  1. Thanks for the kind words, Not real good on these boards or I would post some graphics. Will work on getting some pics. Also failed to mention the Quest protien bars were great for me. Never without one.. The Chocolate chip cookie dough is great but they have all kinds of flavors. Keep staying positive and remember if you fall down get back up, Dust off and get going again.
  2. I have officially met my original goal of 142 pounds lost as of today, I started at 352 lbs and now weigh in at 210... Had my surgery last Dec 13 (On a Friday)... I know, Crazy.. But this decision saved my life and career, I am now going back to the hospital to start giving talks at new classes after first of next year. I was needing total knee replacements and have already had a spinal fusion so I was pretty desperate, Not to mention surviving a massive pulmonary embolism after the back surgery.. But I was so successful with the sleeve by following the directions verbatim, No arguing or rationlizing why I had to do what they said to do.. Once I got past the mental hurdle about 6 to 8 weeks out and the weight was falling off I became totally dedicated to success, I think also that I had to pay out of pocket 16,000 bucks helped keep me dedicated (Like an Investment).. I have had several people reach out to me for their decision whether to do this or not and I am careful about telling people yes they HAVE to do this... Everybody has to become MENTALLY PREPARED for this journey and for me it worked out great and continues to work out great. Walking 5 miles a day now and bought a great elliptical machine.. Anybody that has doubts and needs more information message me and I will try to help.. Jerry.

Everybody feels regret at some point but you need to start thinking of down the road after your weight loss or something to keep your mind off the present and focus on your goals. Like I said earlier, It WILL get better. I went out to eat last night and looked up menu on line and knew what to order before i got there, Jyust ate slow and enjoyed the conversation more instead of just the food. I had a 6 oz salmon and broccoli and was just fine.

Things will get better ,Do you have a counselor or someone with your hospital/doctor to talk to ? I am able to gulp several big swigs of water now and not hurt, I was concerened about just "Sipping" myself but I promise you will be able to. Just give it some more time and keep on keeping on.
  6. Today I am 8 weeks post op and I have lost 71 lbs total, 20 during two week liquid phase pre op and 51 during the 8 weeks after surgery. Best decision of my life. Was heading for double knee replacements and could not walk 50 feet because of severe pain. I was ready to quit work but now I am walking 2 to 3 miles a day, Still have pain in knees but getting better. Feel fantastic overall. I read alot of the negative issues people are having but wanted to share my story.

  9. I am using the Bariatric Advantage chocolate and vanilla protein. Did not sample many others but these have very little aftertaste especially after adding a little frozen fruit, But I have just finished my first day of my 14 total. Surgery is Dec 13.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Was just notified today about being moved from November 20 to December 13. Really upset at the delay. Readfy to roll. I am 51 year old male starting at 344 lbs, Used to be so atheltic and now I can't even walk due to my knees. Looking forward to a great future. I am self pay, Was denied by insurance twice since 2010 and really glad I was now because I would have had a lap band instead.....
