    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

hi @@finally --- insane how our society really makes it tough to be a happy obese person but then again even without the ridicule it just isn't a healthy state of being. I was miserable eating dunkin donuts 2x a day along with those creamy full fat whipped top iced coffee drinks -- entemanns Louisiana crunch cake I would devour in 1-2 days bad bad bad -- greasy Chinese takeout ribs fried everything you name it ...muffins cookies ice cream it wasn't good. It never made me feel good really just added to my misery with hopes of numbing the stress and low self worth Happy wls has helped me keep this weight off and I hope it is lifelong! Congrats to you and I'm definitely rocking my 10s these days! Can't believe I just typed that I'm wearing 10s! Wow

    African American Sleevers

When my paperwork was submitted in oct 2013 I had bmi of 40 and Bcbs NJ empire approved me with zero co-morbidities. I lost about 22 pounds before surgery which put me at bmi of 37 or so and I was still fully covered with zero comorbids!

Battling gastritis and inflammation --- doc office said it's just the way my body is deciding to heal itself ...I was fine on solids back in January and February then trouble but slowly things are getting better my nut said I can try Greek yogurt and eggs again so perhaps I will tomorrow. I get a lot of tugging and stabbing pain throughout the day while drinking or not ..I also had hernia repair same time as vsg on 121213

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I'm surprisingly slipping into 10s which is insane to me -- had to pull up my 12 jeans all day today even tho I had a belt on --- this is nuts nuts nuts to me I've never been this slim for this long as an adult ...it's really like a new life. Sadly now people pay attention to me, they ask me questions more and want to know more about me, I've also had people make fat jokes about others in front of me thinking I will get in on it too having know clue about my past morbid obese size and misery. I've never been called pretty and beautiful as much as I do these days and it really is so foreign .... I get shocked when people tell me you look good or ur so slim ...it's like I have to turn around and look for the person they are really talking about ......down 85+since October and about 62 since surgery on 121213

    All of my December sleevers...

Thanks @Michigan!! so I guess it's the creamy drinks and ice cream that can get through easy overtime? Plus little to no fitness -- even when I was tolerating solids post op back in January my portions were so itty bitty I could ever get my minimum protein in without 2-3 shakes per day. Took me 45 minutes to an hour to eat 1 boiled or scrambled egg

    All of my December sleevers...

Curvy jones how is the weight gain for some after sleeve and bypass explained? I'm only 4.5 months out and still battling gastritis and inflammation so my restrictions are more than most and my diet is 98% full liquid but I hear stories of ppl gaining 30 40 50 even 100+ After several years post op

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

Wow!! I have surpassed my goal of 175! I'm still on mostly liquids these days due to inflammation and gastritis but have been approved for pb2 (powdered peanut butter), Greek yogurt and salmon but its all still a slow go and everything still hurts SW: about 235-237 can't remember exactly CW 173.8 HW ever in 2009: 293 HW last year: 260 (2 months b4 vsg&hernia) Lost over 86 pounds since oct 2013, and about 62+ since surgery on 12.12.13 I'm 5'7" everyone tells me to stop losing but I can't help it at this point due to highly restrictive diet even at 4.5 months out. I'm happy with the 170s and can't believe it when I pass by a mirror. Surgeon said I could get to 150s but metabolic doc suggests maintaining low 170s so I don't lose too much good muscle on my large frame Good luck everyone!!! I'm being forced to shop for some size 8s and 10s as my 12s and 14s are slipping off. My newly purchased smaller bras of 36b are getting roomier as well which saddens me as I don't have much more boobies to spare

Anyone Use Dr. Nusbaum In Nj?

-- His office manager shelly made a big mistake, gave me the wrong instructions one night and lied about it so of course the innocent patient gets blamed. The doc was unfortunately woken up during my ER Visit recently, got upset then sent his assistant Joan to my hospital room minutes b4 my endoscopy to be nasty and blame me for his office manager's mistake I didn't want or need to be in the ER that night but that is exactly what his office manager told me to do and I thought she knew what she was talking about and confirmed it with the doctor. She was loud and clear for everyone in the waiting room to hear her-- it's really all very sad because I had so much respect and appreciation for the doctor and Joan but I won't tolerate the disrespect or false accusations. All the respect I had for them went straight out my hospital room window the morning of my endoscopy I will surely miss Sweta, Wanda and Carla without a doubt. They are were all so very helpful and respectful Good luck with your post op experience there but beware of any instruction from Shelly - I suggest getting it all in writing and confirming with Sweta or Wanda if you have to I've never dealt with anything like this ever before and would never disrespect one on my healthcare professionals but life goes on

Dr Nusbaum in livingston/Morristown is a very insensitive, nasty and mean -spirited surgeon -- I'm continuing my post op care with dr abkin in florham park

  23. --------I have regrets too but we can't turn back the clock's hands -- I'm 4 months out and required to stay on full liquids due to gastritis and suture inflammation. I've lost 60 pounds since surgery and happy about that and want to keep it off bit this all seems so extreme to me. I will pray all works out well for me and continue to pray for my healing. I feel so abnormal drinking all day.

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

Vsg plus hernia repair on 12.12.13 I'm 5'7" tall Dealing with gastritis and suture inflammation -- required to stay on full liquids until mid June (very sad face). I gotta follow doc office orders to heal as soon as possible. I'm praying through this, it's the only way I can humanly endure it. No hunger & no appetite but I want to be normal and be able to tolerate solids ASAP SW: around 235-237 HW last year: about 260 HW ever (2009): 293 CW: 176.4 Hope I don't waste away on this 2 month liquid diet as doc office assures me that won't happen my brand new size 12 pants are All getting too big and I've been having to pull up my size 10 jeans today all day even though I had a belt. I can't imagine shopping for a size 8 anything but looks like I may have to sooner than later. Tops are medium. Boobs getting smaller and smaller and I really don't have much to spare at 36B--- largest bra size for me was a snug 38C but I should have really been in a 40C. Congrats everyone and to those with gains don't give up!!
