    Calorie Consumption vs. Ingestion

I agree with you GG. MFP is for counting calories and more so for protein intake . The projection for weight loss is for people without WLS. I wish there was something like that specific to our needs i.e for sleeve patients. Less intake of calories will also affect the catabolism in the long run, but as long as we continue with some sort of movement and just don't sit and vegetate weight loss will continue and there will be no effect on the metabolism rate. Thats what my surgeon had advised , in fact he had asked me to concentrate more in core strength exercises than cardio. As long as there are no hormonal issues sleeve should not affect the rate of expenditure of calories.

    Failed

Don't beat yourself about it. Its only natural that you ate what you love. Just try to get into the habit of thinking before you eat. I know its easier said than done, but you can. When you see something which you like and want to eat just think for a moment , usually the moment will pass off and you wont think about it. I just say "does my body needs this" and my brain says no. And yes when the tongue buds win, just get back on track. And when eat junk it makes us miserable anyway, so that might act as another repellant to over eat. Hope this helps.
  5. My intention was not to spread mis information. When operating on the stomach its important that none of the abdominal structures get disturbed and hence separators are used, but as I said its not something specific for this surgery, it is for all abdominal procedures. I don't understand why you felt that I wrote it as if you don't know the name hence it doesn't exist, neither have I cast any doubts about your pre op protocol. Also you don't know me so don't assume what I know and what I don't.

    Full Of Air

Hi, Sometimes after the surgery talking can cause one feeling out of breath. That does improve when you start protein shakes. But if it persists speak to your doctor about it.
  11. I don't think there is a tool or any such thing. Pre-op diets are to shrink the liver if enlarged which is easy to find with liver function tests. If they are normal you don't need a pre op diet.
  12. Hi, I was not put on a pre-sleeve diet , had no issues post op.
  13. Oh thats great, I have not seen many people from the UK. I am in Derbyshire, got sleeved in Sept, this year.

  16. yes, you are right, just used oil spray and came out well. Tomorrow will post soya curry with brown rice. I now know how to take a pic and post so mighty excited.
  17. Vegetarians main Protein source, Paneer or cottage cheese with sautéed bell peppers.
  18. You look amazing. I hope I achieve what you have in one years time. Congratulations again.
  19. Its a very good question. I just feel full very suddenly in spite of my slow speed. As long as you are ok to consume fluids after half an hour to an hour initially, there is nothing to worry about.

    Remember This...

Hi Mike, I had my sleeve done in mid sept this year. I am a doctor and work as a consultant and that is really stressful and high pressured job. Initially I noticed loss of stamina in first few weeks post surgery, but now I have so much of energy plus I have taken more roles because i don't feel lethargic.I would recommend this procedure because apart from health benefits it will help you to move ahead in your professional life. Hope this helps.
