  1. Ok, interesting NSV. When I walk up stairs, I notice my legs not rubbing together as much. Like I can actually realize a thigh gap. TMI, but I don't ever remember having one when I was younger HA!

    Size 16 18

    From the album: Some Progress

I am wearing a size 18 skirt that is getting too big for me. Thank goodness for the elastic waist band. Also wearing a size 16 top and would have never thought to wear a belt EVER!!! But here I am with a belt on and feeling confident in it.

plastic surgeon. Just going to say it!

Here lies the problem. Unfortunately, you are taking the brunt of a broken system. The insurance companies know that after weight loss there will be a need for plastics. I mean who wants to lose the weight to get in better health, but then have to look at the skin everyday for rest of our lives? They knew it would happen, yet they are resistant in covering the procedure. So maybe it's not a full body lift, but just cover removing the skin for ALL WLS patients. Possibly, write into the coverage skin removal from the abdomen, thighs, and arms and nothing else - not a lift, just removal. It's like it's some kind of Jedi Mind Trick or something

    Bathroom problems

Go buy some Magnesium supplements and take one daily. Should do the trick.
  6. My general practitioner recommended the doctor and place, however, once I had a chance to meet him, I wasn't so sure about him, so I went online to find out about him and the results were not so favorable. There were two additional doctors that practiced at the same hospital and I ended up with the right one - more personable for my taste. Glad I followed my heart and not my head
  7. Wearing a size 16 these days! So happy about that!! At 6'0 this is an amazing achievement, however, my goal is to get into a size 12 but a 14 will do nicely as well.

      mbrinmn

You totally ROCK!!! I'm so jealous. My goal is to get into 12-14s too. I'm not quite 6'0", but at 5'7.5" that's the challenge I have set for myself.

You are my hero!! Hope you can make it to the next chapter meeting. Did you see the date, time, and location on our chapter board?

      I'm so happy for you!!

  9. I am so not motivated. Bad habits are creeping up and I just can't control myself. If I can get away with it, I will.

Man girl I don't know how you eat the chocolate, it makes me sick, all that sugar? I get the same feeling from that that I get from ice cream? I can't touch it!!! I just got a new pair of yoga pants that are full length yesterday to work out in so im excited about that. I am going to be wearing those since it's starting to get cold!!! Good luck mama, I know you can do this, get some sugar free gum and keep it at your desk, thats what I do, cause there are a few people here that bring in candy too, and I just chew the gum and that helps me!!!

    2. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Regarding candy in the office... used to be my biggest problem. Two people in offices right beside me keep the good stuff on their desks... Reese's, Kisses, the works. They were the only 2 people in the office I told about the surgery beforehand because when I was stressed, they would leave candy on my desk. So I asked them not to do that and to slap my hand if I reached for candy without thinking about it. I still look at those bowls longingly when I walk by but I will NOT go back to that again. I will not eat a piece of chocolate because I know it's a slippery slope for me and I would rather live without it at a normal weight than eat it and gain back.

You can't control her bringing it in, but you can control you eating it. I try to pat myself on the back every time I walk past and don't grab a piece. It still catches my eye but I just say 'no' and it does get easier. Sugar is my enemy and since I have almost completely cut it out of my diet (usually less than 20 grams a day) I really don't have any taste for it anymore. It really does happen!

      Stay strong girl!

Bought some new gym clothes off the rack at Target. I couldn't believe that I could wear them because it didn't come from the Plus Size section - so, WOW, I look cute in them! Also, picked up some new socks, so I feel workout complete :) Now, next stop, that candy pick up. I am telling myself daily that I don't need it. I mean, I fit into a 14/16 size top just this weekend. Talking about motivation! I'm beginning to feel it a bit more. Thanks again @Ginger Snaps and @pupichupi and everyone that I missed~XOXO

It went very good. They were pleased with my weight loss and reiterated the amount of weight I should expect with the sleeve. Apparently, I am only 8 pounds away from the expected goal!!!! What?!? I told her that I refused to listen to that because my goal is 180. Of course they want us in the healthy range and that happens to be 215 - - just not good enough for me, but still attractive. So, statistics say that with the sleeve I should expect 60% loss of my EXCESS weight, which for me is only 70 pounds. Ya'll know I didn't hear that! I am believing with my eyes closed and clicking my heels that I am going back to Kansas Ladies!! Kansas is 180. What! What!!!

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Wow 60% I'm below 215 my half way point of my weight loss was at 75 lbs lost so I'm close to that 60% down but I'm not stopping now my goal is 175!!!

  14. Made zuchinni and yellow squash spaghetti with my new toy - The Veggiti and blanched it in chicken broth with onions. Then topped it with a super tender piece of pot roast. Surprised that I could eat the beef since that has been a problem in the past, but all was yummy and went down with no problems!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

isn't the veggiti great? I love that darn thing!!! That sounds good, I am glad you could get the beef in, I can eat steak as long as its cooked really tender and soft!!! If it's tough, OMG what a bad time!!!

    slow loss could it be......

I am almost 6 months out and have lost 60 lbs. I have a friend on this site that has lost 92 lbs with the full bypass. We had surgery the same day. At first this troubled me, but then I didn't want to go that drastic, so I had to tell myself that I am different, different height, different build, just different. At 6 ft., with this weight loss, I am wearing a size 18 and looking much smaller. We are all different in the way we lose and show weight loss. I am also in menopause which has an effect on how fast I lose and I take high blood pressure meds which adds to slow weight loss. Age, meds, heights, surgery, and other factors prevent some of us from losing weight any faster than our bodies want us too. I'm hoping that I can stop taking some of my meds so it can be one less obstacle. Good luck and I hope you find out what's going on and then share it with us!

Anyone want to be fat again?

I don't miss being fat, but I can relate to the skin issue. I have wings and I am not interested in flying anytime soon. There are times when I just say, "hey, love me, talk about me or hate me, today, I'm gonna go sleeveless today." However, I'm not that confident when around work or family folk. I'm also not interested in more surgery when I reach goal...considering living with the skin issue but won't quite know until I get there. Overall, I am extremely - ok, very happy with my choice. There are other mental issues that I go through that overrides the saggy skin thing right now.

    Shoe size

I haven't lost as much as most, but I can say that slingback shoes without the buckle strap are annoying. The sling slides down my heal often, plus some of my other shoes are swimming on my foot. I have taken a pair to the shoe repair to have them adjusted. Love needing to do that, but don't like thinking about buying new shoes.

That's right. Pack them all up and send them to place where they can use them...I have done that. I have no clothes left if I gain 10 lbs. Keeping it that way too.... do it..It gives you such a free feeling! :)

  23. My guy is my rock and my support. He couldn't get around taking me out to dinner and I was struggling with it as well for a few weeks, but I have reinforced to him that he can take me anywhere and I will do the selecting of food. Even if that means that I order a regular meal and have to get a carry out for later. I sometimes complain about not eating the way that others do and not having the urge to cook anymore, but he lives with my complaints. He doesn't like the fact that I hate cooking, but is adjusting to quick 30 minute dishes when and if I cook these days. Long gone are the days of cooking big meals throughout the week. The entire family has adjusted for my success. Love them!
  24. That is sooo funny! We all feel that way at times because sometimes our baby pouches will accept lots of food and other times it doesn't and MAN when it doesn't. I just went through an episode of not keeping down too much of anything. Had to do the finger trick - oft..e..n.... Good luck and stay focused. It's doing miracles right now!
