll show them! Hang in there, you have lots of support here!
  19. I'm on day 5 pre-op. This may be TMI, but maybe useful. Since I've been getting so much protein I have become constipated. It's been over 3 days since I've had a BM. I took a laxative this morning and hope it works! I certainly would not recommend a laxative unless you are constipated. Just a thought. Good luck to you!

    Call me <evil> but...

Funny. My brothers have often given me a hard time....up until a few years ago, they called my little piggy. I remember them calling me that since early childhood. I don't see them often, but when I do, I will probably ask where is little piggy. I hope they have put on a few pounds! Also, my ex and his wife...for obvious reasons.
  21. How about .... While sitting in recliner using stomach to hold your drink.

    Looking for advice - PLEASE!

I have reflux and hernia. My surgeons office is also a Center of Excellence. My surgeon is going to repair the hernia when I get the sleeve. She also told me reflux (like so many other conditions related to obesity)would greatly improve with weight loss. Just wanted to share. Good luck to you.

    Self Control

My surgery is 11-22. I cut out a lot of things prior to mt pre-op diet. I do a lot of self talk. My favorite one is "nothing taste as good as skinny feels". I want to feel better. I'm tired of being fat and everything that goes with it. We are supposed to eat to live, not live to eat. You can do this. You will have so many changes in your life! You are worth it! Take care.
