  1. Someone just gave me some deer and wondering what the fat content of deer is? Is it ok to eat after being sleeved?

Whoa! Then that's great to eat. I wonder how easy it is to get down and in the new stomach. Thanks for the information

  2. I'm interested in finding this out too when I have my surgery. In the past when I lost 80 lbs., I was taking two meds and reduced to one after losing about 60 lbs. That was good but not great because I want to be off of them completely and I'm hoping that when I reach 100lbs of weight loss I will not need them any longer.

    Ok guys....I need help

I think wanting to eat every 4-5 hours is ok, isn't it? I don't think you are overly hungry if it's that few and far between.
  4. Received my HealthPartners Approval yesterday for the surgery! Halleluah!!!!!

  5. Primary care doctor just called for a later pre-op physical, pushing it really close to my surgery time. Getting nervous but not letting it defeat me. Yeesh~~

  6. Let's see, 7 days before pre-op seminar, 10 days before preop physical, and weight still the same. They should be submitting for approval today. March 7 right around the corner!!!

Well I got a call this morning to reschedule the surgeon visit today to tomorrow morning. In my head I hope that when I meet with the surgeon, he will schedule a date for surgery. So waiting until tomorrow - barely :)

    I feel like a liar

I think there is such a stigma associated with this surgery that it makes us feel like we cheated ourselves. Then when we finally tell people what we are going to do or have done, we go into this whole dialogue about why we did the surgery and so on, and that gets to be overdone and old. I am in the same boat as you. I have only shared it with about 3 coworkers and my husband and kids and my girlfriend but no one else. I would love to share it with everyone but I wouldn't love explaining all of my ill with them about why I chose the surgery. I mean, why do we feel the need to tell why? Do exercise enthusiast, runners, Olympians have to tell why? Geesh, it's a madness isn't it?
  11. Got the call today that I can meet with the Surgeon. Sooooo Excited!!!

  12. Had a NUT visit Friday and was given the best news since learning about the sleeve! Excited, yet downplaying it until I know more on Tuesday.

  13. Which insurance company allows this? BC/BS, HealthPartners, etc...
  14. I think it's the fact that you haven't begun exercising yet. You may see greater results with exercise otherwise it will be slower.
  15. I can't imagine losing my husband because he is the best and my rock! God says the prayers of the righteous shall prevail, so pray for divine intervention and wisdom and peace and even recovery. I believe that the doctors know what they are saying, but Who's report shall we believe in times like these. Pray that God opens your eyes to another answer or remedy for him, do all that you can do and never give up hope. I will pray for you and your husband as you are going through this trying time.
  16. My day is full...love it <3

    Great Find!

Most frozen foods are processed, so how much sodium was in it?

You young people are killing me with this. I'm actually dying over here with laughter! Who says 'colored' in this day and age? I had to check to see where you are from because you must be living in some back woods area of NY with that language. From NY...Wow! Anything except colored or the n-word...PLEASE! I can't even respond to the message because of what you said. I'm completely stumped.
  19. Completed one of the last two insurance calls. I have one more call left on February 11th. WOOO HOOOO!!!!!

  20. Thank you for this article. There is more report on the food industry and how processing has created a population of obesity as well. This is a much greater issue than overeating.
  21. Congratulations on your success! I think I'm gonna use the 'I ate a late lunch/dinner' thing when I have my surgery. Great tip.

    Starting to panic

Oh, and don't panic. You got this! Congrats on nearing your surgery date.

That preop diet is the devil...It's the devil
  24. Overall, this surgery will come with it's challenges and adjustment. I accept that and choose to work through it all while remaining positive.
